New GTARPG Ideas and Info

If your new here, your arent exactly the best choice. Take some time to get a feel for the board before you become a GM-like role. I made the mistake of trying that to early, and my RPG is dead. And please, work on your spelling and grammar.

Its simple: Look on your keyboard. Put your finger on the space bar. Remmember this key well, and press it after each period and comma. Now move your finger right across from the keyboard until you see the control key. Good, see it? Move your finger up until you find the 'Enter' Key. It should have an arrow going at a 90 degree angle on it. Once you see it, remmember the Enter key too, because you need to press it seperate concepts et cetera, so your paragraphs are readable. Now, one key down from the enter-key, the Shift Key. Don't be an abolitionist, because on the first letter of the first word of every sentence, you have to capitalize the letter using this key. Im sorry if you get mad at me, but not using these simple steps irritates me, because I loathe totally incorrect spelling and grammar. I don't care if you use 'LoL' or '1337 5p33k', but atleast use correct grammar and spelling.

And does it matter if your sentence starts with an "And"? Not really. I really think you should stop swearing, because if you'll notice, nobody swears here. Im not going to turn this in to a full-scale argument, bud. And I think you 'God Role' idea was great, but it was very hard to read, which is why I post what I did. and 'if u wanna fuckin get all grily grammer school' Well, what age do you think you are? I'm 11, and its true. You're probably a 1337-a-be 12 year old , and I should stop pointing out the things that people do wrong before I myself get banned. Catarax, look on the news articles at kitsune. Use him as an example of a person with great grammar and spelling, but who needs to think about breathing .

alright, time to draw upon my modly powers! (i mean, i know you guys arent really fighting or argueing or anything but just wanna get this overwith)

well actully, first of all, Hi Catarax, i didnt realize we actully had a new member who posted. welcome aboard! and what coral said about swearing is kinda true, but i mean its not an enforced rule or anything. we never really had and problems with it, so guess he was just trying to point out that we dont want to make it a problem.
and with the RPG idea (a good idea in my opinion, btw) i think that excatly who is going to play GM or god or whatever will involove a little more discussion. this RPG has been idle long enough to be proclaimed 'dead' but its great to see new intrest in it. I know Ford and me and Cobra are all still intrested so we'll have to get them in on this. then we can really talk the actual re-opening of this RPG ;D.
oh yeah, one more thing, which is what i think coral was pointing out to begin with (a little harshly, might i add. tsk tsk) is that the people on this board usually spend a little more time in typeing here then they do on instant messenger. i suppose we really dont mind in normal discussion, but in our RPGs we like to keep everythign pretty neat and legiable. so if your posting in an RPG, just try to be a little more careful. were not asking for english class or anything, just be legable.

and to coral- ease up on the new guy, lol. i never really saw you as a person to fire a warning shot or anything but you dont have to open full auto either. but anyway, im sure if it gets to be a real problem (which i really dont think it will), then well do something about it. but as of right now, everthings a-okay. (and whats wrong with being an abolitionist? )

and neither of you have to worry abouy being banned or anything. thats something we do very rarely around here... i mean the whole time this boards been open, its only happened twice. and one of which is already back among us (or well, was temporarily...) and the other one... well he diserved it. little bouts like this are nothing.

but ANYWAY, back to the important stuff, like the RPG! we'll have to rememeber that this is Matt (ford) and Will's (cobra's) RPG, so were gonna have to wait for them for any real decisions. but i think they'll both be happy that peopel are gaining more intrest in it, even throwing in new ideas. we'll wait for them.

Bio: I was born and raised here. My mother came here from South Africa, and my father had already lived here. I had two sisters and a older brother.
I hated my family for the most part. I was always out, into some kind of drug, and never home. We didnt have the best house anyways. My father barely made money, and my mother didn't work. Our house was barely standing.
Then come to find out my brother had gotten into some mess. He messed up with some mob, or gang or something and he was on the run. Thing was, he ran straight home. I saw the whole thing; black cars pulling up, running in. I didn't hear anything, but screams, and plates smashing. I had stopped in my tracks, peaking behind a tree. Then the men walked out, I saw one put his silencer into his inside coat pocket.
"Burn it" a fat man said and they entered the car. A few other men got some lighter fluid from the trunks, and went inside. They poured it all the way, to the last broken step of my slanted porch and the guy dropped the cigarette.
I watched the flames travel into my home. My shitty ass dump of a house, with a family I couldn't stand. I was completely helpless. I couldn't think of anything to do, but cry. As soon as I heard sirens I jetted. I wasn't about to be convicted with something I didnt do.
For a while, I stayed with friends. Did some drugs, drank alot. I was overly-depressed. Then seeing it in the newpaper.
"Family of 5 shot down, in cold blood. Then house burnt to the ground."
I was devastated. They had no idea who had done it, and they couldn't tell the faces, so they couldn't investigate into it. I was pissed about that, and I know those police where being payed hush money from the mob.
After my friends wouldn't let me stay, I took to the streets. I started stealing and pick-pocketing. I even stole a combat knife for protection, I'm pretty good with it too. I have been homeless for about a year.

Firstly, the GM (game master) idea. Yeah, its a good idea. Not overly controling, but someone to throw out ideas. We did have somewhat of a system, but it really lacked orginization and didn't work. A second try is a good idea, though.

And I think, spontinuity is important. You can't tell the players where to go- you have to deal with what their doing, not vice versa.

I think the best idea for this system would be to do what we did with soul saber- rotate GMs. If sombady had an idea for a storyline, they'd say, "hey, think I could GM for a while" and the current GM would say "Sure, I'm almost done with mine" or something like that. And so it would continue. It worked pretty well while Soul Saber was our #1 RPG.

As for spelling, no biggie. Legible is all that's needed, but look at my spelling. Just read a couple of my '12-foot-long posts' in the "New (Sortof) RPG". My spelling sucks, and I'm admin

Now, for the new character. Its great- really fits the GTA mood. I'm guessing you've played the game

Don't worry about your RPing skills around here- We've got all kinds, from Ford, who dosn't use many words, but really gets his point across (with a sence of humor, I might add), to Deimos, someone who should get rich off a book.

To the new members, a quick overview. My character "Will" is also homeless, and usually poor- but he's got a customized PSG-1, M82, two STMPs, and a motercycle... usually no money. He's a profesional hitman. A real grumpy, profesional hitman, with a severe case of supiriority complex. If you can afford him, which most can't, and put up with his 'personality', which is even more dificult, you'll have a dead man when you want it, where you want it.

Katt owns a bar- "the Bullet" (or "Bullit" to some... ). Its where all the characters meet. It just so happens to be the bar that we are all at at just the right times. Its also where all of our characters have met so far.

Tassatul's character, "Adam", is a very high ranking member of Titan Co. If it involves "Illegal", Titan Co. has their hand in it. And if its a gun, Adam has it. Titan Co. is the official legal name of a manufacturing company, which is actually the front of what is bassically the biggest black market trade in the world.

Ford's Character "matt" is the former leader of a gang, The Wreckers. The Wreckers broke up, but are sitll in contact with eachother. They were the best car theifs in the city. Matt is said to have a secret colection of cars, which include the most desireable and expensive cars in the city, but nobody has ever seen it.

Those are the big players. Not many others really participated majorly, unless I'm really forgetting someone.

one more idea was to have some more shop owners like the wreckers ex-gang leader guy own a gar shop or somin so u can buy some cheap illegel wheals. i live with a friend that fixes cars for cheap "hint, hint." aswell other illegal operations.stuff like that, also going into buisness with eachother and so on. also we should update the map just so new people can kinda over veiw the whole situation. just some idea's

i had a bussiness, it was a gas station/garage type thing, but i like the idea of a dealership. second i not only have very cool cars i have trucks, and boats, and anything that has an engine.

and i'm in, i just need my main vehicle to be updated to my real truck and i'm ready to go.
