The Island Wars (idea)

I have an idea for an RP called the Island Wars

The story line is that when scientist today said earth had no land above the ocean and that the world was nothing but ocean...thier were 4 Huge islands(continents basically) above the ocean that floated high in the air. 3 of these islands were occupied by humans and the fourth is uninhabited by humans because of creature said to live their. the three human populated islands are currently at war.

the first island Called Morex is a land that focuses more on technology than magic or brute strength. their very skilled with long ranged weapons and have many fantasy like tanks and transport ships to get their Gunners in strategic positions. their weakness is that if they are to get into close combat they will fail. horribly.

The second island is call Angette. This island focuses more on the magic capabilities than brute strenght and technology. their magic is strong and can prove very difficult for any form of attack to penetrate. the weakness is that their are few in comparison to the other islands.

the third island is called Uildwa. the land focuses more on speed and striking hard than making fights go on for a long time. they have an adapt ability for movie quickly on their skimmer like wooden vehicles and strike hard with punishing attacks. they out number the other 2 islands put together. they have the best Navy also out of the 3 islands. Their flying ships...our numerous and powerful.
biggest weaknes...if stuck in a stale mate they almost definitely lose.

the 4th island is called Moringal. Creatures are said to roam this land that are not of this earth. (pretty much any fantasy creature you can think of thats not completely human can be found here. including half human like creatures) these creatures are usually left alone but will at time appear out of no where and fight for reasons of their own.

Pretty much Uildwa and angette team up to fight Morex because of their power.

please tell me what you think! i want to get another RP started so i can actually start in one that isn't already a good amount done.

Are we (the players) just citizens of one country or the other, or are we politically relevant, or maybe soldiers? Or do you plan to make a post and let things unfold however they like from there?

The most important question is: 'What do the characters do?'

Are they pulling the strings, fighting the battles, being ordinary, kicking ass, fighting each other...?

Well i was thinking that...We split the whole story into 5 parts. the first 4 parts we will all be for one of the islands...like the first part say we start with Morex...we find out what type of government and political stuff they have and get indpth into that culture...and we'll play as hero's for that island and we'll do a serious mission for that island then end it. then we'll start the next island. we will spend a lot of time just getting the whole idea for the islands type of lifestylee down and our own characters down. Each time we start new heros and start all over again.

Finnaly the 5th and final chapter will be the shortest...we will all pick are fav char that we made for the 4 islands and have a climatic battle between all of us. we all be on Air ships and do battle in air. no god modding in that if you are being out done then accept defeat. we will be leading full invasion forces...and the the person or person...whos island wins in will eventually win the entire war... and i miaght after that have us play 100 years in the futer as a band a rebals together but thats if this works out.

Do you think the establishment of governments and getting characters planned and designed and such should be done in this thread? I can't see us having much of a game without getting the foundation built first.

we could do that here...we'll choose are characters for Morex and then i'll give a quick starting plot to get the story a good base

Well, I would play, but my forum roleplaying is more suited to World RPG and such. Put me in a position of one character and I WILL powerplay. I cant help it.

It's a really nice idea in theory, though I have some serious doubts about it working.

... But what the hell, it sounds like a nice build-a-culture kind of game. My advice: just give a very basic sketch of the cultures and let actual play fill out the rest.

Please put your character name here along with his description. This is for the island of Morex. give the once special atribuit to go along with how the island works.

Once i belive all people who wish to participate have given thier characters then i will post the main thread. Also i will have it so that way we all meet up as in millitary meeting. and then we'll be set off on one uber mission.
