Nenet tried to get herself accustomed to the vehicle.
"The Devil may only be a name," she noted, having never seen a hell-on-earth in her travels.

"Guys...Guys..." Avroz slammed the roof of the machine as he pleaded like a child. "It's scary up here...Guys? Hmm..." After that, no voice was heard, instead was the scraping of his amputation blade against the roof, accompanied only by sighs and finally a clanking as he gave up. "Are we there-we-we there yet? The birds are looking at me- like they're planning something!" He went berserk, beating on the steel contraption and frantically pointing at a flock of small black birds overhead. Finally, he put his blade back in his robe and put an open tome over his head to hide himself from these "predators". "I see you...Go away please... Go away please... Guys!?!"

Fargo smiled at the commotion, walked to the ladder, climbed up and opened the hatch.
"Bird problems?" he asked, looking at Avroz.

Egakino grabs Avroz by the shoulders and then slaps him, "Get yourself together man!!! This is the real world!! Not a bed time story! AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!"

"That's the problem! This is all too real for me!" He swung his arm at Egakino as he was slapped, and sank into the spot where he sat. "Just too real, Egakino. I miss my alley already! And who knows what Fangs has gotten itsself into in my absence." He made a deep sigh, emptying so much air he shrank considerably. "But that's behind us, I guess." He took out two small, square, glass containers of a thick black syrup. He opened a bottle and the stench rose in clouds. He took a sip and lifted the other container to Egakino. "Not beer, much worse. Faster buzz. Took too much on accident a few days ago and realised it calms me down a little bit. Care for a bit? It'll also fix colds, sinuses, allergies, nosebleeds, cramps, runny nose..." He belted out a long list of ailments and illnesses, and added, quietly, "...Or at least make you forget you had them. Nasty side effects, though. Tends to make people violent." He trembled a little and tried to steady a quivering arm. "Well, I only got to test it on the Cardinals put in my care, and they start out violent. But nevermind with that."

"Um.. err.. thanks, but no...." Egakino begins to walk back slowly. He's seen weird people before, but this crazy mage seems to take the cake. And that's saying something.

Adam eyed the glass containers Avroz held. Something inward felt odd about them, and he decided that he wanted to know what the syrup consisted of. Reaching for bottle Avroz had extended out to Egakino, Adam spoke: "I"ll give it a try."
Before Avroz could speak, Adam grabbed the bottle and gulped a mouthful. This was his most efficient way of determining the chemical makeup of something. . . he put it in his mouth. It almost looked as if he was chewing the syrup, so concentrated on absorbing the liquid Adam was. He closed his eyes, revealing red tattoos even on the lids, and focused inward on breaking down the substance. His inner being picked out enzyme linkages, the subtle interconnections of atoms and electrons, breaking and rearranging the chains of molecules that determined everything from the color of the liquid to the properties it induced in others. Adam sat silently for almost ten seconds, not worried about the stares he was quite probably recieving. Right now, he was adding to his wealth of knowledge, honing his life's work as an alchemist.
He opened his eyes, then: "Interesting choice of beverage, Avroz. I would advise caution," he said with a grin.

"Nothing that bad, really." He said as he sloshed the liquid in the jar. "Vampire extracts, powdered ladybug wingcases, crushed grapes, essence of cocoa plant, a few other things, all chilled and thawed. The only tricky part is crushing leather until it drips into the bottle. Then again, the vampire extracts aren't easy to come by if you're not sneaky." He threw an empty bottle over the side and watched it bounce and roll off, dissappearing over a grand horizon, then pulled a glass tube-like object from his pocket, biting his tongue as he appeared to aim a dart. "Sometimes I just have to throw one of these at it and take off, then when it checks the area to see what caused the pricking feeling I sneak over and pick this thing up. I call it a SYphoning-Remedy-Ingredient-GEar, or syringe. Doesn't do anything but take extracts, and I have only one left." He smirked as he gently tucked it away, and looked at a small incision it put in his arm. "Oh illest of fortunes, this doesn't look infected, does it? Ow, ow, hurts, hurts, hurts, now I'm gonna get sick! I could die out here! Ah!" He quickly took a foot of bandage to wrap the centimetre-long cut, and poured the thick black syrup until it soaked to the wound.

Nenet leaned back and pulled her hood as far over her face as she could in an attempt to mask her uneasiness on the vehicle. She didn't like the clouds of dust it kicked up or the sound it made, though she could still hear all the commotion on the roof over the machine.
"...this doesn't look infected, does it? Ow, ow, hurts, hurts, hurts, now I'm gonna get sick! I could die out here!" the black-robed one egan shouting. She grimaced for a moment then turned to look up at the roof.
"None die out here," she said to him, and also to the rest. She paused for a moment and said," Unless I let it happen."
She sat back down and folder her arms across her chest. To any who had been listening, her tone of voice would have made them laugh nervously in hope that she was joking, but not knowing if she actually was.

Safra sat up in the bed suddenly. She shot a glance over her shoulder, towards the back of the vehicle, then ran to the front. "Can this thing go any faster?" she asked Will hurriedly.

Will was confused. He quickly checked a mirror that was mounted on the side of the vehicle, but it was misaligned and he was able only to see the vehicles own side.
"I... I can... yes, it can go faster, little one. But do not expect me to keep up the pace for long."
Sensing the sudden urgency of the situation, Will punches the vehicle forward without further explanation. Sorry to anyone on the roof...

Avroz flew backwards and tumbled off of the vehicle. "Aw, son of a-" He tore open his robe and held the corners as he spoke, "Oh Gods of the Crux, let this work!Verrange depayse umoor- More than it appears." The robe expanded and caught wind behind him, and as he lifted he marveled at the scenery from his position, blocking out the sun behind him an covering a spot below him in shade. As he pulled the corners back, he darted forward, towards the vehicle's roof. "Oh great Sentret empower me!" he prayed quietly as he swooped in closer, barely avoiding hard impact with the machine. He released his robe as it shrank and slid and tumbled over the roof. "Can someone tell me what is going on? The birds? Are they-the- coming back? Let's get out of here! Is that it!?! What is the problem!?"

Egakino, although a master of balance, was caught by the unsuspected jerk and stumbled and fell off of the vehicle as well, and landed on his face. "OOOPHH!! Well that was rude..." He said as he picked his head off from the dirt. He picked the rest of himself up and then pulled out his rolling ball and went to catch up with the front of the machine, which wasn't hard considering the ball could easily go faster. "Was there a point to that?"

Nenet's hand grasped for something solid and sturdy to hold on to. She could sense that she was shivering from the rush of adrenaline, but her robes hid it well from anyone who looked at her. Her sudden rush of fear had overwhelmed her, and she had so many thoughts and emotions spinning in her mind. She felt fear, anger, and just a little bit violent. If there was no justified reason for them to speed up, she would certainly have ample opportunity to work out those emotions later on when the Kruzer was stopped and people were within reach.
She shot a look of unbridled anger at the engineer, not bothering to hide it. If the machine should happen to kill her, she was taking him along as well.

Avroz, a panting, sweating trainwreck, shot down the roof's latch like lightening and stumbled to Will and Nenet. "What is happening here! I don't see any birds up there! What is the rush with you guys!?" He cried as he tried awkwardly to put away the cage, when a finger slid over the tin fastener. A calmness swept him all at once, and he bowed his head as the lighting seemed to darken his hair, and he must have slouched to explain the change in height. His bangs fell over his face so only a frightening smile showed and he pulled the handle of his amputation blade from his coat. "We're not running from birds," He spoke in a slightly happy tone as he strode to the back of the kukuruznik, "Are we? Something bigger? A raging temptest? No, not dangerous enough, or is it? Bandits? Oh, I do love a bandit fight. Perhaps a great wave of undead. No, no, they move too slowly for a change of speed. Or do they? Well, regardless," He took the bandage around his arm and wrapped it around his forhead, tieing it quickly in the back, "We must flee or fight. Should we flee, we may live into the morrow. Should we choose to do battle, the Cruxian gods will welcome us if and when that morrow never comes. I can say that in confidence." He took one more swig from the container in his hand and put a syringe into it, filling it and hiding it behind the bandages on the back of his head.
