A group of men walk into the town, all of them armed. They stand tall, like they own the place. They wear long coats and pendants emblazoned with a cross-in-circle symbol. The townspeople have never seen them, but they've seen too many like them. They quickly move out of the streets into whatever buildings they can find. The men smirk cruelly at this, but continue moving along the town's central street, towards the local pub.
They stop a few yards from the entrance. In the middle of the now-empty street stands a small girl, maybe 6 years old, looking the other way, completely oblivious to the men. She's obviously not a local, but seems to be alone. The men look at each other, then one steps forward and speaks. "Hey, little girl!" She turns around, and looks at them oddly. "Do you know who we are?"
"No... should I?" she asks.
"We're the Cardinals, little lady, and you should give us some respect!"
"Hmm... you smell like beer. If you're trying to get to the bar, it's right there. I won't stop you."
"What!? You've gone too far, little girl! Now I'm gonna have to punish you!" All of the men draw various types of weapons from their coats and surround the little girl. The locals cower in their houses, too scared to help. And the few foreigners passing through see the events and make their decisions.
((Psst! The foreigners are you guys! Post now!))

"You guys must be real tough."
Adam leans nonchalantly up against a nearby building, flipping what appeared to be a metal coin. His red cloak flutters a bit from a passing gust of wind, but otherwise his entire body is still, save for the flipping and catching of his coin. He stares down the men and their guns with his gray eyes.
"And I suppose you're tougher than we are? Gonna be the big man and save this little girl? Maybe even teach us a little lesson?"
The Cardinals laugh together at the tall man. It dies out a little when Adam grins too. This wasn't how things work. People were supposed to fear them. Who did this guy think he was?
Their leader speaks up, shrugging off Adam's looks. "Heh, he's all talk. Waste 'em both!" He raises his handgun to the side and aims for the little girl. Explosively, the ground shot up and formed a shell around the girl, in addition to knocking back some of the Cardinals. The boss looks back to Adam, who is no longer leaning so casually against the wall. The coin he was flipping lands in his open palm, then rapidly shifts into a long thin rod, just about the right size for swinging.
"Onlookers: give something now, in order to receive later! Start your exchange!"

Gustav Hindemith sat peacefully on a street corner, against a building, thinking. The world had been an interesting place recently, and he had plenty to ponder. Just as he was considering how much better off the world would be without organized crime and bullies, he noticed a commotion in the main road of town.
'Now I've gone and done it again....' He stepped out from the shadow of an awning near the red-cloaked man, walking near enough to exchange words.
"She's not going to suffocate in there, is she?" He was pretty sure he knew the answer, though.
He looked over at the Cardinals. One of them tried to say something, but happened to lose his balance and fall into another, who also had his mouth open, ready for a snide comment.
Gustav smiled.

"There is nothing here..." Will thought to himself. Trying to pedal goods in a place with no money was something Will found himself doing more and more often. He looked to his most recent tag-along, sitting beside him on the roof of the carriage. "Isn't that right, comrade?" "Sure, pal" He answered, with a tired sigh. "I can't even swindle anything out of them." Will scoffed quietly, remembering his companion's poor habits. The two of them were on their way back to Will's traveling machine, to move along towards the next town. Suddenly, his friend jumped off the carriage, within walking distance of their destination. "Sorry, this is where I get off!" He continued on foot. Will was confused by his behavior, but felt no sadness in losing another partner. He would just find another, like he always has. . . . "I have to pay for him too!?" Will exclaimed. "But, that.... its not fair! He did not... even..." Frustrated, he began to curse in another language. Reluctantly, he paid the woman double and, muttering, began on his way into the dusty town. He had left the Kukuruznik just on the other end of town, so that he may go on foot to try and sell some of his wares to the locals. Just as Will began to think he needed something to lift his spirits, he heard a quick muffled scream, the slamming of doors, and noticed all at once the streets had gotten quiet. Looking up, he saw a spectacle begin to unfold, and though he was unarmed, he began to run towards it, Excitement slowly building... even if it was some drunken brawl, at least it would give him something to watch! ((I think I am going to have my character only watch, then do the whole, "Wow! You guys were awesome!" deal. Everyone else seems to have the situation very much under control ))

The Cardinals fell back a few steps, unused to meeting any reistance. Then, the one who seems to be the leader yells, "We can take 'em! There's only two of them, and eight of us!" This seemed to rally most of them, but the two who had accidentally kissed remained on the ground, spitting and yelling at each other. Two men with swords, one with a gun, and one with a spear rush Adam, while the two heading for Gustav have a pair of knives and a gun.

((wooh, there is 8? Maybe I will join in after all.))
Will sees the large group of men rush towards only two. Although he's not sure of what exactly is going on, he sees this is hardly a fair fight, and quickly takes up position between the two strangers, just as the enemies begin to charge.
"I am not sure who you are, or what is going on..." He nervously looks back and forth, reconsidering the odds, "Or how exactly I am going to help... but I am with you comrades!" He draws a large wrench from his belt, and braces for impact!

Egakino, the Jester, was on vacation from the travelling circus and decided to mosey about in the nearest town. It seemed like a quiet, peaceful little town and therefore quite the opposite of the face paced, chaotic circus, so it was exactly what the doctor ordered.
After spending the early morning just strolling and taking in the peaceful, organic sights and smells in the grassy fields outside, he lays himself up on top of a building's rooftop to rest as the sun's warm rays land upon him.
"Oh, what a beautiful day it has been..." he says to himself while yawning and stretching and smelling a daisy he picked up on the way. "If only every day could be like this..." He then goes on to start naming what the clouds look like.
Just then a commotion could be heard down below at the town's square. A group of bullies, the Cardinals, start threatening a little girl and then other strangers appear to defend her. The loud sounds grab the Jester's attention. Egakino looks down from the roof to investigate.
"What's this? A fight? On such a lovely day as this? How regrettable..."
After a scuffle, the two sides seem to regroup back together. 3 strangers vs 8 bullies and an anonymous girl who is in a barrier. The 8 seem to make a mad rush towards the outnumbered 3.
"Well, now thats not nice. Can't have that now can we?"
He pulls out a number of juggling balls (aka. a bunch of flash and smoke grenades). And from his perch, he tosses the lot down just as the two sides were about to collide. "Bombs away!"
((dont know if it'll help you guys or not, but u're all about to be enveloped in a good amount of smoke and your hearing might get shot for a sec. So for a few seconds sight and hearing will be impaired for a bit.))

Cirrus had only recently arrived into this little town but a few days ago, following word from other Guildsmen that this was quite a place to strike up some quality landscape art.
Thankfully, the rumors were not just that- he had ample inspiration to work off of; not to mention, there were plenty of pretty people to draw too...i.e.: ladies. Unfortunately, his rather menial budget only allows the wandering artist a minimum of 4 days stay at any particular place is he is.
This just happens to be that fourth day...
As such, he was drawing at the local town square on a bench directly across from the bar, where it seemed that a fight was breaking out.
"Now that's not too good..."
The young artist then broke out his pencil, scribbled a pair of binoculars to get a closer look...finding the outnumbered three and the girl as well as the group that announced themselves as the Cardinals.
"Aww dammit...cursed desire to help"
Just then, he heard a voice from above yell "Bombs Away."
"Perfect! cover!"
At that, Cirrus took out one of his sketchbooks, tore out a page containing a drawing of a group of four implike beings. He took his left palm and slammed it on the page, it was followed by a small explosion. From within the smoke, arose four imps that appear to be made of the cobbled stones that cover the streets.
"Two of you give the guy in the red cape, the guy with a wrench, and that other fellow a hand- the other two...try to get the girl out of there...I couldn't see what happened to her."
With that, under the cover of the mysterious smoke from above, Cirrus's four cobblestone imps charge to help.

Gustav was slightly worried when two men rushed him, one of whom had a gun. But then again, he knew how to read.
The gun-weilding man found himself with no trigger finger, just as he was about to fire, and dropped the gun in disgust. The other man Gustav quickly disarmed, sliding the knife along the ground to his wrench-bearing ally.
He then dispatched the man standing confused in front of him with a quick kick to the head, and focused again on the gun man, who had now picked up the weapon with his other hand.
"If you pass me the gun, I'll give your finger back and let you live."
The man hesitated.

The fight had erupted! Just as the first man had come within Will's range, he saw a knife slide across the ground in front of him. It had come from the direction of another of his allies, though how it came to be sliding across the ground, he wasn't sure.
Quickly he ducked to pick it up, though as he tried, there was a loud bang, and a flash. This cause him to immediately lose his balance.
"What was that!?" He yelled out loud, grasped for his eyes, and slipped forward. He felt someone step on his shoulder, then heard a "Wooh!" And another thump as someone hit the ground. It seems he had inadvertently tripped someone...
Will, still on the ground, reached out for the knife again, when someone he heard "I can't see a damn thing!!" and another person stepped on his arm. A small pile of people was beginning to form... apparently he wasn't the only one disoriented by the flashes and smoke.
All three of them in the dogpile began to fight and wrestle. It was even further complicated by the fact he was mostly blinded yet and the smoke was thick. Sombody kicked him and he was tossed from the scuffle, as the two cardinals continued to wrestle with eachother, unaware of the situation.
((So Fargo has occupied two enemies, two have just tripped on me and are fighting eachother, meaning there are four still standing.))

"Hmm...this is proving to be a little more challenging than I had thought...I'm not entirely sure if my little imp army can tell who's what"
With that said, as Cirrus stayed in the back trying to figure out another way to assist, his stone imps were diving headfirst into the action as per their orders.
The first two, who were assigned to help out the fighting, came across Will. They prepared to attack but once they had enough vision to make out who the person in front of them was, they stopped. One of them gave him a "let me help you up gesture" by putting out his hands.
The second one ran ahead and managed to come across a lone Cardinal who was somewhat confused. Being too short to meet his line of sight, the imp very quickly ran to his blindside and kicked the back of his knee, which promptly brought him down enough where the creature could deliver a downward hammerblow straight to the back of his head rendering him unconscious.
The two who were assigned to find the girl on the other hand were dispatched very quickly by the Cardinal with a gun...despite being made of stone, Cirrus had yet to perfect his forms...as such, the two imps exploded a cloud thick black charcoal...which didn't help the situation. Cirrus managed to feel them give way and began thinking harder...
"Crap...a fan?...no...the Bomb! nonono...too risky...aw the hell with it!"
He then took out his book once more, drew a long warhammer, brought it to life and ran into the mayhem.
"Here I go!"
((for number's sake...that's one more down...3 to go))

Nenet wandered into the small town in search of possible jobs. She began to wonder if she had made a wrong decision in searching this town as it seemed too small to attract adventurous people. She was not hurting for money yet, but she would run low soon enough. Luckily she didn't need to waste any money at an overpriced inn. She felt more comfortable sleeping under the stars.
As she turned to check another street, she noticed a small commotion between two groups of people and a whole lot of smoke. Not knowing what it was about, and not willing to ruin her chances of finding customers, she slipped over to a nearby building and watched from a short distance.

The two Cardinals on the ground had finally stopped yelling at each other, and were now up and fighting. Both with swords, they got up and joined the leader, the one with the gun who'd shot down the imps. They ran into the two Cardinals fighting on the ground just as one finished off the other. "What the hell are you doing?!" yelled the leader. "If I didn't need your help, I'd kill you here and now!"
"S... sorry boss. I thought he was the enemy..."
"It doesn't matter now. Those two fools brought friends. We're out numbered, we've gotta get out of here."
The Cardinals moved through the smoke, trying to find their way out.
((That's four men up. Remember, just because they know they're trying to leave doesn't mean you do.))

Will was somewhat dazed, when out of the smoke appeared a small stone creature. He tried to quickly scramble away from it, but he noticed it offered him a helping hand to get up.
"Um... thank you, comrade?" He said slowly, confused. He was going to meet more interesting companions this day then he had originally thought.
