I demand that someone build one of those because that'd just be too damn cool.

Oh hey, I've seen this before. This clip won like best animation project award from somewhere. I forget the name of it, but its part of a set of 3D animations. Title has something to do with sound. There's 2 DVD's and I want them. I've seen all of them. They are all so freakin amazing. I'll post up the real name of them later. Its top notch animation. Out of all them, this clip was the most impressive and they made a second one using the exact same setup but with music that was even more involved and put the ball bearings to their limit.
Animusic is what its called!! numbers 1 and 2

A sketch i made while waiting for my next class. Took it back to my room and went crazy with it. Look, its Egakino! Check out his short entry for Clown Societies that I found in Wikepedia. Its interesting in that it discusses the roles of the clown for society as a whole and points out that circus clowns were the only persons allowed to criticize the gov't of the former Soviet Union. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clown_society

I have ideas and doodles now for my guy as well. He wears armor over half of his body... I don't think I could really describe it. And I am without a scanner still... and for quite some time it seems... I think, this sketch is my favorite representation of the "blue Jester" type character of yours so far. The mask is a nice touch... I started getting a like for masks since I saw Mesmers in Guild Wars.

Yeah, I didn't imagine the mask either. It kinda reminds me of the dude from Hunchback of Notre Dame.

my mental image of the cage is too difficult to draw, i'll have to leave it out. Pity that.

How did you guys picture Egakino anyway? I'm curious.
You know, I think I might encorporate the mask as part of his character inventory. Ever since I saw the movie MirrorMask, I've had a thing for masks now (its also inspiration for the name of the circus Egakino comes from -- The Shining Mask Circus. Or was it Shiny Mask...). Maybe I'll make it so that everyone from his Circus wears masks of their own, just like in MirrorMask. Okay, so ever since you guys first met Egakino, he's had his mask on. They have a thing where they dont let people see their real faces, at least not for extended periods. Go with that.
Oh and the ball he rolls on is supposed to be bigger than the one in that picture. I think I said the ball was 5 feet tall, or was it 3 feet... Oh well, bigger than the picture. Maybe I should make it so that he can choose how big it is by his will, the maximum being 5 feet tall.

I imagined he looked like that jester painting. Also, I imagined that the cage looks like one of those classic birdcages where it domes at the top, but made of gold. Dunno why. It looks good in my head though.

my mental image of the cage is too difficult to draw, i'll have to leave it out. Pity that. To be honest, I pictured it exactly like the cages in WCIII, if you've ever played it. Like a regular cage hanging from a pole. Or like the one holding Deckard Cain in Diablo II. As for how I pictured Egakino, I pictured him being pretty short, with pretty pale skin. He wasn't "skinny" but instead, just a little muscular. Other then that, like you're previous pictures of the Blue Jester. [edit] I like this most recent redition the best, as I said before. it almost looks like he's a kid and an adult at the same time, and that fits the character perfectly. I got a picture of one of my pictures of the ideas for my guy. Dunno if I'll stick with it or not for sure, but I do really like it. And I figured out why after I "scanned" (Read: Digital camera) things always looked a little weird... my camera, the way I hold it, skews and stretches vertically just a little... I fixed it by skewing and cropping the picture, and it came out looking MUCH more like it does on paper, other then the yellow tint. Some details still really don't come out, like the shoulder especially. It looks kind of like a big blob. I wanted it to look like the armor didn't draw too much attention, sort of like if you looked at him, you might not notice he was wearing any at all at first. Also like he was just strapping armor over regular clothes. I don't really know how well I succedded in either of those. Also, I wanted certain aspects to look unnecessarily complex. I originally wanted his belt buckles, for example, to have keyholes and gears. I didn't put in too much detail, though, this was more of a brainstorming picture you know?

heh, Thats funny cus just tonight I was picturing your character with a trench coat. So is it just one side has the armor or did you draw it as if like a cut-out view? You dont mind if I try to render him out of that, do you? I dont know why you're calling it a new rendition. To me its the exact same body and costume I've given him before. I just put the red mask on this time. Unless you mean "rendition" as just a new drawing. The sketch I really did quickly in like 30 minutes. I didn't intend for him to have the mask on for the rpg but I just drew in just for fun, but now I think it will stay. And its funny you say he looks like a kid and an adult at the same time because this drawing is sorta like a mixture of my first painting of him at the circus as an adult and that painting of him as a kid at Halloween, since that was the first time i put the mask on him:

No its not a cut away, he literally only has armor over half his body. So in a fight or something, he has one armored side to always keep facing the enemy (Or, for example, if he is standing up holding a rifle to his shoulder, the enemy would only be able to see the armored side of him). Technically then, it should be his left side that is armored, but I armored his right side by accident (no biggie really). And about the whole "rendition" thing.... I don't know, he looks different to me... his face and body. He seems skinnier and more childlike. Sort of like he grew to adult size, but didn't get the muscle definition of an adult (I can't really describe what I'm seeing really... ) And his face, well we can't see it, but in the mouth and expression... I don't know. It just looks like a slightly different person to me.
