Had Freshman Orientation today. Man, what a crazy group. This place is mostly filled with inner city black kids. So when we were watching this hilarious skit that was full of sass, everyone and i mean EVERYONE was whoopin and holerin! They definitely loved it. Holy cow. Man, i dont have to be raunchy and rowdy here, everyone else is already more vulgar than i ever could. So many people in the audience call out that the faculty dont even really bother to quiet them down. What did i get myself into... Oh well, besides their wild nature, i've met quite a bit of the people. I can't believe i even accomplished so much today -- got through the orientation which seemed to last FOREVER (and its freakin hot out here...), got my books, got my schedule (which i by the way i had to wait an hour and 40 minutes in a line which wasn't even that long to get... luckily all those hours standing at the theater door prepared me), and got my student ID, which looks horrible, lol. Man, what a place. And my roommate is still MIA. Not that i really mind for now. A whole dorm all for myself, hehehehe ;D. Maybe I'll wait a week before i report it.

well, it seems like someone settled in I missed my orientation since I had to wait to get a rental (the van would NEVER had made it this far), so I came in lost, a day late- and missing my assessment test- you're lucky

wow... i dont even know how you got through that.
Hey, the food here is actually great. Once again, i am surprised. I go to the cafeteria for the first time, pay up front with my ID card, and then I'm like to the lady, "how much do i get?", and she says "as much as you want". I was like really? I turn around and theres a freakin buffet and salad bar. All of it tastes good! Along with the milk dispensers, soda dispensers are right next to them! Yes! Even ICE CREAM!!! I was like, are you serious?! And they're like, yea. And the eating area looks pretty cool. I definitely aint gonna starve here, wohoo! ;D

well- personally, i'm doing fine- got plenty to live off here- not to mention the money I saved from work is really coming in handy now...
but I still hope at least one of my applications falls through soon -even one at Dunkin Donuts... because as long as my old work savings is going to last, I still need a solid job...

lol Wow, I'm in culinary arts and you eat better than I do, BugHunter! But, my college is horrible..... [glow=red,2,300]IF ANYONE READS THIS THAT WANTS TO GO INTO CULINARY ARTS, don't go to le Cordon Bleu.....[/glow] At least, not at Brown College. I was going to go into VisCom here (you know, play on the computers, making devart and other digital candy, while the instructor rattles on about how to use cut-and-paste in some lame program like MS Paint), but I decided that it would be worthless to me because I already knew a lot of the stuff we'd be learning in Computer Graphics and such.... So, I went to culinary school..... Never make the same mistake I did!!

Oh my goodness...
Is it still only the first day of college? Ugh... guys, i just got back from my Animation class and hoooollllllyyyyy crap........ I met my professor and he is HARDCORE! This class is gonna require my entire devotion. Alfred, i wonder how your classes were like. Maybe I should ask you for advice. I thought i was prepared for this, like a soldier fully geared and ready for war, but when i entered the battlefield, i encountered an army i dont think i can handle unless i cut all my crap. I mean seriously, i'm gonna have to resupply on all my equipment, call in reinforcements, and supply on technology that doesn't even exist in my ranks, and still pray to God! (sure most of that is metaphorical, but you get what i mean) So regretably, at least for a good while, I think I'm gonna have to retire from the forum... I got some RESEARCH to do, my friends. Man, the food was just a front, college is hell!!! I think my ass is grass out here...
So, I bid you all farewell!
somebody help me.....

Animation class, eh? I'd love to get into that. Can't draw much, but so far so good with flash... I've got so many good ideas I really want to put out there, as I'm sure a lot of people do. And I really want to learn a way to do that. Its all for the spots on your resume'... And thats how I feel trying to learn flash. All the tutorials and guides and stuff are like "This is the layers panel. Layers are like blah blah blah (cut and paste from every other tutorial on every site about every program that involves graphics at all) so I'm basically teaching it to myself. Just like PSP... which is better then photoshop! Hah, I said it again!! bwahahah! *runs away from graphic industry, which is chasing cobra with a baseball bat*

HOLY @#$%! IF YOU CAN'T DRAW, YOU'RE DEAD OUT HERE! My professor just cut off like 5 people ON THE FIRST DAY!!! Anyone not in an art major was immediately targetted. Well i guess he had to since he could only have 16 people -- only 16 G5 computers -- but holy crap, right away he's firing shots! Duck and cover man, this guy is out to get us!
Well i guess tough ass professors are the best teachers, but holy crap, this guy takes absolutely no crap!!! Seriously!!!

that' college- all the teachers here hold nothing back: "that's simply horrible desgin" or "that could really, REALLY use a LOT of work" flies around a lot here, but i'm use to that already... i'll be dropping you a line about this
as for my classes- first semester-first year students are shafted with uber-basic classes...ugh...but it's still straining- exactly the kind of work that isn't fun...easy work that takes all the energy out of you...and eats up HOURS of time...
and to Alys- doing Culinary eh? that's pretty cool i'd say- and also, I notice that you said 'devart' you on DeviantArt?
