I've been drifting to terrans lately. I dunno. What they lack from sheer brute force like the Protoss, they make up for in versatility. They also have a lot of spellcasters which I've gotten the hang of even better than before.

I like protoss. And "Zealots" pretty much sums up my strategy when I play(ed) as them.
As terran, Goliaths/marines or Goliaths/Tanks (And some marines) if there were easy expansions.
Right now, though, I'm playing Rise of Legends. Great game, if for no other reason, that there is a steampunk team. There are like... other teams? But steampunk, yes. Preatty good RTS. Without internet on my gaming computer, though, I guess I can't feel the full effect.

The threads here have all been sucked to the archives as well!!!! I am thinking about moving this thread as well. It is too full of junk. We could make a new one I guess. And again, if at any point in the future, you need any thread from the archives moved back, we can do that.

I thought you guys could?
I'll double check. I thought I had it set so that all members could read the archives whenever they wanted.
[Edit]: I found the problem, For some reason, it was set so that only people with Custom Titles were able to read it... problem fixed at any rate.

Hi, I would like to join in on Soul Saber if it's coming back, since this is my first day here I don't even know if it's come and gone. I'm new on this board but I've been roleplaying for awhile (only one I've ever been on lasted over two months. : ( ) so I can catch up fast. Anyway... Name: Avroz (split personality: Affel) Alias: Split Race: After giving his body and mind as an offering to his god, Avroz forfeited the right to call himself human. When asked, his only reply is always, "What race are the shadows? The haunting howl of a lone deamon? The moon?" Undead (weak mortalized god) Age: 21 (2,0000) Eyes: Mirror blue (black) Hair: golden blonde (coal black) Height: 6' 2 (5' 6) Gender: male ( ) Profession: healer (assassin) Specialty: Avroz is mostly a distraction, enemies tend to pity this fool when they see him trembling in battle. Special Move:Avroz can separate from his split personality for double-attacks, but afterwards is powerless for an hour. Weapons of choice: Cage on belt that grows and can be swung as a flail (whip hidden from his other personality within secret pocket) Armor and Equipment: Black robe (loaded with hidden pockets) bandages (double as strangling wire and rope) Books of Arcane Darkness ("Hmm... They seem heavy and blunt... Close enough to a club to me!") Amputation Blade (does this really need an explanation? : ) ) Sleeping drugs (if shot or thrown, projectile tranquilizers) small brass cage (hellish prison) Bio: When Avroz joined the Crux of Gods, he had nothing but a desire to become the most powerful dark magician in existance, and prove to those Necromancers it doesn't take minions to reach the top. He was gaining power more and more quickly, and the Crux had no option but to seal him into the room holding the Pool of Focus, the pit where the Gods of his group was said to live. What the Crux hadn't counted on was his God of Darkness, Affelleath, fighting off the Gods wishing to make a meal of him. But simply being attacked by them made Avroz lose all courage, valor, dignity, and most arcane knowledge. Then and there they made a deal. Avroz needed Affelleath to grant him his power and help him escape, and Affelleath needed a human body just long enough to escape the pool. Avroz brought the body, Affeleath brought the BOOM. The Crux was shattered, but the remaining members hexed and attached the two, forcing them into a symbiotic situation and weakening. This curse was sealed by a brass cage to entomb the God, who could only control the body when the cage was opened and until it was shut, opened, and re-shut. To this day Avroz searches everywhere with his sole companion to find some way to get what they secretly want- a way to divide and conquer. Pros:Avroz is a healer and can distract enemies, and excels at dodging attacks Affel is perfect at stealth kills, but hits very hard at all-out melee Cons: When they change can't be effectively controlled Avroz cannot hit hard and fears direct confrontation Affel moves slowly and tends to attract unnecessary enemy fire by wreckless slaughter. Avroz and Affel talk to each other in battle, which distracts them decidedly.

Ah, Soul Saber, our brightest child... I'm afraid it will be some time before that RPG comes back... it was one of our first, it lasted at least over two years (how long exactly I forget), had the most posts out of any RPG (having some hundred-or-so pages between its threads) but we have had a great deal of trouble continuing it, unfortunately. Twice in the past few months we've tried to revive it, but it always dies off again... I think its been mostly lack of time from the cast, who are no longer in contact in the real world, not to mention many of the main characters (whom were heavily involved in the story at this point, and couldn't simply be "written out") no longer post. I have been toying with the idea of starting a whole new Soul Saber saga, although I haven't given it any serious thought yet. I'd like to see our RPG spirit come back to life, as we have only just recently begun RPing again (most of our members were busy with college). Depending on how well this new RPG does (the one with no name), I will think about creating a new RPG of my own, and if I do, Soul Saber is a very good candidate for context. That is only, however, if this new RPG shows that our members have the time and dedication to RP in several RPGs at once. Except for me, they are all very busy people

It has more posts than the BugsItch saga? That was like, our VERY first RPG. I'm still heavily attached I'm curious, what would we do with the new Soul Saber storyline? I imagine it would be after our whole confrontation that is "currently" going on. Or would we create whole new characters?

I dunno. I was thinking whole new characters, whole new story, a whole new beginning.
Although, I DID already have a story planned out for what would happen to our characters after what we were doing, it was something I've been wanting to do since the very beginning, but never really got the chance... which is ok (I love playing in other people's story segments). But it would be weird leaving a gap. I guess it depends on what other people wanted. The new story arc involved a gigantic war that grows to cover all of the Eastern Continent, and even begins to draw in the Westerners, and our characters becoming involved in it. Our opponents wield Magitechnology.
It would be a kind of "Edge of darkness" sort of thing, a desperate final battle (or series of battles, as we would be battling across the world), where a single failure or mistake meant the end of the world as we knew it, that takes every ounce of strength from our characters.
It was actually the first story arc I thought of, but it would also be our character's greatest challenges, and so fits best at the end anyway.
And yeah, I'm fairly certain Soul Saber had more posts then BugsItch, BugsItch did last longer (it was our very first, it was actually created before the board even was, for those who don't know) but I think people posted in Soul Saber more frequently... also, BugsItch died before Soul Saber did, and Soul Saber was revived several times, when BugsItch was revived once (although, its revivification did last much longer... so who can say)
Those are just guesses though, who can say for sure, especially since the first threads of some of our RPGs are missing, not even in the archives (either Soul Saber or BugsItch, I forget which)
