Im just a basic map maker. My most succesful was called 'Zerg Games', and the sequel, which is in production, is called 'Terran Games' and is going to use some complex triggers.

wow will, thats awesome! Did you use programs other than Staredit, cause some of the stuff you described ive never seen a way to change(or at least didnt know how)
I made a few maps in my day. One was a maze type where you started with a few units and had to navigate your way through. Another involved loads of zerg, and a plan to place a sonic emitter within a Terran base in order to make the zerg attack. Unfortunantly, these maps have been lost into the void since my last computer fixing.
I just wanna say again, those maps really sound awesome will, and i wish i could have experienced them.

X-tra edit, GUEdit, ISOM, just about everything by Camelot systems. GUEdit does a lot of stuff, like letting you change the player colors (Ie making a team green, black, pulsing blue, tan, etc etc) or letting you lock a map so it can't be edited. ISOM does stuff to the map file itself and how starcraft reads the data, for example making the terrain 'square' (remoiving terrain borders). The camelot systems stuff are the most complex tools available, not editing maps, but instead editing starcraft itself, like changing portraits, special abilities, and graphics... but they require a bit of programming knowledge. X-tra edit allows you to place any unit for any team, unlocks the secret units, lvl 255 upgrades, alows you to place units anywhere... etc etc. There were other programs, maybe... it was a while ago. But those were the major ones. But still, the most important thing when making a map is knowledge of triggers. ;D Becoming 1337, eh? Well, that's good. Learning another language is always a step in the right direction

Terran Games PUBLICBETA released. Do any of you have Starcraft: Broodwars? I can give it to you. I also have Zerg Games 2.0, with 3.0 in the making.

Oh man. I'd need to find my disks. Broodwar is stashed away somewhere around here. Then I'd have to find a cd key.
I guess I wouldn't really mind getting back into all that. I could make maps again, just for the board, instead of trying to learn how to make full games in flash. ;D
I REALLY hope Startcraft 2 is as good as Starcraft. The map editor MUST be as powerful and flexable, if not more so, and being easy to use is a major plus. I also really hope its 2d. Hi-res 2d, nice, crisp, clear graphics.
Man, if it was 2d, just imagine all the prossesor speed/RAM itr would save. The sheer number of units you could have on one map. Good bye 200 supply limit. Hello, 1000's!

I hope they put in limits too. Its no fun if you can just do all-powerful triggers. I checked on SEN, and at least 70% LIKE the limits cause it gives them something to do, trying to get around it. I also hope they legalize mods.

Hey, there's something wrong with the "Well, Hello everyone!" thread.... Now i can't post more memories on that successful map... I can't believe we still remember that stuff. And i still have my Starcraft/Broodwar installed in my computer. I never want to delete it. ;D

even if there is something wrong with it, theres nothing we can really do besides destroy it and make it new... theres no "make the board work again" button. unfortunatly
