hmm...VCD?...2 eps on a disc? sounds like someone got you the pirated version online somewhere  btw the Eva OVA is twenty-six episodes, I guess you would call it a series but I thought it was an OVA in Japan... and no to girlfriend of steel. never even heard of it, but I'll check it out... |

The series is 26...OVA...well, to me it is a series, not an OVA, but I don't know how they think about it in Japan. I'm pretty sure that's an OVa piece, but I could be very wrong. |

it's really easy to tell if it's pirated with Eva, cause ADV went to a lot of trouble to give it a lot of languages. it should have English, Spanish, French and Japanese audio.
and 26 eps is the standard length for an OVA. there are exceptions, a lot of OVAs are thirteen, and FLCL of course was only six. but a series in Japanese tends to go on and on and on (i.e. Ranma, DBZ) until somebody decides to cancel 'em I guess. almost all the stuff we get here on [as] was an OVA. Witch Hunter Robin, Trigun, you get the picture. although Cowboy Bebop I believe was not.
anyway I'm not really an expert on the subject, but Eva is an OVA, I'm pretty sure.

every good jap anime has 26 episodes.
only eception is fooly cooley cause they got cut short.
just thought I"d point that out.

Well, that would be becuase, in japan, a season of Anime is 13 episodes long... and two seasons is usually enough (any more then that is usually just milking it)
