will, its the concept...he was angry and let his feelings fly...that should at least merit a "stop" from you on at least ONE of the thousands of threads that he did that in. (its over now francis, I'm not trying to get you in trouble I'm just poining out the concept) Hey, what can i say. I get withdrawal symptoms -- Sometimes i just feel like going back to being an a##hole, hehehe  . Cause the server that this website is saved on died, possibially cause there was too many people on proboards or too many webpages hosted by proboards being accessed.

Yeap. I'm gonna look for a new host... I though geocities would have enough bandwith... arg...
Um, well, the most it will be down for is an hour. It could be any amount of time between a minute and an hour... It depends on when exactly the bandwith runs out.

Servers are more around the $7/mo range, and even then, they have their bandwith limits (although usually WAY more then what we would need).
And I can't even get lunch money, AND I don't have a creditcard. So yeah...
I'll find a free server SOMEWHERE... I hope

I said one dollar per person -- I'm sure that between all of us on the board we can scrape up 7 bucks a month -- and when we are all in college and stuff then we'll send you dollar bills in little envelopes.  and if we did do this, can we put songs on the board? (either for dl or when you click a certain page it starts playing?) could we put other things for dl? so we could all give eachother cool things? Like when somebody wants a game or something we can just post it on the board for a few days until everybody has it, and then take it off? and could we use flash avatars and signatures? there are a lot of perks..probably more than I know about cause I dont run the thing.... |

If we had our Own server we could:
Post things for DL, including music, games, or anything else you think of.
Put up and host your own pictures (music, games, etc) without worrying about logins and such.
Play music in the backround of the board, if wanted.
Host more and larger signatures and avatars.
Host our own games with scoreboards and user interactivity (may be dificult, but it is possable)
Ensure that the imagies do not turn to Red X's
What we could not do:
Use flash avatars and signatures
get rid of the "Wait 30 secs" or "Flood detected" errors
Speed up the DL rate of the images on slow computers (maybe a little, but only fractionally)
Also, I would never demand payment to use this board. So don't worry about thinking you have to pay me or anything. It is and always will be free. Infact, I would never even ASK to get money for using this board. I didn't pay to make this baord, and you shouldn't have to pay to go on it.
And while we're on this topic, I was thinking about makeing a whole 'nother skin for the board. This would be the 'Blue' skin. For those of you who know me in real life, I only wear two real types outfits- Blue on Blue, and Orange on Green. So I was thinking about making a whole 'nother skin, with green backround and hex's and stuff, and orange text.
The way it would work is, there would be a dropdown menu at the top of the page, right under the RotW window. From there, you could choose 'Green' or 'Blue'
It would be a bit of work, but I could do it. Sound like its worth it?

will -- dude -- I'm not saying you have to demand or ask for any money -- if we wanted to give you a freaking dollar a month then we would. I'm sure that EVERYBODY on the board would willingly contribute one dollar to the board after all the joy and fun this board has brought us.
how much do you need per-month to do all that stuff? what are the rates?

^  Ok, Dan, I know what you meant. I was just clearing that up for everyone. And, I would have to check the rates and stuff. I don't feel like doing that now. I've seen them go for $7 to as high as $400+, depending on quality, features, etc. And I am definatly going to start that green/orange project. Soon... maybe tonight. |
