A new unit, a new crew. More people to adjust to. Could life suck any more? Just when you thought that everything was going along just fine Uncle Sam decided to switch duty stations. Hell, this place wasn't even on any maps. Somewhere in the deep south it had to be. The insects were horrible, the humidity was a killer. . . this place was going to be a bitch.
Seargent Pete Davenport ran a hand over a days worth of stubble relishing the feeling. It'd be nice to deploy somewhere where facial hair was allowed. Who knew, maybe the Captain here woudn't be a pencil dicked son of a whore who knew more about counting paper clips then he did war. Whatever the case, something was happening. They didn't pull people with his skill into shitholes like this without reason.
Davenport began a slow recon of the area and was not terribly surprised to see a small group of barracks in the distance, he guaged it to be half a mile or so cross country. With a grin he decided to sprint the distance. Halfway through his run the sound of helicopter blades could be heard in the distance.
"I'll be damned, this must be one of my crew".

((ooh, colorful ;D))
The helicopter flew past the jungle, a streaking grey bullet in a sea of green. Adam "Tass" Tassulk sat in his chair, reviewing the roster of his new team. They seemed to be skilled enough to handle most anything, but he would see for sure in the field.
In any case, Tass wouldve rather worked with his old team. He knew them and they new him. Didnt the government higher ups realize that things worked out better if squadmates actually knew each other? All missions required a certain amount of trust in the other man (or woman), but how could you trust someone you just met?
The helicopter lurched, then touched down just outside the barracks. Tass stepped out of the helicopter, his black boots striking the ground, and looked around. The barracks wasn't very high tech, but then, they were in the middle of a jungle on short notice. Probably nothing would be very high tech just yet. Tass made his way into the main building, ready to meet his squad.

Soren sat at his desk within the barracks. He scribbled a few words which looked like they had something to do with helicopters, and reviewed more maps. As he heard the helicopter he opened several drawers until he got to the one with the files of the team members. He took it up and started reviewing the strengths and weaknesses of each.
"One proficient member... and thats it. We have one excellent scout" he muttered to himself, staring at Davenport's profile.
He looked through the other profiles. Everyone was new. He'd have to keep the same post with the same dung-flinging beetles and the same god forsaken barracks. Pay of 20,000 dollars a year, income tax not included. Why in the world did he have to do this job? He wishes he could be free, but he remmembered a saying, "The truth will make you free". Everyday he picked at that truth bit by bit, but the truth got bigger and bigger.

Davenport watched the helicopter land, not too shabbily he thought. Maybe things were looking up. Or maybe whoever was being flown in was just somebody important that was having the wool pulled over his eyes about the real army's lack of skilled pilots. Who knew?
He continued his sprint and was surprised to see somebody exit the helicopter and begin heading towards the barracks.

Davenport, sweat pouring from his body, crept up on the barracks. The door to the barracks was hanging wide open and there was a light on inside.
"Damn, here I was waiting for an open invitation" he mettered under his breath.
He wiped the sweat from his brow and walked into the barracks, waiting to see his new crew.

Here comes the calvalry, thought Soren. Oh damn, they will be pissed when I tell them about Malaysia. Damn, I better get specs on training ready..
As Sergeant Davenport walked in the barracks, Soren finished his preparations in the briefing room. Using the PA system which alerted everyone inside and to an extent, outside the barracks about the news. Unfortunately, he just about forgot how to work the damn thing and how to say what he wanted, so he just said, " Combat personnel report to the briefing room for deployment orders and organization. We will be holding a briefing and firing excercises within the hour. "

Tass walked into the front door, moments before Davenport. He saw the woman using her knife in what was probably an unauthorized way, and nodded in greeting.
"Combat personnel report to the briefing room for deployment orders and organization. We will be holding a briefing and firing excercises within the hour. "
That must be me
Tass lead the way into the briefing room, and stood at the briefing table. There were enough chairs for ten, but Tass suspected less than that were schedualed to be here, plus one on the end, which was already filled.
"Captain Adam Tassulk, reporting"

The message blared in Davenport's ear. He shook his head, God, what were we regular army. Everything on a schedule. Damn, this guy was going to be a pencil pusher wasn't he. Oh well, maybe he'd spend some time in the field and get initiated inot the art of war.
"Captain Adam Tassulk, reporting"
"Seargant Davenport as well. I wasn't told about this briefing sir, I hope the clothes I'm wearing are fine."

Davenport grinned at the officer, "sir, yes sir." He sat down and strove to appear interested in what this intriguing officer had to say.

Tass sat down as well, and waited for others. Surely there were more than just the three of them and that officer?

"You are combat team Alpha, you two and that lady. You may want to know why your being pulled to a ****ing ****hole full of bull**** incompetent fools. Well guess what? Uncle Sam thinks you all need a nice vacation, to Malaysia."
"Chinese forces recently launches a major offensive into Southeast Asia. Unidentified vessels have been seen gathering off the coast of Malaysia. And guess the hell what? Our spies report that these ****tards are gonna invade Singapore and steal all of Asia's oil trade."
"You have been sent here for training. And guess what? If you screw up, you get a nice damn bullet hole up the ass."
Soren whipped a pistol from its holster and shot a direct bullseye in a target across the room.
"And it wont be easy not to get a ****ing bullet hole up the ass."

Davenport's ears rang as the insane officer fired the round. This guy was looney alright. He could fire a pistol though, had to give him that.
"Where do we draw our weapons?"

*Katt just sat at the table and listen to the profane briefing. being a private, she just planned n letting the higher ups ask the questions first.*
oh joy, malaysia... this whole mission sounds like a real winner....
