************************************************************ Preface ************************************************************ *The entire ship continued to sway, even after it had stopped. It was hard to tell, at first, if the ship even stopped. Up this far north the winds were almost always pretty strong.*"So... this is... Northport?" *Will was a true adventurer. Born in to a nomadic group of desert travelers, he was adventuring with his family since he was able to walk. He has seen the worst battles, the widest forests, the highest mountains, the deepest seas, the longest rivers, and the biggest cities.
But he's barely seen the East.*Will:"The city... it's all... made of... wood? Why? Midlam was too. Are they all like this?" ... Katt:"It's 'cause they don't have forges that big, stupid." *Answered Will's younger partner, Katrina, mockingly. The two of them have been traveling together for quite some time, although Will isn't really sure why. She got him in more then just a little trouble. In fact, it was almost entirely her fault that they are wanted across two continents.*
*The sounds of activity on the higher decks picked up, and Will caught a glimpse of the gangplank going down before he put on his cloak. The only way the two of them could get on this ship was by disguising as merchants and stowing away onboard. Will might be a teenager, but he could pass off as an adult with the proper disguises.*
*The two of them made thier way up the ship's decks and flights, eventually reaching the sunlight. They avoided as much contact as possable, which wasn't hard, seeing as at least half of these so called "merchants" were probably smugglers. Everybody on this ship kept to themselves.*
*Will gazed up at the sky through the small eyespace in his cloaks headress*Will:"It's like... diferent. A diferent color of blue..." Katt:"That's 'cause we're so far north. Don't you know anything?" *Will took it almost offensively.*Will:"What's up with you? You've been whiney this whole trip." *There was a short pause as the two of them walked down the gangplank.*Katt: "I was just thinking about the guards, and stuff. They wouldn't even listen. Oh well, that boat trip made me feel better. Even though Sailships are as slow as dead people, they're just so... cool!" *Will jokingly raised his hands under his cloak, pretending to be a ghost.*Will, in a stupid, ghostly sounding tone: "You... should not... talk of the dead...that way..." *he put his arms back down and laughed a little, then said in an even more joking tone-*Will: "This is the east! Land of magic... land of... other stuff like that. The dead come back from the grave! They'll hunt you down while you sleep!" Katt: "Knock it off... we'll get spotted if you keep stuff like that up...." *she couldn't help but laugh a little, though. Will always used to make fun of all the stories they heard about the east. What good could magic be compared to real, solid, actual technology! Well... that's the way Will felt anyway. Cass had learnt a few spells of her own out of curiosity, and actually looked forward to seeing the East.*Will: "So uh... what now? And do we really need these cloaks? We're not wanted in this city..." *Katt just shrugged. Her bad mood seemed to be fading off.*
*Cobra just couldn't help but gasp as he walked in to the first street of the city.*"W... wow..." *The city was so full of people, but the buildings were only one or two stories. Will found that so odd. You could see the sky, and a huge moutain chain in the distance. There were no other towns in visual distance, and all the land was either planes or forest. This city was a port city, so it was low, and the view wasn't very far. But it was still awe-inspiring.Katt: "I just love it how they can cram so many people in to so small buildings. I wonder how they do it...?" *She grinned*Cobra, in a snotty, whiney voice: "Stop asking stupid questions." *he sighed a little.*Cobra: "Ok... let's find an inn, or something." (Ok. We find our way to an inn, an inn Jennava (Palla's character, if you've forgotten) is staying in. We decide to 'borrow' some money and food from her to get started, and get away with it too. But then she finds us on our way leaving the city. Sound good?)

(ooc: ok, i read the intro. Its awesome! I can enter the story whenever i want since i dont have any strings attached to my character to anyone else. The only thing is that i dont have time to do a formal entry right now. I promise I'll do it on Friday night or on the weekend... I guess i could just have my character just hanging out somewhere else in this city u're in. I'll probably just have him run into you guys. You dont contact him, he will contact you, hehehe .)

(Ok. We'll try to pick up palla as soon as possable. As for the next RPer, it's probably going to have to be Katt, or palla might be able to post too. As for me, I can't post.
Oh, and you asked me today in school, but I couldn't properly answer you. Yes there is a 'east east' like a far eastern continent. The Eastern continent is referd to as "The fractured Continent" because it is actually 4 smaller continents close together- The central one (the largest, and the one we are on now) The southern one (a smaller, less populated one, mostly small towns and farms) and the eastern one (the 'ansectral home of magic'.) The fourth is a very small continenet/large island. A single, powerful empire/kingdom resides there, and it's to the north of the main continent.)

*Katt and Will walk into the little tavern with their hoods pulled over their heads, arms crossed and looking at the ground. will made them do this so they wouldnt be recognized, katt thought it was stupid. they sit at a table away from the commotion of the tavern and mind their own business*
Katt: hey Will, you do realize we have absolutly no money, right?
Will: we dont need money you know. what do we need to buy?
Katt: a place to sleep. i mean i enjoy sleeping under the stars and all, but i really want to sleep in a bed soon! hey... maybe we could...
Will: NO! no more of yours stupid plans! thats why were here in the first place, remember.
Katt: *Katt takes her hood down, i guess to show that shes not really worried about getting caught* nah, were in the east, you know. theres like, no security here at all. all you have to do is make a diversion out here while i sneak upstairs to one of the rooms. the people staying here seems pretty rich, they wont miss a couple coins, right? and it is going to a good cause ;D.
Will: ugh, you want to get us convicted here too? cant we just leave?
Katt: no way! come on, what could go wrong?
Will: Whatever... but if you get caught, i dont know you and you dont know me! got it?
Katt: you'd abandon me? how nice... alright just make a distraction, start the drunkards singing or dancing or something.*katt sneaks off before he even gets a chance to say no*
Will:*loudly whispering to try to stop katt, but let no one else hear* Katt! katt, wait! ugh... distraction? hmmm.....
*by now, Katt is already upstairs, looking for an empty room to plunder. then Katt finds a room with no one currently inside, but theres a back pack and a couple of things unpacked on the bed*
Katt (thinking): heh, just what i was looking for. the person who rented this room must be out getting a drink or in town or something... perfect
*katt looks around the room for a bit, being very quiet. she searches for a change purse, but finds none*
Katt (thinking): damn it... they must have taken it with them... anything here i can sell?
*at that moment she hears footsteps out side the door, so katt just takes the whole pack and puts it on as her own, and walks out of the room casually. the footsteps were of one of the servants at the tavern.*
Servant: this your room?
Katt: of course! whay else would i be here? silly person...
*With this, katt just walks away, as if what she were saying was true. she then walks down the stairs to see a large pile of very drunk people, all trying too keep their balence. As she feared, will stands at the bottom, trying too keep the crowds attention in one place*
Will: ha! thats it! hey everybody, look at this! aint it cool?
*Katt approaches will*
Katt: A human pyramid? i asked for a diversion, not a mass suicide!
Will: ah, they'll be fine. look at 'em! they're having fun!
Katt: ugh, lets just go sit back down... i got what i wanted, and now i want a drink.
*as will and katt sit down, a large man enters the tavern, and starts talking to random people. as soon as hes done talking to one, he moves on to the next*
Katt: wonder what he wants....
*before long, that big man is at Katt and Wills table*
Man: Im just going around, trying to help keep the peace. you can help by telling us what you know. there was a murder of a noble in a small town a little ways away, and we think the culprits fled to a town around here do you know anything about this? they were suspected to be from the west but...
*the officer obviosly couldnt tell that Katt and Will were westerners, becaus ethey had cloaks to cover they're gear*
Katt: westerners? no, sir, havent seen any of those! *Katt grabs will by the upper arm and starts to tug.* sorry, we should really be going, hehehe. *to will* come on, you!
Katt and will make their way out of the tavern*

A small young woman walks through the main room of the inn/tavern. She spots the human pyramid. "What on Earth?" She sees a boy standing off to the side, the ring leader of the whole thing. Turning, Jenneva walks up a flight of stairs and down the hall toward her room, rubbing her neck. "Man, this adventuring is harder than people make it seem!" *shakes her head* "Harder, but definitely more interesting. How drunk do these people get?" *mutters* "Anyone who gets into a human pyramid is definitely drunk....or crazy." Along the way she bumps into another young woman. ( ) "Excuse me!" Jenneva snorts in disgust. As she enters her room, she instantly notes that something is wrong. "What the...where is my backpack?" The room is torn apart in the process of searching for her bag, one of her few possessions that traveled with her from her home. "Damn it!" she groans. "Great. Now all I have is robes, weapons, and a horse with a temper worse than a Westerner. What the heck am I gonna do?" (all mumbled to herself) *next morning* Jenneva wearily wanders out of the inn, caring her staff in hand, walking toward the stables to retrieve her horse, Neko. (yes, I do know what that means. I thought I might as well make something slightly out of place.) Saddling the tall mount, she swings up into the saddle and begins a trot toward the outskirts of town.

*Will and Katt are walking out of the town. Out to explore the wilderness, look for something they might actually be able to make a profit off of. Or for another town. They might actually be wanted here...*
Will: Ok. We're in the outskirts of the city now... *Will takes off his cloak. His long, red scarf suddenly whips out in the wind, as if exploding from his neck. His Scale mail shows it's age, but still shines in the sunlight. His sword is reasonably big, larger then a normal sword, but not quite a full greatsword. His raggedy, long, uncombed brown hair is held out of his eyes by a pair of goggles around his forehead. The light winds whip it around here and there.*
Will: "So... This is it! The start of a ...whole... new..."
*Will gets a sudden feeling of being watched. Then he notices that a person on a hoarse has been walking next to them for a while now- he didn't notice her before because of the crowds, but now there were less people.*
*It's a young girl. The hoarse is tall, and any easterner would know that this person is a mage-in-training (Mageling). Will dosn't know that, though. She seems to be staring right at will, not moving her gaze... just staring intently...*
Will: "Ummm... Can I help you?"
*She just continues staring at him. It gives him a very stange feeling. He looks a little closer at the girl... Wait, she's not looking at him. Just a little...bit...to the left... Right at Katt's backpack...*
*Will takes a step back, so Palla and Katt have an open path right between the two.*
Will: "Oh no..."

(ooc: Screw it, I haven't seen, Dan, and he might be mad, but I'm starting out. . .)
*Deep in a forest, two small tents sat next to a couple of horses. Inside one tent, a young, energetic Mageling couldn't sleep*
Master Kal is so strict sometimes. . .He made me summon that boring rat over and over today. Why can't I learn something more exciting, like reviving a bear or something. . .
*Tassatul Asunmor, called Tass, got up and exited his tent*
Perhaps a short walk will bring sleep to me
*Tass had only walked a short distance when he heard a commotion up ahead. Jogging foreward, he witnessed a large ktalli beast attacking its prey*
*The large beast had strength and speed on its side, but not much brainpower. The prey dashed into a poison thicket, and dodging the nettles, escaped. The ktalli did not fare as well. Charging into the brush, the nettles scraped through is hide, quickley poisoning it. It fell to the ground, dead*
'Finally! A real chance to prove I can handle more than just rats!' said Tass, bringing out his bone wand.
*Crafted from demon bone, its was very powerful and expensive. A gift from his father, who had come by it on one of his own adventures. Tass took it and uttering a few words, proceeded to revive the beast*
'Master Kal will be amazed at my skill!'
*A flash of light shone from the wand, and created an aura around the beast. Rising, it stumbled a bit, then looked at Tass. Something was wrong. The beast abled toward Tass threateningly*
'Uh-oh. . .'

*Katt returns the magelings glare, but katt honestly cant recall the reason for the hostility*
Katt: i can tell you want something... are you going to tell me, or are you just going to stand there? *Katt drops what she is holding, which is just a worthless bag that she boosted from the... oh crap...* Wait.. the bag... err.... hey, does this belong to you? because, you know, i kinda just found it... on the ground... and picked it up so no one would... steal it... i was holding for you! so here it is, just for you!
*katt walks up to the horse with the bag and hands it up. She looks up at palla with bright eyes and an innocent smile, trying to convince her, or at least make her beleive, that shes not entirly a bad person. under the circumstances though, a smile isnt going to do the trick. katt is obviously guilty of something, all the evidence in right there. she has numerous lockpics and traps and potions all on the belts are scattered along her waist and some on her upper legs too. even though she is still wearing her long black cloak, its only attached by a brooch at the neck and easily blows open in the slightest breeze, revealing all of her gear, not to mention the hood has been down since she left the tavern.*
Katt: so uh... you from around here?

(ooc: oh, Will, what i meant was like an asian themed continent or place. If there is such a place, i could have that as my character's origin, if not, then he's just some guy from some eastern place... now on with my entry! ;D) *ahem...now going back in time, we find ourselves a few posts in the past, hehe. The scene is the morning when Will, Katt, and Jenneva are about to leave the tavern/inn (see Heather's post for the referrence to the morning). Over by the bar, we find Tanyu crouching over and nursing a glass, some herbs, and an egg. He looks hung over and his eyes are sagging heavily. He's trying to make a concoction (cure(1) ) for his headache. As Will, Katt, and Jeneva each made their ways out of the inn, they unnoticingly each bumbed Tanyu in the back. When Jeneva bumped him, it caused him to drop the egg he was trying to crack open onto his shoe. That was the last straw*Tanyu (dull voice): "Dang punks... making me drop my egg...I needed that for my headache..." *He slowly gets up to follow the culprits. His steps seem a bit unbalanced and confused but he pursues anyway keeping a well distance between them and himself. Now we're at the scene where the paths of Will, Katt, and Jeneva cross in the outskirts of town. Tanyu keeps watch on top of a high tree branch which he speedily climbed even in his bombed stat. They are completely unaware of his presence*Tanyu: "*hic*...what are those kids up to...?"

(occ: note to katt- my character is Jenneva, not Palla) Jenneva raises an eyebrow at the girl. She seems innocent enough, but...that is my backpack.*inward shrug*I wonder...*Jenneva continued to glare at the girl*Her eyes narrow. "So, it was you!" *grabs the bag from Katt, but refrains from unsheathing her weapons. Not wanting to enter into a fight ( ), she decides to let the event slide.*"I guess everythings all right, as long as nothing is missing..." *she juggles the bag in her hand and notes that nothing missing.*"Now, who are you and why were you stealing from me in the first place?"

(ooc: Tass, nice entry, I have an idea...I'll tell you in a personell message)
Kaluth sits in his tent eyeing the magical portal that steadily wavers in front of him. He awaits a response from the High Mage Council.
Soldar: "So you are nearly here? How is he doing?"
Kal: "His progress is satisfactory, it will still take time. Yesterday I made him master another summon...a bone rat...I was surprised at how fast he ended up completeing his incantations. His tounge is definately attuned to the Art."
Soldar leaned back in his chair. He was the head of the Mage Council, a great Wizard of the Elements, able to control a powerful part of nature itself. It was from him that Kaluth received his Staff (the staff of the Greater Elements) Kaluth did not have many friends, but Soldar was one of his rare few.
Soldar: Good...good...now Kal, " Using Kaluth's informal name...a name not used very often, "How do you think he will handle the human summoning? He longs to be a necromancer after all...he must know what that entails...bringing the dead back to life-- their bones anyway--is a hard life unless you are hardened to it. Can he do it?"
Kaluth shuddered. His own recalling of his first demon Conjuring was still haunting. He had summoned a fallen warrior, that was very nearly human, to aid him against an attacker. The warrior, long dead, seemed to have stregnth far beyond what a a corpse called from another plane should have. It was gruesome...yet somehow....beautiful.
Kaluth: "It is a test that only the best must pass...I'll will arange it before we arrive"
Soldar: "Good, I'll expect you here in one week. Make sure to not pass through the town on your way. Make him suffer a little, you must harden him for his training. Oh, and youd better go see what he's done....now....
The portal wavered and dissapeared. Kal rose, the blood-red robes draped around him in a waterfall of velvet flowed to the ground. He grabbed his staff and quickly exited the tent. Then he heard footsteps and knew it was Tass running towards him....

(ooc: About me summoning a dead corpse, Conjuriers can, but not from a fallen corpse infront of them. Necromancers will take a freshely fallen corpse or bones that they find and re-animate them. The flesh, although not used, willl still drape on the skelington. A conjurers' corpse will use its muscels, but it is conjured from another plane. All of Kal's conjurering will conjurre something from another plane.
So in recap :
Summoner / Necromancer (a branch of summoning) = re-animating dead corpses to serve the summoner temporarily.
Conjurer = Calling other living beings from other planes to serve me temporarily on this plane.
Danger in Summoning: The dead wish to remain dead. There slumber is not to be disturbed. They will fight for the right to return to the enternal sleep. If the summoner cannot win the mental battle, the summon will kill its caller and retrun to its sleep. If the summoner wins the mental battle, he will have complete control over the being.
Danger in Conjuring: The conjured being wished to remain on its plane. The conjurer must win a mental battle over his conjured. If the conjurer wins, he has complete control over the summon. If the conjurer looses, the summon will kill the conjurer but instead of returing to its own plane, It has the option to stay on this one and return when it pleases. sronger conjurering leads to greater danger and the same with Summoning )

Heather, Charm (2) puts voice in another person's mind, you can't read it. you have no mind reading spells. Please try to stick to the profile... you can't read mind. That is a very very very dificult task.
As for dan and tass, so far so good. nothing I see wrong. In fact, I'm liking your little story so far. But, it must be at diferent times, remember that. It's morning for us, but aperently night for you.
