Gustav was deep in thought, trudging slowly through the woods, and very nearly bumped into a tree. Just in time, however, some tiny woodland creature shot off, making a good bit of noise and drawing him back into reality. He side-stepped the tree and found himself in a clearing. Moreover, he found himself finding himself in a clearing.
"Hello?" he called to himself.
"Are you me?" he heard himself respond.
This was very unusual, he decided. A large branch fell from a tree directly above Hindemith, as he'd chosen to call the other him. Miraculously, however, as Hindemith looked up, he lost his balance and fell forward, out of harm's way.
Gustav was rather perturbed by this equally lucky mirror image of himself.
Hearing growls and barking behind him, Gustav turned to find a pack of dogs quickly approaching, frothing and apparently quite angry over something. He was just thinking how odd it was when a tree, which he'd noticed leaning slightly, fell quite promptly on top of them.
He turned to Hindemith, wondering if this was what he thought it was.
He charged and tackled Hindemith, testing his luck. He swung a punch, but halfway through it his sore right shoulder sent a jolt of pain down his arm and he jerked off course, lightly glancing off the soft, damp earth.
Hindemith rolled on top of him and stood, then raised his foot as if to stomp. Just then, before he had time to bury his foot in Gustav's stomach, the wind picked up, toppling him into a stray leafpile.
The two sat on the ground staring at one another until they both began to laugh.
What were the chances of this?

JUST case I ever post any of my Chronoshifter stories up here... Kaiou-Tur in Chronoshifter, which is from where I suggested the name, isn't a Protoss They are psychic, but that's where the similarity ends. I like this thread The situation of my characters fighitng themselves isn't jumping out at me as being particualarly cool for any of my characters... Oh wait, no, Cobra vs Praetorian. Does that count? I'm going to write something about that later.

Lol, Tass, you killed yourself?! Totally. A fight to the death would be the only solution. Time for some necromantic (i wonder if thats a word. . . sounds like a cross of necromancer and romantic) action! Tass, the necromancer: Tass strode through the forest, searching for the ancient graveyard he had discovered in the library's records. It was rumoured to contain the corpses of several powerful warriors, the bones of ancient dangerous creatures, and a few nasty spirits. This also made it the perfect place for the necromancer to hone his skills, and perhaps pick up a few new ones. Tass's foot suddenly connected to a rocky outcropping. . . a decidely unnatural outcropping. Looking closer, he discovered that he had just stumbled upon the overgrown graveyard. It was barely discernable from the forest, but the few upright headstones gave it away. Tass also dicovered a fellow necromancer across the way, recognizing him by his green and grey robes adorned with necrotic marks. "Ahoy! It seems we've chosen the same site to practice in." "That it does, friend." Something was familiar about the voice. They both strode towards each other, not prepared for the shock of realizing they had the same face, same body structure. . . same person! What type of magic can produce something like this? A wizard out here somewhere? But no, I would see through any mirage. This is its own being"It seems we've chosen more than the same graveyard to visit." "Most peculiar. I assume you have the same powers?" Behind the doppleganger, a spirit faded into vision, obviously under his binding. Responding in turn, Tass called forth a shade from the ground. "Impressive. Perhaps we could learn something from each other." "Doubtful, we have the same experiences between us. I do believe, we could produce greatness working together." "Indeed. The crypt is this way." said the doppelganger, motioning. The two walked off, ready to advance their abilities. ((wow, I like, need to go install diablo II or something with a necromancer class. . . Or we need to revive Soul Saber!))

I know this is really random, but I've always wondered what would happen if Avroz met the grim reaper. He's scared enough just by little kids with rocks. The graveyard setting Tassatul left in my mind got me thinking about it. Good imagery, man

Sorry, my weeks been busy with family stuff. Haven't had a chance to come up with a new scenerio. The grim reaper thing sounds alright. But gotta give him a personality to react to, like does he talk with a booming voice or does he talk at all? Is he gloom and doom or is he short and tired of his job like the grim of Conker's Bad Fur Day. Just so that everyone's characters react to the same Grim. Personally I prefer the Bad Fur Day Grim, just because it'd be funny.
By the way, keep double-posting to a minimum.

I was just thinking of an idea for later, and Old Grim just HAD to come up. He always does somehow. I can be thinking of what I want for breakfast or what my favorite color is and somehow my train of thought gets directed to a skeleton with robes and a scythe. I always picture him as a kind of a weaselly, overconfident personality like Sora from dot Hack Sign (if anyone else here watches that) with a voice to match. Sorry about the double-post. It's a confusing story, but it was an accident.

Ah, it seems we have a conflict between the man and the mind. I always follow the advice of Robert Frost: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.

Robert Frost is the only poet I've ever liked. That says a lot coming from me, someone who dislikes poetry with dedication.
Here is a roleplaying scenario since nobody seems to be posting much. What would your character be like once its finally time to settle down, and his adventuring days are over? What would spur the decision? How much would s/he have changed by then?
I don't think I can do this one. Will from soul saber, I imagine traveling and adventuring his whole life, I mean, he was born to nomads. And Cobra, from bughunting, I imagine being eventually killed in battle, one way or another, and never growing older. The guy from Emanon, I haven't fleshed out fully yet, so who knows.

Ooh, this is an interesting scenerio.
For Egakino, I imagine that he would have become a grande master of magics and illusions with the ability to charm everyone and anything. Wherever he went, he would become like a beacon of positive energy, lighting up entire towns. He would have stayed with the traveling circus and maybe become the head master and leader over time. He would have trained several new up and coming entertainers who would then grow up to become world famous themselves, passing on his legacy and maybe starting up other circus'. He'd have a really long beard but would still be as nimble and still have the same silly and goofy personality as he had in his youth. He would die in his death bed in his tower while all of his closest friends were there. In his funeral they would send him off right without sadness and grief, but in remembering all the wonderful times they had.
For Tanyu the demon hunter... Its kinda rough to say. His ending could go two ways. At one point he becomes infected by the demonic sword that was owned by the brother of the monster that destroyed his village and master. In one version of his story he stayed cursed and was damned to be a wandering, blood thirsty demon, much along the lines of Nightmare of Soul Calibur. It would then be a sad ending for him in that other heroes would be forced to stop him. In the other ending, he is somehow saved and separated by the demonic possession and gets to continue to live. He'd probably continue to hunt down other demons and continue to do so until felt that his debt to the world was payed. By then he would be a tired old man with gray, silvery hair but would also be a true master of all blades and defense against dark magicks. He would probably die as a hermit, living alone in either the deep forests or mountains. But while as a hermit he would probably write down all of his adventures in a tome or in scrolls so that if other adventurers comes by they would know how to stop any of the demons he faced.
BugHunter, of the BugsItch rpg... Hmm. Been awhile since i visited him. Well I guess he and the hunter clans would continue on doing their thing, being vigilantes of the universe and whatnot. After awhile he would become the head leader and grandemaster of his clan, succeeding TopKnot's position. He would probably die a great general.

Avroz, after the adventure? Wow, that's a thought... Oh! I know! He would be a conman! He would take a small gold coin and make it grow to three times it's size, and then trade it for two gold coins and knowing the coin won't stay that big for long take off tearing down alleyways. Or just return to his alley and Farce and just keep living his life like he already did. But while I have some great ideas for his development that would effect things, I don't wanna ruin it.
