Safra closed her eyes, seeming deep in concentration. "If you can keep it up for another five minutes, it should be fine," she said as she did so. "I hope..." she said a bit more quietly.

"I dont see anything out here? Wuts with everyone going all tense like, now?"

[zoner]

"And so the chase begins." Sen uttered as he stowed away his blade. "Apparently, Egakino," He remarked in a matter-of-fact tone, "We're being pursued. By what I haven't been told. But to have to run it must be a force indeed."

[BugHunter]

"What?" While still on the ball, Egakino looks around and behind. He launches a bright green flare into the air in the general direction of behind the party. Even with its bright light illuminating the night forest, it still didn't seem to reveal much. "is it invisible or something? Are you guys even sure? I'm not sensing squat." He says with a confused look. Not that he was telepathic or anything, but Egakino could at least sense some kind of danger around if it turned its face.

"Five minutes?" Will says to the Saffra ((sorry)), In a worried tone. "Five minutes? I will try my best. She will try her best..." He said, patting the dashboard.

[zoner]

"In five minutes cities have fallen!" Sen shouted in rage. He leapt to the attention of whoever would hear him. "It stands to reason our ranks can fall in that time. what must be done is-" As he spoke, he swung the cage at his belt and the door shook violently as it sprung too and fro. He fell to his knees on the ground and put his hands over his face. "Wha-what-whoa-what if this threat closes distance on us? We are not prepared to do na- not prepared for coco-combat as a team!"

Nenet reached around and grabbed the edge of the cowering mage's black robe.

"Silence!" she commanded, raising her voice only a little and yet still having the same effect of shouting.

She let go of the robe and faced front again. With the Kruzer speeding and bouncing around, the strange girl actually looking worried, and the mage going from bloodlust to cowering and whining, her nerves were seconds from being shot. She began to loosen the straps around the bundle she carried with her and turned towards the girl.

"What follows?" she asked. "Tell us. Now."

[zoner]

"You te-te-tell me to quiet myself." He adjusted his collar and smoothed out any wrinkles, and blinked away a single tear. "Yet d-deep in te-the depths of your mind you see I spa-speak trut-truth." He could only move to the darkest corner of the kukuruznik in an attempt to regain composure. "Yes, if-f some great being or group rides our coattails, we must know how t-to properly escape."

[Jalathas]

Safra reopened her eyes, seeming to visibly shake herself. "Well, I suppose now that you've broken my concentration, we'll have to fight. There are approximately two dozen of those fool Cardinals riding like hell itself's on their tails. Actually, if they serve this "Devil of the West," it may well be."

[zoner]

"Running? After us? And what foul purpose would they to do this? Answers! I need answers!" He started tearing at the walls with his hands in nervousness. He jolted beside Will. "Can you speed-sped uv-up this clunker?" He swallowed hard and balled a fist. "Even in the least bit? No- levers you can turn or- or- buttons you can push or gears to turn?" He pulled a half-empty bottle of black syrup out of his coat and drank it all, not stopping to breathe. He dropped it and fell backward, landing against the wall, leaning and sliding to the ground."Oh, fortunes forsaken. Do we have time to plan?" He inquired, more to Saffra than anyone else, but just facing the ceiling as he propped his hands on his kness. He suddenly smiled and looked up. "Can we just throw this veve- vehicle in the opposite direction? Thin-thin the ranks in the least? If this metal monster is heavy enough to crush Cardinals beneath it's weight- whatever it takes. I'm not getting captured again."

"you mean they serve the one who killed Froggie?! The knaves!! Yaaaarrrrrrgh!!!" Egakino turns around and carelessly charges into the darkness behind the Kruzer, bouncing in great leaps in the air. Behind the darkness of some trees the rest of the party sees random bright fireworks going off.

After a couple of seconds of commotion, everyone sees Egakino coming back out of the forest hurriedly bouncing forward in the air. "GANG WAY!!! They have sharp objects and I think I angered them!" He speedily goes past the Kruzer and doesn't stop.

[zoner]

"Fortunes be damned!" He shouted, preparing his bandages and wrapping his chest up for a little added protection. A million thoughts of how things could go wrong rushed into his mind, and his blood ran cold at each. "Egakino, you brought them here? As great as you are with your little tricks you couldn't vanish or something?" He seemed upset, but he was only trying to cover his fear. He was clearly doing a pitiful job, but any effort made was worth trying to him as he heard the clamor of many hooves and thought that the most he could do was not give the Cardinals the pleasure of striking fear into his very soul as he fell..

The Cadinals came galloping out of the woods behind Egakino, brandishing various swords and spears. They were moving only slightly faster than the Kukuruznik, so it would take a few minutes for them to catch up.

[zoner]

Avroz, in a panic, reached for the cage at his waist. "Only-on-one-only one way out of this, guys." He shook his head in fear and then felt the headband he realized Sen must have put on. "Wait, wait... I have an idea to take out a few of the clumsy ones, if anyone with any courage wants to take a chance. I need someone to distract these-these- monsters, while I use a special trick I've worked out..." He whispered to himself, "No, no Avroz, this won't take long. You don't need help. Do this for yourself." Sen's voice whisped through Avroz's mouth, "You'll never take us alive." Avroz would need to wait to say his part- he didn't want to split by his allies. What would they think? How would Sen behave in front of them, without Avroz cutting in to calm him down. No, he would wait for the battle. Timing was crucial.

The Kukuruznik sputtered suddenly and ground to a halt. The Cardinals laughed and spurred their mounts forward, coming into melee range.
