Wahahahhaha! I would love a digital camera. For me it would be perfect, since I'm doing so much digital stuff nowadays. And I could load pictures from a digital camera instantly with my printer, which came with that ability. It even has slots for like 20 different types of camera memory cards.

I am not sure what it is, but an ordinary camera appeals to me more so than a digital one. Call me old fashioned, that's just how it is. Speaking of which: www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=2171244:drool: I WANT that camera! I saw it in the store the other day, 'tested' it out, and I LOVE IT!!! ;D

You know, nothing you post is easy to reply to, and you're not helping...

What would you need to reply to? I was adding my two cents about cameras...nothing there. *shrug*

er...
well in my experiecne with digital cameras they dont ever die. My parents have a really old (for a digital camera) 1.3 megapixel. We've had it for a long time and its really good.
Dans camera up here is the same, 1.3, and you can make HUGE pics with it (1600 x 1200). The point of a higher megapixel camera would be to make bigger pics, but if you are only using them for your computer why would you EVER need it more than that? (Most of your guys desktops cant go that high in resolution...)
As far as you "loving" that camera heather -- I'm sure you'd love any camera. You dont need a professional one. Plus you cant transferr original camera pics to a computer. Whats the point? I take pics and print them out...no developing....its awesome.
A digital camera is like anything else, if its taken care of it lasts....

Ok, the point of having a higher megapixel display, dan, is for making, as you said, bigger pictures. But the size of a big picture dosn't mean just its size- it means its resolution. If you taker a 1600x1200 picture and shrink it down to 800x600, it won't be as clear as a 3200x2400 picture shrunk down to 800x600.
THats a common tool in graphic editing... at least for me. When I scan a picture in, I edit it first, then shrink it down, becuase it increases the quality of a picture.
To put it simply, the more you shrink a picture, the clearer it gets (Unless you go too far, like 16x12 pixels or something, obviously). And the bigger a picture is, the more you can shrink it.
But 1600x1200 is big enough as it is.
My mom said she was going to get me one for christmas (since a digital camera is all I asked for), but since she got a computer for me she said she couldn't spend as much money as she would like. "If I get you one", she says, "I want it to be perfect. Like one of those... 5 megapixel ones."
In other words, I'm probably not getting one in a long time. I have $23 though. Awesome.

The video cameras and digital cameras my college have here are really fancy. I work in the equipment room in the art building now and even we aren't allowed to touch their most expensive and advanced camera, lol. But I haven't learned how to use them yet since I haven't had a film, photography, or editing class yet. I only know how to edit the pictures for now.
And Will, stop riding Heather so hard, give it up, man.

I understand that digital cameras are so much easier. I mean, you can retake a picture if you dont like it because you can see it right away. That is a good point, plus you can store more and more easily. I would not "love" just any camera, Will. The one I have now is particularly crappy and the focus is all out of whack. Its old, so I can understand, but it still stinks. There is a feeling that I like when I go to pick up my pictures from the developer, when I hold the originals in my hand. Its just something that makes me feel...good. I can always scan this pictures in, like uploading them directly from a digital camera, only it takes a little longer. If I take pride enough in them to share, then I can wait the time. Thanks, Francis, by the way.

Unfortunately, scanned pictures aren't as good as uploaded ones

I remember now, why everyone here got so fed up with you before, lol, you only scan posts, not read them fully...
