Well lets take a quick glance at the original Blue Jester painting. What you're seeing in the new drawing might be the result of me moving my pen really fast on the paper in order to finish it faster and thus lengthening his limbs and making it have a bit more stretchy feeling. In the original painting I worked a whole lot slower (as in it took 2 months to finish) and his anatomy is more realistic and less exaggerated. Also, in the new drawing u can't see any facial lines. So maybe that's it. But hey, as long as the impression of the picture is positive, Its groovy. And he is supposed to be a very youthful and energetic fellow, even though he's older than the other characters. And he definitely needs to be flexible and limber. So i guess I'm sending the right message.

Will, his shoulder doesn't look like a blob. To me, it looks like the head of a giant screw, really. Also, you succeeded with the armor not standing out, mostly. I didn't take actual notice to the armor on his arm, legs, or on his boot. The only thing I noticed were the straps holding the chest piece on so that one drew attention. I like how the armor for the leg looks because it reminds me of the kinds of armor you see in LotR when they put cloth under metal for more comfort. Also, metal on boots is always cool, always. And I will begin harming you if you put down your pictures so much.

When I wrote the description i just pictured a square cage the size if a ps2 game case with a thick top and bottom and four little bars on each side, but the more I've RPed with him the more it's warped into some twisted ominious curvy contraption and I just don't know how to go about putting it on paper.

Hah! That's exactly what I had in mind with him. In fact I was going to tell you, give him an Ushanka (one of the russian wool hats there, that's what they are called) and "I'm thinking a brown and red color style"... Perfect. And Sarah, yeah, it's a big screw. I'm glad everyone else recognized that, I was afraid people would think its like an X marking or something. The part that looked blobby to me is the area under it, there is detail there on paper, but after the camera its just a black blob. I didn't mean to "bash my own art", as you put it... I was only saying how dissatisfied I was with how the camera takes pictures of stuff like that. My own drawing must've been pretty good, because it conveyd everything I had in mind for him (even stuff I didn't put into the picture directly it seems, judging from the accuracy of Francis' design ) And to Zoner, I tend to always picture simple things in my mind... I prefer characters with a utilitarian look, and go away form things that are ornate (Like, I prefer a simple longsword to something engraved or wavy or something). So I couldn't any clues as to how it could become a twisted looking contraption, as you describe it. Then again, I'm not really one of the forum artists.

Speaking of our characters, I was surfing the internet, and saw the a picture of Vincent as he looked in Advent Children, and realized I had modeled my character after him (other than the tattoos, of course). Orginality right out the window, I suppose I like the idea of having only have of the body covered in armor. It reminds me a bit of Dune, where there were half-shields, which (hence the name) only cover one side of the user's body. It implies a bit of skill in fighting, as your entire body isnt protected, so you have to know what youre doing.

i imagine that would be uncomfortable, though. But all good armor would. Scalemail pinches and platemail hangs with too much weight, so half plate is pretty smart

Hey Will, you might notice that the first (unfininshed) sketch of Will kinda makes him look like a scientist/engineer with that kind of jacket he had. So then I went in search of a more Russian type of coat and slapped that on. Now he looks like an engineer/tinker that can handle himself moderately in a fight. And dangit, I dont have a picture of you. If you wish for me to make your characters even more of a caricature of yourself, I would need a better picture of your face so i can draw it in.

It's probably just me, but the face that's on the full-body guy (just the face, not the gear) reminds me of John Lennon.

I'd like to get me a pair of those circle glasses that John Lennon had. Hey, have you ever seen his son nowadays? He looks and sounds just like his father, its freaky. He's also making his own music too.

Yeah. I read in a magazine that his son doesn't release new albums very frequently (like almost 7 years in between two of them it said), but since he looks like him, sounds like him, and has Lennon for his last name, his music career is solid nonetheless.

well he's trying to find his own style. He realizes the significance of his background but he's trying not to let it shape who he is, and I can respect a guy like that.

I know that, but the magazine made a good point in saying that to any other musician, it would be extremely damaging to their career.
