Katt: its been a while since we fought any badies. there alot less monsters and evil things over here. im actully kinda glad though, fighting gets kinda tedious after a while... unless the enemies have something neat to steal. like this... *Katt pulls out a small dagger from her bracer/dagger sheath on her left forearm and wipes it in the grass and makes it real shiny* isnt it great? stole it off of a mean old traveler who started with us once ;D served him right...

(ooc- ok...moving on...I wont be able to post as often either...but when I do It will probably be in this thread ok? I have tons of stuff to do and summer job is approaching really fast...not to mention that course I'm taking at Rariton Valley College....here we go then, a little action maybe?)
The sound the the wind echoing though the valley below is very peaceful, but also distracting. The travelers fail to realise what approaches. Kaluth's warding spells that he has casted over the past few days have kept the minor monsters at bay, only to make for a faster journey, but this one would not be detered by his magic....
Kaluth sits under a tree. He notices nothing out of the ordinary and takes pride in his spellcasting abilities. He is known to be somewhat egotistical...but only to himself.
Tanyu, being the most keen fighter in the group, is the first to hear the approaching threat. A small creak of wood from the far upper left of the clearing alerts him to something out of the ordinary. Kaluth is next to notice, but not from the creak, simply from the waver he felt in his warding field. Will, who was at the time having a conversation with Katt and Jenovia, stopped in mid-sentence when he turned and saw two eyes staring back at him from under some trees....
Will- "Uhh...guys?? What is that??"
Tanyu is now standing next to cobra
Tanyu- "I have no...ahh!!"
The monster steps out from the clearing very suddendly. He knocks two trees down as it comes crashing into the clearing. Kaluth is standing now, not far from where Tanyu was sitting on the edge of the cliff. He makes no attempt to do anything...he simply watches.
The beast, a 13 foot tall giant, towers over every member in the group. He clenches his fists, crosses his arms over his chest, and then lets out a bellowing roar that makes everyone cover their ears.
Kaluth (to tassatul) - "Tassatul! Aid them! This is one foe that will not topple easy...expecially when his friends hear his battlecry..."

(ooc: I broke this up into two posts, one for my experiences in the past days, next for the battle) *The past few days have been some of Tass's finest. Having been with Kaluth since very early childhood, Tass never got to be really good friends for long before the two traveled to the next town.
Some of Kaluth's coldness towards others rubbed off on Tass, but was shattered by the friendlyness of the westerners, Will and Katt, Tanyu, and Jenneva.
A few times Will would ask either him or Jenneva to demonstrate some magic. Tass gladly obliged, eager to practice his trade. But when Will asked about physics and such, Tass ignored him because, well, he really doesn't know what type of creature physics were. 
Tanyu and Tass got along fairly well, although Tanyu is a warrior of the body, while Tass is of the mind.
Kaluth was his usual cold self, and Tass noticed some of the others nervousness toward him.
Jenneva was another mageling, and Tass was a bit jealous becasue she seemed to have no master. * |

*Tassatul hears Kaluth's cry and looks at the beast*
How does Kal expect me to help? I have no summons
*Something tears at his leg. Looking down, he sees the beginings of an army of ants making their way through. About two inches long with viscous mandibles, Tass realizes these are not to be taken lightly. In large numbers, they can dissect entire people. . .or creatures*
*Tass moves to kick the logs of the camp's smoldering fire into the black mass of ants. Hundreds die instantly, and more continue to burn*
*Forgetting to draw his wand, Tass begins to raise the dead ants and orders them to swarm at the attacking giant. Soon it is covered in swarms of enraged undead ants*
'Quickly, Tanyu! Silence it before it can yell! My summons can only annoy it!'

(ooc- Ants? Thats not bad! But this guy wont be taken down that easy. This is supposed to be a big battle...one to really test the skills of the people in the group. Tass...I know your a summoner, but you still have normal spells like fire and such. You are low level however, so make them weaker...just keep in mind you are not limited to only summoning, that would be a pretty strange mage.)
Kaluth- "Shamark liiuth zolmolhye ahrolyrhy zhowkuy....zambuly holuyh liiuth."
A shimmering field of energy crackels around kaluth, then dissapears. A shiled has been risen. Kaluth observes Tassatuls actions and wonders if Tass is truly underestimating this foe....an elder mountain giant's skin in nearly rock hard. Their strength is incredible and their speed is truly amazing for their size...but the ants are not a bad distraction.

*Tanyu was watching the moon peacefully when he heard a rustling in the bushes and then a 'crunch' of a piece of wood*
Tanyu: (turning his head) "Hmm?"
*Thats when he sees the mountain giant aggressively come out of the wilderness and towards the group*
Tanyu: (getting up) "Woa! ...my stuff!"
*Tass does his undead ants attack thing while Tanyu runs and jumps for his stuff which he placed next to his sleeping mat*
Tanyu: "Eat this!"
*Throws a handful of poison darts at the giant first and then charges with his naginata*
(ooc: Now's time for someone else to do an attack)

Jenneva's eyes widen in panic as she lays eyes on the giant.
What the heck is that? I've never seen something like this before...
Jenneva tightens her grip on her falchion, mind working quickly to think of a spell.
There's no way in the East that Charm would work on this monstrosity. Fire..[/i]
*watches Tass kick the camp's fire up*
"Ah hah!"
*sheathes her weapon*
*raises her arms above her head and begins a chant. She lowers her hands, behind them a trail of red follows. Her hands begin to glow with a neon red-haze. The chant is completed, the spidery language of magic sets into motion. The flames from the fire pit suddendly erupt. Tassatul, who was standing not far from the fire, jumps back in alarm.
The flmaes roar, then seem to get blown towards Jenneva, the spell calles the flames toward her cupped hands. The fire completes its path, leaving only scolding embers in its wake, and now Jenneva holds a jumping ball of flame.*
"Eat This!!"
*The ball zipps towards the giant and erupts in a seething cloud of flame...*
(occ: since you guys know more about the giant than I do, I'm going to let one of you decide how the fireball affects him)

(ooc- That was very nice writing, if I might say so myself...the idea is good, only two problems with it. One: This guy DID resist Kaluths warding spell, which means that this guy does have some magical resistance and Two: Tanyu was ontop of the thing attacking....lol)

Katt: distraction? you should have just asked! Everyone get ready to close you eyes for a sec, im going to use a flash bomb. this'll give you guys a little time to prepare some more advanced spells or get out some of your more powerful weapons. seems like were gonna need a little more then just magic to kill this thing! this guys took us by surprize and hes going to regret it!
*Katt puts her goggles up and reaches down to her handy little belt*
Everyone ready? the flash will be real quick but it'll work, trust me!
*everyone sheilds their eyes, except for will and Katt, who have goggles down and are pretty used to starting a battle this way. Katts goggles are alot smaller and not as round as wills, and they also lack the lense adjustment that will right lens has, but they still work just the same. Katt throws down the grenade and there is a really bright flash of light. the giant never closed his eyes and can see nothing*
Katt: this effect wont last forever, but hopefully well have something for him to really roar about when he comes to

And we'll just say that he got a little bit hurt by the fireball) [Modified...again...] *Palla throws the fireball but hits Tanyu who was charging towards the monster*Tanyu: (getting hit in the back) "Ack" (falls, but then gets back up) "Watch where u're throwing your damn fireballs!!"  *Palla throws a second fireball*[end modification...] *The giant gets hit by the fireball and gets knocked back a bit but not seriously hurt. The Ants are annoying him, and the fireball really pist him off. The poison darts that Tanyu threw at him should take away some of his health, but now he's really pist**Tanyu charges towards the giant and then jumps up into the air, twirling his naginata above his head. He then comes down to give him a powerful blow*Tanyu: "EEEeeeyyyyaaaaahhhhh!!!!" *The giant sees him and blocks his attack with his giant meat club and then tosses Tanyu into a tree*Tanyu: "eeaaarrrgh...oooff" *BAM* (hits the tree) "ok, so the guy's tough..."  [addition - didn't read Katt's post until after i typed] *Then Katt throws her flash bomb, blinding the giant* |
