Here's everything you would need to know, really, to do anyting you want on the board. If you are interested in any RPG, just post in the Adventurer's Guild, under the Role Playing Ideas board. Just tell us any ideas you have for the RPGs, if you want to join them, which ones, characters, etc etc. If you want to create your own RPG, create a new thread in the Role Playing Ideas board, but be warned- any author that does not constantly update his/her RPG will find it rapidly falls into eternal spammnation.
BugsHunting (or Bugs itch): A sci-fi universe that is very open ended... players are allowed to add-on to the universe now and then, and most anything goes for characters, as long as its cool. Our longest running RPG, probably for a reason. The players character's play on both sides of the conlict- some trying to stop the evil infestation of the bugs, But others have already fallen prey to the bug's infestations, joining their ranks as eliete shock soldiers.
Soul Saber: A medieval/fantasy RPG, primarily concerning the adventures of a gorup of travelers (the players) who accidently come into possesion of an ancient artifact, the Soul Saber, which grants them both power and unwanted attention. The world is divided into two major hemispheres, the West and the East. The west thrives on inovation and creativity, with (relativly) high technology. The East builds upon honor and tradition, utilizing magic. The two halves have lived in peaceful co-existence for centuries. The adventure is curently taking place in the East, however, the group does contain some Western visitors.
GTARPG: Grand Theft Auto RPG. Welcome to Willsville, the sh**iest place on earth. Crime runs amok, cops are corrupt, and the only reason not to carry a gun is if you're too damn poor to afford it like everyone else. With the right steps, a good trigger finger, and a bit of luck, however, you can find yourself gaining fame and power in the criminal underworld. Watch your step, though- show a single weakness, and become another statistic at Willsville General Hospital. Characters are generally members of the underworld.
World RPG: Setting new standards... in procrastination. In the works for about a year, delay after delay after delay. And its all my fault, mostly. However, it is finally on the verge of starting. Players each run their own country- other then that, it is almost totally up to the players where to take the game. Depending on how the players play the game, this could become a war sim, an economics game, a social experiment... or any combanation thereof. The fist game can be considered a beta- only five players are playing for now. But if all goes well, a new one will be started, with as many players as want to join.
The club: Currently, the Tesseract. Its a... 'demi-RPG'. Basically its like a chat area, where random character sit in a bar and... do stuff. Out clubs have a habit of being blown up, bulldosed by cyborgs, immolated, nuked, or otherwise destructorized... so name changes do occur.
RERPG: Another Game tie-in RPG, this one is based off Resident Evil. New City comes under a terrorist attack, and the next thing you know, the dead are walking the streets, eating brains and being generally unfriendly. The players range from mechanics and store clerks to Umbrella scientists and eliete counter-terrorist soldiers- when the need arises, after all, heroes may pop up anywhere. This RPG, unfortunatly, has been gone for a long time... but hey... just who knows what can rise from the dead?
Project MAHO: Though never one of my favorites, it was once a popular RPG. Also dead for a long time, it revloves around a small group of gifted magic users, running from a seceret organization who hunts people to take advantage of their powers.
WaD: Though not exactly an RPG, you may see this from time to time. It's pronounced "wade", before you ask about the name
. It refers to all of the secret projects I run with the help of Dan, my very own diabolical scientist. It involves Fiction and RPGs- most of which still have yet to be even mentioned to the other members. Until the RPing really picks up they will probably remain that way, as well... nothing is worse then a hyped-up project with a failed launch, after all, especially for the makers.
Also, Dan is crazy. Be scared.
DSi: Another acronym. It means "DeSchryver Inc." We do a lot of things, like digital art, genetic mutation, world domination, market control, and weapons experimentation. But mostly digital art. Users are allowed to post any kind of art they come up with in this thread, of any medium or type, so long as its appropriate. And even if it isn't, a simple warning should be enough (after all, the F-word can be
very funny...)
As for RPing itself:
[/li][li]This means talking.
[/li][li]Cobra5: "So does this, if there are multiple characters speaking in one post"
[/li][li]
This is a character's thoughts[/li][li]
*This indicates actions or narration. Every user has their own color, and of course we share, too*[/li][li]((This is out-of-character talk))
Oh! Also about DSi. We make nackies,
the single best hexagonally-themed snack food on
Earth. You like them. You are also hungry. You will pay money for them. Now.
The post buttons:
Most are self-explanitory. Feel free to experiment. here they are in order.
-Bold, Italics, Underline, Strikethrough: Just what they look like.
-Glow, DropShadow: Give the text a colored outline. The color (default red) is obvious. The number is how big the glow is. For DropShadow, direction is which way the glow goes.[glow=red,2,300]Glow[/glow] [shadow=red,left,300]DropShadow[/shadow]
-Marquee: Moving Text! Anything in these brackets automaticly get their own line, and they endlessly march from right to left.
-Normal, left, center, right: As their icons show, this re-aligns text, paragraph style. FYI, you can't have more then one format on a single line, but the board will automatically sort that out for you... don't worry about it.
-Horizontal Rule: A short horizontal line. Generally not used. There's one near the top of this post.
-Size: Just as it implies, the size of the font. 2 is normal, 1 is smaller, and any number larger then 2 is bigger.
-Font: Type the name of a font, and it will display it. users will only be able to see fonts they have installed on
their computer... otherwise they will just see the default font. Example:
W. If you have symbol installed on your computer, you will see an Omega. If you don't have Symbol installed, you will see a capital W.
-Emote: Ignore this button. It adds an asterix and makes the font italics. Its only there becuase the "Flash/Shockwave" button used to be there, but people were using it to hack the boards.
-Link, FTP link: you can ignore these, too. If you just post an adress, it will automatically become a link. These buttons are for more advanced usage... using other command with the tags you can make different types of links.
-Image: A very important button. replace the URL with the adress of a picture, and it will post the picture instead of a link.
-Email: Same as the "Link" and "FTP Link" buttons. Special usage only. Just posting a normal E-mail adress should automatically format it.
-Table Buttons: UNless you know how to make tables in HTML, don't bother with these. If you do, then you probably wouldn't need these buttons anyway.
-Superscript, Subscript: Just what they say. They make the text
above or
below.
-Teletype: Allows you to see the future or past. Using the tags, type a date (MM/DD/YYYY::00:00:00) and spacial coridinates (xxxx/yyyy/zzzz) as per the central... well, ok, even I don't know what this button does.
-Code: creates a small window, inwhich you can type code without it having any other effect on your post.
-Quote: An important button, this allows you to copy and paste from another person's post. Just paste where it says "Text". There is also a quote button at the top right of every post, which lets you quote the whole post, including user and date information.
-List: allows you to make a bulleted list. you can add as many bracketed asterix as you want- each one becomes it own line automatically. If you add a bracketed asterix without using the 'list' button, it will add a bullet, but won't indent it.
-Colors Dropdown: This is a dropdown menu with a list of colors. Picking one will give you tags to type in color! This is also the list of colors that can be used with "DropShadow" and "Glow".
Some more general rules- don't double post, use "modify"... but nobody really cares, to be honest. Spamming will result in a severe beating from Bughunter, the Spamminator. You can of course refer us to other sites, but don't senselisly advertise. No racial slurs, insults yadda yadda 'Ban' blah blah 'you already know'. Swearing is fine, you can really say whatever you want, so long as its not seriously trying to hurt someone's feelings. If you write a long post, COPY it BEFORE you hit post. Very long posts are
sometimes lost due to lag in the server. It's rare, but when it happens, IT SUCKS. If you copy it, then you can just 'paste' it if it dosn't work the first time and try again. Trust me, its worth it. The first line of the news fader changes color, between green and yellow, each time it's updated- so if it was green, then you notice its yellow the next day, it has been updated.
And that's it! gl hf dd.
