My one current college course is awesome. By awesome, i mean simplistically easy. Its US history and govt, and we havent had homework since the first quarter. The teacher said the work was too much for her to correct, so she stopped giving it out. And stopped testing as well. Last quarter we had 2 tests, no homework, and occasionally some "bellringers" or questions at the beginning of class about the previous day's lesson. I got a 97 + 10% grade weight

You guys are so negative about education.

People look at it the wrong way is all. Everyone thinks that school is supposed to teach you and make you smart, but that's not true. Its to prepare you and teach you responsibilty and punctuality. 95% of the stuff you learn you will never ever use again after high school and collage, yet, without school people would not have anything to model themselves after before they get into the work force.
Get what I'm saying? That's how I see it, anyway.

hehe, responsibility and punctuality. You definitely fit that description, Will I have to admit - school is what you make it. If you're not willing to do anything, then you're not gonna learn squat. But, if you're motivated, then the skies the limit. Thank God i decided to get up off my butt at one point. As a result i excelled... to an extent... but a good extent. But never, ever take school and education for granted.

i'm with Will, without it- I would be a very different person- upreparedness would be incredible (far worse than it is now) not only that...but some of the stuff i've attained have been used in my creations (especially stuff from Honors and AP History as well as English) .Sure, where i'm going- i'll be using about 30% of what i've learned through my entire educational career but that 30% ONLY applies to my future career, as for life- that percent would be MUCH larger.
Not only that, but I really have to credit the schools i've been to for the friends i've made...i'd be one of the world's greatest hermits without it. The social aspect of education shouldn't be ignored...there's something that took me a while to figure out.

hehehe, I hear that, partner. but man, i'm so tired... I just got back from taking that placement test for my college. And what a coincidence that we're talking about the validitidy of school. On my test i had to write an essay. I chose the topic of "From difficult experiences, we get valuable lessons for the future". and guess what i wrote about -- the difficult experiences of high school, lol ;D. From the BS of tests, to the pressures of socializing, it was exactly this conversation, lol. But i pretty much BSed that essay... well what can you ask for when you only have 45 minutes to write an essay... Everything else was pretty easy, except for the college math section... But overrall i did pretty well (i got see my scores right away since i took it on a computer). But there were a lot of things i didn't expect -- like the essay, the easy stuff being really easy (like the simple arithmetic), and the hard stuff (the college math section, which had things from trig and calc, which i've forgotten or never even got to), and it being 3 HOURS LONG! ...ugh. But i came, i saw, and i kicked its ass!!! Hoorah! ;D
