*********************************************** Chapter 5: The Council *********************************************** [/center] *Tass, Tanyu, Katt, Sho, and Will made their way back to the nearby town, finding a huge celebration ready for their triumphant return. They partied for days, such was the joy of the town for the defeat of the evils of the tower. A dueling ring was set up, and nearly every man of age challenged Tanyu and Sho to a battle at some point, although it was more comical than a true duel because of the vast amounts of beer available at all times during the celebration. Tass conjured hundreds of bright and colorful sprites so the townsfolk could celebrate deep into the night. Will spent much of the time pouring over the new magitechnology books Katt had 'aquired' for him, but he shared in the festivities as well. Katt pawned off much of the lewt she had taken from the tower, keeping only a few usefull trinkets for herself*
Soon, however, it was time to move on, and, after a hearty goodbye from the townsfolk and al the supplies they could use for months, the group set off for the Mage's Council at Tassatul's request. They hadn't seen Master Mage Kaluthin since the beginning of the assualt on the tower, but Tass assured them he was in contact with the old mage, and that their next stop should be Katyr and the Magi Towers*
*We find our heros traveling through a section of wilderness, just a few hours away from the secluded Magi Towers where Tass expected to be tested for his magical prowess*

((nice work Tass!))
My my...that was quite the amusing few days...all those duels...and not a single one worth my time hohoho...I would've much rather take Tanyu or Will on...maybe even the Tass fellow...regardless, my decision to stick with these guys has been most worth it
*Sho had not since left the group after the shut down of the infernal machine from days before. He had never really known allies, and even if they weren't necessarily the closest of friends; he had people to travel with for once. Thus, he attempted some small talk with Tass, whom was closest to him at the time*
Sho: "Tass, pardon me, but seeing as I haven't necessarily been traveling with you and your friends from the start; i'm not entirely sure what's going on. I have a question for you, it's up to you whether you want to answer or not...but what exactly are we doing now? I shall be following regardless...but...it would be nice to know"

((ooc: Ha! I love it! A perfect intro to the next chapter. And I'm guessing since we have so much supplies we kinda have a cart being driven by mules or something right?))
*at the time they left the town, Tanyu was still drunk and partying with other soldiers. They had to pull him away while in the middle of a bar song which distracted him from what was happening. While on the road, Tanyu is sitting on top of the cart full of supplies still with a tall mug of beer is in his hand and is still singing the bar song*
Tanyu: "Oooooooohhhhhhh ayede ayede ayede ayede ayede ayede aye!! We beat up all the mages, and took off with all their loot! We defeated all the goblins and wiped them off our boot! We went off to the tower, to get up in a fight. We easily took the victory, but dragons really bite!"
*And this goes on and on as long as there's beer in his possession.*

((if anything, my guess is that it would be just a little cart pulled by a single mule. not something that we all ride in or anything, like a wagon. just a llittle supply cart))
we may as well write 'please rob me' on the side of that cart, they're always the first thing i go for... hehe. but then again, anyone who tries to rob this motly crew is gonna be in for some feirce reprocussions. we all do make a pretty good team...
*Katts mind wandered a bit as she walked alone near the side of the road. she never really got used to traveling in larger groups. her ears perked a bit, though, when she overheard the conversation Tass and Sho were having. Even though Katt knew where they were headed, she wasnt really all that sure as to why. She began listening for more info.*

((ooc: Thats what I meant anyway. But little cart or big cart, one or two mules, its still a cart and Tanyu is on top of it. but remember, he said months worth of supplies and I said only Tanyu is on top of it. So nyah, I'm justified))

*Tass looked over at Sho and smiled*
"Certainly Sho! Although, you don't know much more than I do at the moment. My master, Kaluth, kept me pretty much in the dark, but I have been picking up hints as to what he has in store for me. We're heading for the Magi Towers in Kroy, where the most powerful magic users congregate to teach others to harness their power. For what I've gathered, it also contains a testing area to see when apprentices are ready to become full fledged magi, but I don't have any idea what these tests consist of. I do know however" *Tass guestured at his grey robes "that when I get to be a 'full mage,' I get a differnt color than this apprentice's grey. I think it depends upon your type of magic, but I dunno for sure."

Sho: "I see...I have no doubt that you're seemingly increased abilities should get you through whatever trials await. I came across small tidbits of information on this in my time at the monastery I hail from, it reminds me of the trials which turn you from a trainee to a full fledged monk...trials which I never truly passed...and why i'm still draped in red. Now as for destination...that...I have no clue as to what awaits, haven't traveled this far just yet...Thanks for answering my friend, highly appreciated."
*Sho then turns to Katt for a quick moment*
Sho: "And you...hahaha, I didn't even detect your presence until just a moment ago...i'm slipping- Anyway, it'd be easier if you just jumped into conversation...i'm not exactly too good at this hahahaha"
So...the Magi Towers of Kroy...this sounds interesting...however...I hope I encounter better enemies than those I came across earlier

*Tanyu has fallen asleep. His now empty beer mug carelessly slips out of his hand and shatters on the dirt path. The sound of bar songs have stopped and have been replaced with the sound of loud snoring*Tanyu: "zzzZZZ...zzzZZZ...zzzZZZ"

"eh, i dont have all that much to say myself. I dont really mind where im headed, considering i have no where else to be. im kind of just taking this whole journey as it comes. although, this whole magi business is pretty interesting. we dont have anything even remotely like this in the west..."
((just let us know when were ready for the next leg of the journey, tass. you can chop off our idle banter whenever. unless, of course, theres more info to divulge ;D))

((Yeah, that's a good point, whenever you wanna get this rollin' feel free to cut the chatter))
Sho: "in that case, that makes two of us, and up til' now I had completely neglected you were from the west...very, very few westerners were ever seen within the forests and hills of Land's End. Must be quite the place, that land on the other end of the sea, i'd love to see what kind of warriors reside there..."
That may very well be something i'll look into in the future...a trip to the west...should be interesting. but for the time being, this group seems to invite plenty a chance for combat

Fargo stumbled on a tree root that protruded from the ground.
He could hear the calls of his pursuers behind him, closing in, and scrambled up from the ground. The only escape seemed to be south, where he could see sunlight through the trees.
A clearing...
He ran as hard as he could, having already run almost two miles, and stumbled into the clearing dizzily. His breathing was ragged, and he stood leaning with his hand on a large maple for support.
Then he heard voices, and began his escapade again, ignoring the pain in his side. Almost as soon as he swept out of the clearing, he ran headlong into a cart trundling through the woods on a path perpendicular to his own, and was thrown over it by his momentum, seeing, as he flew threw the air, a man lying in the cart asleep and with an empty bottle in his hand. The cart stopped.
From his side of the cart, working hard to avoid breathing loudly, he heard one of the men chasing him approach.
"Hey! You folks seen a man come running through here, green shirt, bag over 'is shoulder?" asked the man.
There was a long pause, during which Fargo became very nervous and slipped his sabre out just in case. Finally:
"No, sir. No one," said one of the people standing next to him.
"Blast, he's misled us!" The man cursed. "Turn back, turn back!" he yelled to his companions, and the sound of their footfalls on the dry leaves receded into the distance.
Fargo stood and looked around.
"Err... Thanks."

quick rewind<<
*After Sho attempted some conversation, there was a bit of silence which was only broken by occasional snoring from Tanyu...this wasn't something Sho wasn't already used to after traveling for so long by himself. He took the moment to absorb the sounds of the trail...until he felt the presence of unfamiliar bodies. At this very moment Sho notices a being emerge from the forestry...and also notes said being's accidental flight that was followed by a hollow sounding landing. Not far, a group of men emerged...appearing rather angry*
weell...that was amusing...I wonder
Man: "Hey! You folks seen a man come running through here, green shirt, bag over 'is shoulder?"
oooh...NOW I get it...that's pretty funny
*Sho then decides to try his luck at altering his voice to sound convincing*
Sho: "No, sir. No one"
damn...that sounded like I was talking to some kind of king...crap...they can't possibly buy that
"Blast, he's misled us!" The man cursed. "Turn back, turn back!" he yelled to his companions, and the sound of their footfalls on the dry leaves receded into the distance.
...I did NOT see that coming...hahahahaha
stranger: "err...Thanks" end rewind>>
Sho: "HAHAHAHA, that was almost tooo easy, whooo...I can't believe they bought that! hehehahahah- ahem -...soooo...you all right?"
((I know, I can't talk for other members, but I needed to for that particular scene to work- sorry))

"Better question:," mused Fargo, "Is your cart alright? And how are you this lovely afternoon?"
He looked around, wincing from the pain in his shoulder from the landing.
