Yeah, and anyway, your entrance was as smooth and clean as a straight razor shave. Not only was it flawless, imo, but it had nothing to do with the squabble that had been taking place, and I thought that was a pretty idea/way to go about entering the picture. Kind of outside the box in a way, I guess. Shes right, when I saw your first post I thought "oh god, wall of text crits you for 40000." Then I went ahead and read it, and it was good stuff, well written. So my suggestion of the day: paragraphs are your friend On a note unrelated to this RPG, but having to do with undeath. . . Who thinks its possible for a Lich to be a good guy? I was just thinking about Tass the necromancer (of Soul Saber), and lich seems like the next step in power.

I do. I have a neutral Lich character as a sort of uber-power in my D&D campaign, so a good Lich is just one step further, right?

Tottally! In some situations in the lore of some cultures, certain undead are just people that have every reason to be dead, but aren't, and gain unnatural abilities, like dieing in life was the last peice of the puzzle that they needed to complete to unlock a gift-or an earthly damnation. I see no reason for them to all be grouchy : )

Haha, nice. My first thought was that it just wouldnt make sense, but then, I've been playing World of Warcraft for about a year now, where anything necromancer or undead is pretty much labeled evil (with the notable exception of the forsaken and warlocks). Other than being a bad guy, Kel'Thuzad is like my bro

There are so many amazing things about the beliefs of cultures to learn, espescially native americans, if the american indians influenced roleplaying it would be a whole different experience!

A good lich, it would be cool, but he wouldn't be able to look like a normal lich, you know?
Perhaps, looks like a normal human, but pale skin... and then some bony protusion(s)? Like... like wings or something. Just bones, like skeletal wings with no actual wing parts... because when evil becomes undead, that would make it all demonic, but good undead, that would make it like angelic? Just thinking out loud. Or, if a good undead person did look all dead, they would have to wrap themselves up, like the guy from Soul Reaver (if you remember that)
As for alternate cultures influencing RPGs, we have had ideas like that in the past, nothing really came of it. Sarah (DaftAlchemest) was trying to start an Arabian themed RP, but it didn't get off the ground.

I think there might have been a teensy-weensy little fault in communication. I hadn't meant a theme, because that doesn't effect the experience of rpgs, it simply makes the player have to adjust for a single rpg. But instead if it had more of an over-all effect, something more widespread where not all influence goes to ancient French and English colonies (palaces, witches, elves, dragons, trolls and such). Imagine having a more spiritual journey in a world where the winds and the great stone in the sky and fortune itsself are forces that can be befriended and employed in your travels!

Oh, yeah, I get you. I misunderstood, but I get you now. I have written similar stories... two come to mind. Both were creation myths. I love the style. [edit]This has gotten way off topic

To hell with being off-topic. We're still talking about role-playing, aren't we? There are so many amazing things about the beliefs of cultures to learn, espescially native americans, if the american indians influenced roleplaying it would be a whole different experience! I like you. ;D I like learning about cultures and beliefs from all over the world, and even ancient civilizations. They really are interesting, and most times it's the creation myths each culture has that tells you the most about them. I made a creation myth for English class, but it was more influenced by Middle-earth's creation story since I was reading the Silmarillion at the time, and it was also entirely made to be funny. I loved it anyway though.

lol when you mentioned a bar song in the rpg i kept thinking of one that always made me laugh
Oh the night that Paddy Murphy died, is a night I'll never forget Everyone got stinkin' drunk, and they ain't got sober yet; As long as a bottle was passed around every man was feelin' gay O'Leary came with the bagpipes, some music for to play
Someone hollered for the cops; they busted down the door They jumped upon ol' Paddy's back and they laid him on the floor They knocked him twice behind the ears and they knocked him on the head When they jumped up from his back, sure they found out he was dead
Mrs. Murphy started in, battled with them cops She chased 'em, every one of them; she chased 'em several blocks A lovely time was had by all, eighteen in court were tried For having caused a riot on the night Pat Murphy died And long as whiskey hit the mugs, not one soul shed a tear, And the more they drank and drank, their words were more unclear. The only thing they did that night to fill me heart with fear, was when they took the ice right off the corpse and put it in the bear
