I'm unsure of how often I'll be popping up around here anymore. See, I'm sort of living at Will's house for a while, and when I use the computer, I don't really think to come here much. So I'll show up when the mood hits me, or when I'm chilling at home after work for a while, much like today. Also, does anyone know where to find that computer patch to force DST onto the internal clock?

I think windows update does it.

Yeah, I just got it off the windows update site.
No biggie. And hey, whatever saves power.

But it doesn't save power! All it does is screw up everyone's daily schedule and- I'll stop. Don't wanna rant right now.

Don't worry. Everyone here feels the same way as you, except me. But, I figure, it must make at least some miniscule change, at least, and besides, it happens, it happened, I might as well get what satisfaction I can. You know?

It does make a change, but not one that results in a net gain. Energy use decreases at night, but increases in the morning enough to balance it out.

Logical enough. Where Dan lives (Arizona) there is no daylight savings, they simply removed it. I suppose you've convinced me. Of all the people ranting and raving, a simple logical conclusion was all it took.

It used to be for farmers, I thought. Ya know, because back before the big machines and such it took some significant daylight to harvest the crops, and working in the dark wasn't really an option. But then, now we have big machines. . . do away with DST!
On the upside. . . I get to see daylight now.

It was for farmers, and also for saving candles since once a candle is burned down, it's gone forever and you have to buy or make a new one. Nowadays all it does it mess up schedules. Do you guys think people way up north have DST? I mean, they have daylight in general for about six months out of a year, right? Would they need that extra little hour tweak every so often? I'm thinking no, personally.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure a bunch of Canada doesn't do DST. And like Will said, at least a few states don't even bother. I guess when you think about it, DST isn't something to get really worked up about. We've got plenty of other more pressing problems as a country to deal with

Yes, but see, DST is the mostly likely to be dealt with and solved, sadly enough.

Bonjour guys!! Yo, i'm contacting from an internet cafe. Dont really have too much time. The keyboards here are different, its kinda messing me up as i type this. Luckily i found the button that switches from french to english.
PARIS IS FREAKING AWESOME!!!! This is already my last night here though. I've been everywhere! this city isn't so big. I feel that I know the layout better than NY. Completely figured out the Metro in only 3 days, whereas i still dont get the NY subway at all. Its so easy to get around. I've completely explored the city without using a car once, except for the night we used a taxi cus the metro closed down. I've been to the top of the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Louvre (i saw Mona Lisa with my own eyes!), the Musee de Orsee (i love this museum!), the Arc de Triumph, etc. etc.! Even got to visit some artists' homes! You can't do that on normal tours of the city. Its been fantastic! My legs are tired as hell and i think i lost 5 pounds. We even biked along side the Sienne river. the best bike ride i ever had. I took tons of pictures! got over 1600! Tons and tons of them are of the Eiffel Tower since thats what my project was on (of course). I'm totally dead tired now. Phew, i got a lot of photos to post online when i get home.
Time's almost up, I'll try to read the posts later. ttyl

Awesome, I'm still jealous, even though its France (I've talked to other people who have been there, and they didn't like it).

Bonjour again, i'm finally back in the states! "bonjour" and "merci" are still ingrained into my head and I'll probably be saying them for the next few days Greetings from the CAT class in Paris! This shot was taken by a professional photographer whose studio we got to visit. Its actually not the final real shot, but its the polaroid that comes out so that you can see how the real film will look like. The dude was a funny guy, and then we found the prop box, hehe. He wrote the "CAT" with a light bulb while we sat in the dark. Took a good 10 minutes to get this shot right. Never do a kneel pose when you have to pose for more than 5 minutes
