Okay, for those of you that choose to do so you can use this thread to pit your arena charecters against each other. As an incentive to battle, I'll offer 2 exp to the winner, and 1 exp to the loser. You and your opponent will have to argue about what type of terrain the fighting will be done in. I'll go ahead and list a few of the options though.
1. Standard arena: A large arena with 10' walls encircling it. The floor is made of dirt. Opponents start at opposite sides, approximately 75 yards apart from each other.
2. Forest battle: A battle in the forest, trees and small brush offer concealement. It also makes it more difficult to hit with ranged weapons (subtract 2 from dex + ranged weapons). However, all manner of magic can be used. Opponents begin approximately 25 yards apart.
3. Icy mountain path: The path is narrow, only wide enough for one man to walk on. It is also slick. . . thus reducing movement rates. If you are hit, and suffer damage, you must make a balance and dexterity check against the number of successes your opponent had, or fall off the path to your doom. Opponents start 35 yards apart.
Examples:
Jed and Fred are fighting, Jed has dexterity of 4 allowing him to all out run at 12 yards per turn, jog at 8 yards, or walk 4 yards. Due to the ice, he will half these numbers.
Jed has Str and Melee total of 8. Fred has Dex and Dodge of 4. Thus, Jed hits Fred. . . 8 - 4 = 4 Fred needs to have a minimum Dex and balance of 4 or he will plummet to his death. . .
4. The beach: Open beach with lit bonfires approximately every 70 feet away from each other. No concealement, and opponents start 100 yards away.
