"Cheers!" Avroz shouted as he fumbled drunkenly with the cork on a glass of wine at the back of the bar."It won't open." He said, sounding as if he was on th brink of tears. "Oh, right!" He smiled as he broke yet another bottle, this time intentionally, drinking what stayed in the half he held. "That's much better. Much be-buh-buh-buh..." He said as he drank wine, too messed up to stop talking first. "What brings everyone to this terrible town? A death wish?" He giggled and slipped on the spilled liquids.

Now that everyone was well into the mood of singing, he jumped down from the table to answer the drunken mage, "Well my friend! I'm here inside this humble town because this here is my vacation time. I was supposed to get my fill of peace and quiet, but it turns out i rather like the loud and rowdy crowd. Right fellas!!" He raises his glass to the other drunk gentlemen at the other tables who raise their glasses as well as yelling out in agreement "YEAH! HERE HERE!!"
"These guys are great! And I was worried this town was filled with quiet folk" He jumps back onto the table and continues the music and jig.

"This town? Quiet? Not from what I've seen! It's all gangs, guns, gloom and doom." Avoz smiled merrily and jumped on a stool. "Oh curses! I'm taller! What's happening to me!"

Nenet stood, pulled Avroz off of the stool and took the broken half of bottle from his hand. She held him steady with a hand on his shoulder.
"You should not drink more." she said with a voice that made it sound like a command despite the fact it was advice. "Drink water."
She pulled a smaller waterskin from her robe than the one she had asked the barkeep to fill and handed it to him.
"Trouble can come from being so drunk." she added as she recalled his skittish behavior around the group and the incapacitated gang members and figured that any trouble he got into while he was so inebriated would be more difficult than if he knew what was going on.

Avroz slowly reached for the bottle, not grabbing it, just following it with his hand as it was taken, muttering goodbye under his breath and waving. "True, true. Exca-except" Avroz said, feeling alot less afraid and much more ignorant, **"If I get drunk, and Imma- and I'm not," he stammered, "I'll just open this little trinket." The cage, warm from his hand, gave off a faint heat, like a fireplace on a bitterly cold day. "One of it's manie, mennay, many uses." He swung it and released, and as it revolved around him on his belt it bashed in on his stomache, forcing him to kneel and emitting some sound he was sure he'd never heard before. "Point taken, no more drinking." He said between giggles as he fell to the floor in poorly-masked agony.

((My intent was to wait for a story event, but, I guess I'll join in now. my miss all of the character development, after all... that's my favorite part! Its too bad I got caught behind. PS, "Chuvak" is like "Comrade", but for someone much younger then you. Like saying "Kiddo".))
Another man walks into the bar. It is the engineer from before. "I am sorry, comrades! I was delayed by the-" As he scans the crowd for his new friends, he sees that at least one person was having a little drink. His expression suddenly shifts, to a sort of aggressive anticipation.
He laughs hardily. "Oh, ho ho... yes! This, this is more like it. Comrade bartender, please, tell me you have something strong! I will show my little chuvak here how we drink in my home country!" He walks to the bar, taking off his gloves and goggles. "I can teach perhaps a song as well!"

"So where were you all headed?" Safra asked, sliding into a chair where more people could hear. "Are you traveling anywhere in particular?"

"In fact, my little friend, I was to gather the nerve and ask the same of you all. I find myself lacking in companionship... indeed, hard times have fallen onto me... and so I offer my services to you all, such as they may be of course."
He sat back in his chair, an empty mug in front of him. "Despite what you may have seen earlier, against this... 'Cardinal', I can certainly handle myself in battle, but only when prepared, you see... I can use my machines to aid me, and I am in fact, a battle suit pilot of no small skill."
"And in addition to aid I can offer in whatever battles we may face, I can offer transportation across any lands. My 'wagon', as it were, has room for many, their goods as well, and can cross all lands... within reason of course."
"So, if a fellowship leaves this tavern tonight, comrades, count me in! I have no prior engagements or goals, only to see sights, meet people, and take opportunities that come my way."

Gustav had seen a lot of things that day. Before then, he'd thought that people followed certain patterns, knew they did. He could always see the patterns in behavior, in the glances people threw at other people, in their tone of voice. He never understood what made people act the way they did, but he knew how they acted.
Of course, he was different. He rarely saw reason to react to most things. They simply didn't concern him. The past, simple insults, people so ignorant and curious that they waited expectantly for someone to explain what was happening; he was conciously oblivious. And until today, he'd been the only person he'd ever seen stick out.
But today, a group of people had stepped forth against a feared group to the aid of a small child, something most would never consider. They'd done tremendous things, surprising and thought provoking things. He was interested in these people, because they were like him in that they were different. He needed to study these people, to learn their patterns; to understand them, and in turn, perhaps, what bound ordinary people to their mundane nature.
All of this he thought to himself. Aloud, he said only:
"I'm in."

Nenet watched the engineer out of the corner of her eye as he talked for what seemed like a millenium to her. She adjusted the straps on the large, wrapped bundle on her back so they wouldn't dig into her shoulders so much and pulled back her hood.
"I come looking for business." she said to no one in particular, though she was more or less certain that the engineer would not be looking to hire her since he did not seem to have a destination in mind.
She turned to face the group, hoping that at least one or more of them would find need of her.
"I guide travelers. I know the land well." Her choice of words made it unclear whether she knew this area only or further territories as well. "They seek monsters, treasures. I lead them there."

Avroz's gaze almost burned into Nenet as he heard those words. His drunken smile was quickly replaced with a stern intense expression. "Treasures?" The crazed mage stood swiftly. "You mean, if someone is in search of a relic, you may know where it is?" His tone was quizzical and doubtful, and as he waited for the answer his heartbeat was making his entire body pulse.

Egakino jumps onto the table that the others are talking at. He has two marionettes at his feet hanging down from strings. One is a horse, the other is a shining knight. A paper, pop-up castle scene appears on the table. The light of the room appears to shift so that all focus is towards the stage of the table. its all dramatic like. He narrates, "Those who seek treasures and glory should strengthen their hearts and be brave of spirit!" A sound of a trumpet is heard. The knight raises his sword and then jumps onto the horse. Egakino makes it gallop away from the castle "Would be heroes should take care and keep their wits about them for who knows what lies before them as they chase their dreams and their goals." He combines the knight and horse strings to one hand and then with the vacant one pulls out a marionette of a hideous monster that roars loudly into the air and then blows out fire. A pop-up of a pile of gold and treasure appears behind it. The knight hesitates, "Tests from fate, trials, and tribulation can all be waiting to face them. The question is, will those heroes be ready when it comes? It may not be in the form of a monster, and the glory they seek may not be made of gold, but these things will be true and thus will weigh heavy upon their minds. So then the mind must be cleared and focused! They will have to ask themselves if this is truely what they want and if the risks will be worth it! Then, when the opportunity is right, they must strike and take hold of what it is that they want!!" The knight regathers his courage and charges head on towards the monster. Just as the two collide, a blinding flash of light envelopes the scene. When the viewers regain their sight, they find that the monster has been defeated and the knight standing triumphantly on top of it. "So you see, with courage, bravery, and quick wits any obstacle can be overcome" Tiny fireworks go off behind the knight. Victory has been achieved. The house lights return to normal and the sound of applause and cheers can be heard from the tavern-goers. "Thank you, thank you, you're too kind!" Egakino says as he bows and bathes in his self gratification. He has the knight doing the same. "I'm here till Thursday, try the veil!" ((hehe, made a doodle of the puppets))

Nenet was about to answer Avroz's question when the jester began his impromptu skit. As the skit ended and the lighting became normal again, she turned to face him while speaking loud enough to let everyone know that she was talking to them as well.
"I know of many items." she said simply. "But if I do not know an item, I easily learn information of the whereabouts from those who do know."
She turned her head to the engineer.
"I know many towns and what they sell," she told him. "I have found technical pieces not sold in cities. All of great value."
((I'm thinking she doesn't always know the right term for any given thing, so I'm going to make up my own names to call them at times. Technical pieces= mechanical things, technology, anything metal that isn't made by an armor or weaponsmith))

After see the puppet show, Will seems to become even more interested at the prospect of adventuring together.
"Ah... a good challenge to stir the blood... I would love that much more then selling everything I could make, and becoming rich..."
