ahem... This was my ride for the week, hehehe: The Norwegian Dawn!like i said in the special event thread, this ship is HUGE!!! The biggest ship of the company's fleet, and one of the biggest in the world! This thing took a whole day to explore! And even then, i got lost like 5 times and walked around in circles more times than I'd like to admit. Its a very young ship too -- only two years old. It's construction was completed on Dec. 4, 2002 at the Meyer Werft Shipyard in Papenberg, Germany. It cost $420 million!! 1,200 crew on board representing over 60 nations -- about 400+ were all Filipino, so my family and group which are all Filipino immediately felt comfortable, lol. My dad kept talking to the workers...He always does that when other Filipinos are around... So anyway, more facts: Length: 294.13 meters / 964.98 feet Width (max): 38.10 meters / 125 feet Height: 59.5 meters / 195.2 feet (We were able to go right under the Verazano Bridge in New York City, but there was like only 20 feet seperating it and the tip of the ship, lol) Max Speed: 25knots / 28.75 MPH (This thing just burns through fuel -- it gets like 2 feet per gallon of fuel) Lets not get into how much food is processed on the ship... I got a chart, hehehe. Here's just to give you an idea, this is per week: 12,000 lbs. of Beef, 1,000 lbs. of Lobster, 36,000 Fresh Eggs, 129 types of wine, 17,000 lbs of vegetables, and 500 gallons of ice cream (and on a cruise with hot weather, ice cream is your BEST friend, lol) And other features on the ship: over a dozen restaurants, an above deck pool, a dozen jacuzzi's, an indoor pool, a spa, a fitness room, AN ARCADE, a tabletop game room (cards, scrabble, chess, etc.), a casino, a movie theater, a live theater (lets hear it for the Jean Anne Ryan Company! They're a real great group of actors and singers and acrobats. All the actresses are hot too, hehe), A BUFFET, a jogging track on deck, and whats a cruise without shuffle board, a bunch of lounges, a library, meeting rooms, a daycare center for kids, dance clubs, a pub, dozens of bars (lets face it, everyone got drunk), a basketball court, GIANT CHESS SETS on deck, ping pong tables on deck, and kareoke night, lol, there are even ORIGINAL works of art displayed in one of the facy restaurants onboard!!! And these aren't any works of art, but works of the masters! Like Renoir, Matisse, Van Gogh, Monet, and Andy Warhol!!!! Holy Cow!!! They even had art auctions onboard and they were bidding some really highly valuable pieces. Some had starting bids all the way up in the $20,000 range!! And oh! In their shop, they had a $35,000 watch on display!!! Pure platinum, hand made, insane detail! Me and my bro were staring a really cool $20,000 watch when the seller pointed us to the other watch, lol. This was no cheap souviner shop. They had 100% silk tropical shirts that were like $100! Awesome, awesome stuff. Couldn't buy anything though, lol. man...did i forget anything? Well if i remember anything else, I'll be sure to tell ya, lol ;D. And if you managed to read this whole post, you deserve a pat on the back, lol. NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE is the shizm shazm! hahaha. And i swear, i still feel as if i'm still on the ship... I can still kinda feel the slight rocking of the boat... ooohh woozy, lol Here's a picture of the onboard live theater, called the Stardust Theater: The Venetian Restuarant. Had to dress all nice to get in, lol: A picture of one of the better staterooms. Mine was smaller. I believe this one was $2,000 per person. Mine was $1,000. We got to see a $3,000 per person suite. That room kicked arse, lol. And another picture of the front. You can see the really cool paint job they did. It took 1,000 gallons to paint the exterior. 3,000 gallons for the interior, *cough*

And more pictures! I'm putting them on another post because I'm afraid of overloading a single post and getting the "too much typed and everything you wrote got erased" message. By the way, these are all internet pictures, but these are the exact places I saw and got let loose on, hehehe The entrance to the El Dorado spa and Beauty Center. Nice messages, but expensive like crazy... CHESS ON DECK! Yeeeaaahhh! One of the rooms where you can play cards, chess, scrabble, and a bunch of other tabletop games. They had a cabinet full of a whole bunch of games, nice way to meet other kids on the ship. Playing chess here was really fun. Only got beaten twice, and it was by two old black guys. They were masters, used tactics i've never seen before and wiped me out... But everyone else, i kicked the crap out of, lol ;D A blurry picture of the Spinnaker Lounge. This is where a lot of the grown ups got drunk and hit the dance floor dancing to 70's music late at night. Also the site of a lot of other wild parties. And can anyone say BINGO? Oh how did i forget the Kids Pool? This is only a section though. Oh hey, the Dazzles Lounge, where a bunch of people tried to get themselves drunk enough before going up onstage for kareoke night. The stage is just a little bit off camera to the right. Oh here's a good one. This is in the middle of the ship. You can see the central staircase over to the top left. There's a bar over at the bottom and there's another i guess bar/lounge over in that middle deck to the right. I didn't hang too long there. But its one of the more impressive looking parts of the ship's interiors. By the way, there are 13 decks on this ship. And for some dumb reason, the elevators seemed to take forever to get to places. It was better to just take the stairs. But after four days of waking up and down huge staircases, i began to just give up and use the elevators, lol. You know what i wish i had a picture of. The most beautiful blue horizon ever. Just watching over the side of the ship out onto the open sea is just sooo awesome... sigh... the sunsets kick so much arse... And that was when the chick in the bikini caught my eye, lol. j/k. But there was a lot of mushu if you catch my drift. ok, thats it for now. I wish i could show you guys the pictures that we really took. We did use a digital camera, so if I figure it out, i may be able to at some point...

We went on a cruise once, but it was nothing like that. I really don't like fancy stuff, but that looks like a place I'd enjoy.

oh its only fancy at the fancy restaurants onboard, and thats only like 4 restaurants and only after 5 o'clock. Besides that, on this ship you could wear whatever you want, whenever you want, wherever you want, as long as its tasteful of course.

You know, when the subject was up, I would have really loved it if you guys put up the Norwegian Dawn as the ride of the week then. Which would make sense since it was a week long cruise...booyah. Man, that ship looks so beautiful.... among other things... like the chics.......... in bikinis...
