"Hello, and welcome to the very first broadcast of Channel 59.7 international news! I am you anchor, Agawin Kirat. This studio is located in Ginere, on the southern coast of Aerohann, though members of our team come from all over the world."
"And I am the Co-anchor, Björn Guðmundr, born in Heimdall, Midgard. We will be bringing you news from around the world, broadcast to every major city, and translated or subtitled in every major language."
Agawin: "Our team of reporters consists of over 100 people from around the globe, positioned in every country."
Björn: "To celebrate our maiden broadcast, we will bring to you a sum up of the past events that shaped the world."
Agawin: "Some say it began as a small skirmish between conflicting revolutionaries. Others say it was slowly building up since mankind was civilized. But several small wars eventually gave rise to period of time that we now collectively know as The Great War"
Björn: "In that ensuing chaos, when man had barely invented the gun, old rivals and scheming leaders used the confusion to launch attacks for purly personal reasons. With war breaking out worldwide, there was no longer a need to explain to your people why exactly they were going to war- you only had to tell them who to attack."
Agawin: "Over the following years, many small nations were burned to ashes, or absorbed into others. Some were conquered, others allied to protect themselves, only to be backstabbed later. There was no trust between even brothers."
Björn: "It became an age of strife that lasted for years. From the hundred-plus kingdoms that span across our two great continents, only seven or so remained after the first 70 years of war."
Agawin: "With their positions solidified, the wars became even worse. No-one even remembered what it was they were fighting for, other then survival. There were no alliances at that point."
Björn: "In those long years, man had invented many new ways to kill eachother. Calvary gave rise to tanks, muskets to rifles, and eventually biplanes to bombers."
Agawin: "Wijk conquered their closest neihbor, and the final joined Midgard in their defensive protectorate. There were only five countries left: Lutassat, Danination, Midgard, Wijk, and Aerohann."
Björn: "The fighting lasted fourty more years. When there was almost nothing left, Mankind collectivly relized what they had done."
Agawin: "Choosing Ginere as the place to sign their treaty, what was left of the world at that point signed what was known as the Isolationist Treaties. There would be no contact between any of the nations of any kind, no acts of war or even trade, for twenty years, to allow people time to rebuild everything they had lost."
Björn: "And that day was today, twenty years ago. Today is not only the end of the Isolationist Treaties, but the anniversy of the end of the war."
Agawin: "And now that trade can once again resume, and contact can once again be maintained internationally, we look to the future. Will the past repeat itself? Will the flames of war demand more sacrifices?"
Björn: "Or will Mankind learn from its mistakes, and never commit such meaningless and bloodthirsty acts again?"
Agawin: "We leave this in the hands of our leaders..."
Björn: "Best of wishes for the future, The Channel 59.7 newsteam, signing off."

Hello, and welcome again the the channel 59.7 news. It is 12:47pm on Turn1.85, West Aerohann Time.
Tensions between Wijk and Lutassat Rise Earlier this week the Caliph of Lutassat announced that Wijk was somewhat threatening in their requests for trade deals, claiming that if Lutassat did not agree to the requests, Wijk threatened to destroy civilian targets within Tleak and claim the country as an annexed territory.
Wijk responded to the claims saying they were complete lies. They also said that such lies were, quite obviously, a threat to the security of their nation, and thusly that Lutassat would be dealt with as a potental threat. The 1st citizen also stated he would divert funds from a space program to build up a "Defence against the capitalist Lutassat".
We go now to two of our millitary corespondants, Eric Hiemner of Danination and Agileus Sacretemo of Aerohann. Niether speak with the athourity or backing of their nations' governments- both are civilian analysts.
Eric, What to you make of all this?
Eric:"We can easily expect tensions after such a long idle period. Everyone is eyeing eachother, waiting for the other to make the first move. Its not bad to treat eachother as threats for the moment, becuase quite fankly, everyone is."
Who do you think is telling the truth? Did Wijk make the threats?
Eric:"Probably not-" Agileus: "What? Then you're saying Lutassat fabricated this story? For what purpose?"
Eric:"Er, no, no, that's not what I said. It was probably a... mutual misunderstanding."
Agileus: "I don't think so. Someone is manipulating someone else- and since I really don't see what Lutassat has to gain..."
Eric: "Already you're pointing fingers! Everyone is going to start blaming eachother, and we'll have Great War II on our hands."
Agileus: "And what if it comes to that? Let's say- hypothetically, of course- that the whole thing was a complete misunderstanding. That dosn't make the tensions any less severe, any less real."
Eric: "Well... we'll have to do everything we can to prevent that."
Agileus: "That's not good enough! We know that won't work. You know that won't work. Either nothing is going to happen through their own accord, or something will happen regardless of our attempts otherwise. Its completly up to them and, given their records during the Great War, I'm fairly confident we will see action- in Lutassat. Wijk will be the agressor, just as they always have been."
Eric: "So what then!? Are you saying we just... just... pick sides!?"
Agileus: "... Yes! We cannot allow such aggresive and morally corupt nations such as Wijk to do as they please with the more passive nations. We must be the shield."
Eric: "What you're saying would definatly forge the Second Great War. That's just... insane."
Agileus: "Maybe. Maybe it would. But maybe it would be a deterant. Maybe the sheer threat of so many nations banded together would bring about... a... a... a cold war of sorts. Besides, what would happen if we simply let Wijk come in and take all the Oil?"
Eric: "...Don't make this about Oil."
Agileus: "It quite obviously is already. If Lutassat is involved, it's about Oil. And if Wijk owns the Oil... what do you think they will do with it all? Share it equally? If they would so easilly invade another nation--"
Eric: "They havn't invaded anyone yet! You're basing your argument on possabilities! You're calling for a second Great War! Its none of our business to get involved! This is between-"
-Eh... We're going to have to cut them off there. They've already used up more then their alloted time...
Dannation to Step Up National Security Mesures The CDIA announced to their people shortly after the speach given by the Daninonian Emperor that the CDIA would be imposing new "Citizen Registry" procedures.
"Only moments after the treaties have fallen," stated Thomas Rhinak, director of operations for the CDIA, in his press release earlier today about the propsed National Security Plan, "nations are already bickering over petty subjects and the threat of war has become real. Instead of building a defensive army and adding fuel to the fire, we think it might be better to develope more defensive mesures against possable threat.
"Our new National Security plan hasn't been finalized or implemented yet, but it will focus on protecting the people, which is what the point of all our actions should be. It will call for, among other things, a registry of all Daninonian citizens. This is the core of our plan."
He went on to say that these mesures will be used to track suspected criminals and ensure the safety of their citizens. Using data collected on a national scale will allow them to indentify injured or dead casualties, prevent kidnappings, and track suspected criminals or terrorists. The data to be collected on citizens is still "Under Review" but was to include at least photographic face and profile shots and fingerprints. In addition, every citizen will be assigned a number which can be used as a identification of sorts.
Small protests have arisen, but the public seems to be overally acceptive of the new plan. Antogonists to the plan claim that it will violate their rights of privacy. But the CDIA persists it is strictly a defensive mesure, and that such a system would "Pay for its own flaws in the saftey and wellbeing of our citizens".
Aerohann to Not Mobilize Military? Four nations have begun a mobilization of their armed forces- Wijk has assumed defensive positions in their cities. Midgard and Lutassat are moving their armed forces into defensive positions as well, and Danination seems to be deploying armed forces around their land borders.
No military traffic of any kind was reported in or around Saintside Vista, however. Wijk claimed to be moving "In defence against capitalist Lutassat" in a speech earlier this week, but other official sources would not comment on any other developments.
