Sheesh Dan, you take everything i say as a decree to start a war... I wasn't trying to insult you. I was just pointing something out. Lighten up.
And in that last comment, what i meant was that i thought of it as amusing that the style of how you post on the board is identicle to how you speak in real life. Like, you really do say things like "So there! Bah! Suck on that!" in real life.

maybe we should start posting the stats of some of the enimies well be fighting frequently, or maybe some of th eknown bosses. so we kinds have a little idea on how strong they are and what they're weak against. you know, just so were all on the same page.

Bah, improv is better. Anyway, its obvious enough. Fight an ice dragon with fire, and a fire dragon with ice. If its a black dragon, run the fuck away!!

um...no its not always obvious. not all creatures have a visible elemental resistance. Only people with magesight can see the resistance aura. And no, nobody here has magesight except one person, not kaluth, so dont ask. Its part of a story line.

What? Its always a good idea to create stats! What Dan said is right, it isn't always obvious. Remember in the Bug Hunt thread I created stats on the bugs and that helped keep some consistency on the rpg

Example: (chronos you can relate with this) zombies are immune (or nearly immune) to ice. That is not obvious to people who have never worked with zombies before.
Oh and just so you guys know, ther are no innate resistancies in Dungeons and Dragons...so this is unique ok?

All you have to keep in mind is dealing with the damn thing realistically, and that goes for zombies, imps, mummies, and dragons!

hey, i just suggested that because this thread was dying and we needed a little something to get the creative juices pumping again but i agree with bughunter. as far as resistances go, just be realistic. like an ice dragom being weak against fire and stuff like that.

Here are some basic examples
all Undead are strong against ice, because they have no body tempeture anyway.
Lizards are weak to ice because they are cold blooded, and need external heat to survive.
Skelitons are strong against all "sharp" weapons, because they are just bones. You have to smash them, not cut them.
These are just basic ideas, not set in stone things:
Arrows mean, strong against. So fire is strong against Ice. Fire->Ice Ice->Water, plants Water->Fire Electricity->Water Water-> Electricity Earth->Electricity Plants-> Water
The X's mean imunity, or strong against. So fire is imune to ice. Ice-X Fire Fire-X Earth, water Water-X Plants Electricity-X Earth
Etc. Etc. See what I mean.

I got an idea. Why dont we just go by the Pokemon thing. They already have it set up. Zombies can be considdered Dark types.
btw dont mistake my knowlege of it for fanatacism about it. I just like the games and the old (1st season) show. if you think pokemon sux, you never played the gb/gba games.

I don't think it's stupid, I just think they went overboard with it.
And that would work, I suppose. Try to find an online chart or something...

No, they didn't go overboard with it, it was the people that went overboard with it. Then they retaliated for their own foolishness.
I went through my own Pokemon phase, lol. But just like the rest i grew out of it. But i sometimes still watch the show if nothing else is on.
As for the subject of resistences, Just kill the damn thing.

Not everything can be that simple to kill, can it?

Pluses mean the attacking pokemon gets a bonus, minuses mean that it does reduced damage, and an equals sign means it does NO damage. For this chart, we assume a Zombie is a "Dark" type. If you look on the left, go to Psychic. If you look over to the part where your 'attacking' a Dark with a Psychic, it should have an = sign. This makes pretty good sense, since wtf good does a psychic attack do vs something without a brain. Ontop of this, we would have to add our own based on obviousness. Like, zombies should be immune to all regular poison and have some resistant versus all magic but fire and doom.
