anyway, hi. my name is chrisgriffon. I posted last night as a guest so most of you prolly haven't seen it yet. I found your site on Google and I'm a big role-playing fan so I signed up. Also I'm a huge video game fan, sometime I'll rant endlessly about how great they are so be on your toes! but now is not the time.

anyway I'm looking forward to meeting all of you, I saw a lot of names on the guest board but I got confused.

so how do they work exactly?

let me clarify that: do you have a "GM" or does have to work together to advance the story? And who controls your adversaries?

In Hostile Space, its a spaceship on a routine journey to mars, delivering some spacesuits. But it turns out not to be routine, as all sorts of disasters can happen, such as players that are terrorists, malfunctions, meteor showers, or even hijackers who desire to fly into the White House!

Anyone can advance the story in it. You should stay within limits, however. Use common sense around here, and not all RPs are like mine. Also, everyone uses a different style which may take getting use to.

okay I think I sorta get it now. I don't really understand how you roleplay without a GM (I imagine it would get bogged down by indesicion sorta like yours seemed to be Coral) but I'll go along with it and I guess I'll find out.

so what other kinds of RPGs have already started here? A lot of them seem to be like sci-fi or modern, Project Maho being sort of a magic realism sorta thing, but do you have any like epic fantasy? I noticed a thread way in the back about a "medieval" RPG, did that become Soul Saber or what?

Awesome, a new member! For the most part, all the new members that joined simply never posts or disapeared after about 15 posts. There are, of course, expections.

Ok, the way it is here, every RPG is different ;D

Sometimes, we take turns GMing. Whenever someone thinks they have a good contribution to the storyline, they check it over with the other players of the RPG, and they GM untill the they're done.

Other times, we discuss the storyline beforehand (like in bughuinting), then after we have a general idea of what will happen, we play the RPG without any kind of GMing other then moderators preventing any arguments. Sometimes our plans change as we go, and it adds a bit of randomness and sponteniuity.

Most of the time, though, we have two threads for an RPG- one for RPing, and the other to discuss the details as we go. So, while we're rping, we'll just post in the RPG thread... but if we want to move the story ahead, we make a post in the 'info' thread and talk about what exactly we're about to do.

And some of our RPGs are totally different from the rest. A new one thats just about to come out (as soon as I get my old hard drive connected to the internet again... ) has a GM, game board, rules for battles and the like (although, we are limited to five players for now... ).



Oh, by the way... I'm Cobra (or, will). I make comics, although I can't draw I make signatures, mostly abstract art or robots, although my old computer (with my art programs AND scanner) is offline... I also almost always wear blue, and I love hexagons.


I also make needlessly long posts.

hi, im copyKatt, cassidy, cassie, almighty mod, queen of the universe... whichever one you feel nessicary. i deal with board images (like the avatars... which are down and i am having serious trouble getting back... sorry guys, still working on it!), i make some sigs, do avatars, and deal with arguments and people problems if/when i can/need to. so, welcome!

and dont worry about breaking any rules around here, im sure anythign you can do has been done before. (i mean hey, i changed around everyones gender before just because i had the power to do so... bwahahah!... erm... yeah, the point i was trying to make was that i was forgiven, so im sure you would be too ;D)

and our RPGs are pretty simple to catch wind of, fill out a character sheet and we can fit you in to any one you think your intrested in. check out our RPGs and the other threads there (if you havent already) and talk to us about it. it'll work out, lol.

oh yeah, and a side note about myself, i never capatalize. ever. just in case you noticed or it bothers you ;D

(oh and katt I share your view of capital letters: I never capitilize either, except for the word "I" which just looks stupid in lowercase and acronyms like "RPG", or names sometimes)

Wills gotta make a new country! and the rules are all from my dearest brother' s (cobra's) head. he made the game up. and i do beleive you can find all the info in the lastest couple pages in the new (sort of) rpg thread in the RPG board. all the countries are taken, but Cobra said before he would be willing to alter the map if more players wanted to join, like you for example. ill get him to work on it ;D

lol, this country thing is something we do on only this board, its not like a huge collaboration or anything. were pretty exclusive here, i guess.
