yeah guys, sorry about the delays on just about everything... will had the brilliant idea to switch all of the computers around before we had the cable to swap all of the info. now our (or what used to be) main computer is in isolated lump which all of the information is stranded in a lonely hard drive... no router or internet or nothing... and out attempts to move the information via brain waves isnt working as well as we'd hoped...

Sorry if im a little late, But I'd like to take #3, or if you could make a small little island for me if thats taken.
Name: Wijk
Flag: A blue flag, with a wavy light blue line going through it, to symbolize the country's love of water.
National Currency: Zifrendricks (~'s, ZFs, or Zefs) a substance made of limestone, chipped to be a near-perfect rectangular prism. Very valuable due to it's hand made quality.
Capital: Schalkwijk, on the tip of the shortest peninsula
Leader: Emperor Frederick Reights
Terrain: A relitavely rocky and mountainous country in the middle, Wijk has concentrated all of its population centers to be on the coast, where farms and grasslands are.
Internal Agencies: Wijkzen'fretzan (Frontier Technology)(Research Agency) Wijkzen'Wvande-storeen (Frontier Millitary Organization)(Millitary Agency)
History:
A country torn by civil wars, this country has basically no timber. It relies on its weapons, ore, and food trades to get timber and oil. The country's population, who mostly all have at least one weapon, are always on the look out for the first sign of a civil war, because they do NOT want another.
Wijk, which means 'Frontier' in the country's language, Varenfrazzel, is really a country of frontiers. From the mountains in the middle, to the sea on the outside, there is only a thin ring of habitable spots, which makes the country on the constant search for technologies. Wijk, due to its low population, makes nearly EVERYONE work on research, mining, fishing, or defending the country.
Culture: The motto is the equivalent of 'The man who flees the battlefield to fight another day'. They believe in fighting long distance, trying to minimize casualties on both sides as to keep with political views. The are a warring culture, nonetheless.
Specializations: Weapons Technology

your....11? holy crap dude....lol thats really good. Unfortunately one problem remains. There are only five countries avalible for play during this peliminary test of this rpg and they have all been taken -- sorry bud...... 1 = Adam (tass) 2 = me (Dr. Dan whos gonna crush EVERYBODY!!! 3 = al (demios) 4 = heather (palla) 5 = Cass (CopyCatt) You were a tad late on grabbing number three. Sorry about that.... although remember that this is a peliminary run of the rpg, its in no way the final verson or the only game we will play. This is a test run. Depending on how this run goes, we Will will (haha ) modify it accordingly and then re-start the rpg with more countries (maybe) or we will rotate out somebody who dosnt want to play this round. Hopefully this rpg wont take too long (a few months if all goes well, which isnt a long time on a board that will live forever). Sorry about that! Personal Message yourself the draft of your country however so you can use it for the next round, that way you'll have it when you need it.

The problem is, remember, I have to computer every country every weekend. Myself. How many countries do you think I could handle? Thats why we are running this test game.
The real thing may have many more countries and be much larger, or it may be smaller.

UPDATE:
Will has just obtained his original copy of PSP8 (paint shop pro 8) again, and now will pick up work on this rpg again. I certaintly hope that everybody interested is still interested in this! If not, we can always use Coral to replace them. Hes pretty much secured the "just in case" slot with his pretty cool country.

Yes! Yes! I'm very sorry for holding you guys up!
I must go mow my front lawn. Afterwards, I will begin imediatly.
What must be done- [/li][li]Remake the map. It will be double its original size and contain a number on every region.
[/li][li]Assign the starting resources of every player, as well as calculating the number of mines, farms, oil deposits, and forests each country has, etc...
[/li][li]Type up the status reports of the first turn.
And then I PM those status reports to you, and the game has begun!!

Dont forget calculating how many resourses we get from each deposit, and starting population avalibility to each country, not to mention the population increase per city................

Hey, I saw about the oil and stuff. Alcohol is a valid substitute for oil, but it cost more. So then, you could convert some food regions to alcohol producing places, but it would cost money per turn, OR you would have to have 2 Alcohol units to equal 1 oil units, OR alcohol could be merely a luxury product to increase soldier morale, hehe.

alcohol? lol dont think so -- but its an idea I suppose. This was supposed to be a little more realistic I think -- thats why he chose the resources he did, cause its realistic to fight over those.

hey! I finally found the post about a "world" RPG, since nobody directed me to it even though everyone invited me to join... anyway, I read the first page and it sounds uber-cool! I'm definetly in if it wouldn't be too much trouble to fit me in. I can make a name/flag/story and such, just tell me what I need to do. also... well I only read the first page, it's pretty intimidating, so could someone like sum it up for me?

Heh. Oh and about power, woudnt the cities use oil to power the city? And another resource could be 'Fresh Water'. Water is needed to keep food region fertile, and if you dont have as much 'Water' resource as you do food regions, food regions start to dry out. Also, Pollution. If you have the right technology, you could recycle it into ore or something, but it pollutes water sources. Therefore, if a country had only one river, you could dirty bomb it and watch them starve. Rivers and coastline tides could also be a source of power.
(Alcohol would be a temporary substitute for oil, but it would be more costly, and food regions making alcohol wouldnt produce food. Alcohol would only be a long term alternative to countries with lots and lots of farms and food regions, because you would have to pay to extract the alcohol, and then perhaps 3-5 alcohol would equal one oil.)

you see, will is the "gm" for all of this and has to keep track of EVERYTHING. Thats too much to keep track of, he has TONS to keep track of already.

Well, scrap that idea then, lol. Perhaps a better idea is an assistant GM to do the easier OR harder computations.
