*The group makes it way toward the Inn, Jenneva being dragged ahead by the kids. As the approach, a medium sized woman walks out and looks around. Spotting the children, she smiles and waves.*

"Ali, Mera, Jacen, who are your new friends?"

Jenneva- "Hello, ma'am. My name is Jenneva and these are some of my friends."

Woman- "Ah, yes, of course. I have heard tales of you from the villagers that have passed through my home in the last day. Thank you for all your help. I hope you will all come in and join my family for dinner. It should be ready shortly. I hope you'll all like it. Roasted rabbit with plenty of vegetables left over from the last harvest. And, for dessert, apple cobbler!"

*Tanyu is noticabley drooling at the mention of food*

Jenneva- "Thank you for your hospitality."

*The group enters the inn and sits around the llarge dining table, joined by the woman's husband and a few house guests. Prayers are silently whispered and the meal begins*

((Bug Hunter, I hope you don't mind what I said about Tanyu. I thought it would be appropriate, since he was the one talking so excitedly about food.))

*Will sits alone, staring intently at his books. He dosn't even know the others were invited to dinner, but incidently, he carries a good supply, probably most if not all of the groups rations on him. He has bags and puches all over him (except when he fights), being both a scientist and an aimless wanderer, so whatever they don't put on the horse goes to him.*

The first time I saw the sword, I suspected it of being of western origin. I suspected that the blade might be magnetically focused energy along the lines of my rifle. However, after seeing the blade up close, I can safly say that's not true. The blade is, literaly, a blade. It is focused and refined. Also, it changed shape acroding to the user. So it does indeed have magical properties. The hilt is extendable, it seems. This is possable by technology, and I would assume it is possable by magic as well.

The root of all my curiosity with this weapon is this simple question: Could this sword be magitechnology? It seems too complex to be that, but It's been dificult to keep up with news on magitechnology ever since the new emperor took hold of Katyr. Perhaps this is their newest line of swords? It dosn't seem to be mass produced. And if it was indeed Katyrian, why would a demon have it?

When I get a chance to study the sword more closely, I'll look for signs of any kind of western engineering.

*Will concludes that, that is all he can write about the sword untill he gets a better look at it. He decides to write about other things.

But the curiosty bugs him so much, he can't move to another subject. After fidgeting and shift uncomfortably for a few minutes, he gets up and resolves to find the rest of the group.*

((That last paragraph takes palce just when everybody sits down for dinner, so the rest of my post before that takes place a little back in time.))

*He looks briefly for the group, but the only one he can find is Kal, who is the only one still at the makshift camp they set up outside of town before they started helping with the reconstuction. Kall sits alon, reading through his books and whatnots.*

Will: "Where is everyone?"

Kal, without even looking up: "I don't know, nor do I care..."

Kal then stands, totally ignoring Will, and begins to chant the acient language of magic. His hands move in a grace that seems impossible for an old man's fingers. Letters in a language that Will has never seen before appear in the air at the ends of Kaluths fingers. After about seven seconds of chanting, the letters suspeneded in the air by magic meld together and form a circle of blue. The ring glows brighter, and then flashes. The Portal is opened.

Kaluth to Soldar- "Greetings High Mage. I hope that I am not late..."

Soldar to Kaluth- "No Kaluth, you are right on time, as usual. I have heard disturbing rumors Kaluth about demons in the West Coast. Tell me, what have you learnt of them?"

Kaluth to Soldar- "There was a demon here, his influence had not streched far and myself, along with this band that I now travel with, took care of the demon without too much trouble. It was not a higher demon I can assure you of that. It seemed to be a power-hungey demon who was not satisfied with his influence on his own plane, so came here to wreak havok. And yes Soldar, I know what you are thinking, no I could not have reasoned with him....my apprentice and the rest of the band would not have enjoyed that very much. Oh and please forgive me, this seeing portal is not the most...secluded" says Kaluth, glancing at Will, who is circiling the portal and kaluth, completely facinated with the 'seeing portal'

Soldar to Kaluth- "Oh yes and about your apprentice, how goes his progress?" Soldar says, in a nearly chipper voice.

Kaluth to Soldar- "Tass's progress is comming along much faster than expected. He is still a little too dependent on that wreched bone wand...and it appears that the demon had posession of the wands counterpart, the bone staff. He now has one of the most potent summoning devices known to me....I just hope that he dosnt figure out how to use it. That would be most...frustrating. As far as human res'ing goes, it is evidnet to me that he has the innate ability to bring people back to life when the time arrises, for he did so with this...pest...circling me."

Kaluth glances at Will, who is about to reach out and touch the portal. "I highly advise you not to touch that...unless you want to have your arm burst into flames"

Will to Kal- "It would do that?"

Kal to Will- "No...I would"

Will backs off

Kal to Soldar, who is grinning- "But as far as human summoning, he has not. He has however, controled orcs and goblins, he has not yet questioned what exactly he is doing with the soul he captures for that brief time....and I dont know why but he insists on heaving his summons from cliffs in order to end the summon instead of simply dismissing the being...."

Soldar to Kaluth- "I see...well anyway, would you like a trans-portal anywhere in particular? Or do you wish to continue this journey by foot?"

Kaluth to Soldar- "I will send you a responce to that later this evening...I must first consult with the entirety of my party"

Soldar to Kaluth- "it is unlike you to worry about the decisions of others kaluth, are you falling victem to friendship for once? Haha! I never thought I'd see the day! You know wha....."

Kaluth closes the portal with a wave of his hand.

*The group, excluding Will and Kal, are making slight chatter with the others. Tanyu is engaged in a conversation with the husband about battle. Katt, the subject of being bombarded with peas by the children, is retaliating with her vegetables. Tass is poking at his food, deep in thought, while Fighter looks fidgety.*

((I wasn't sure what to do with you all. This is only basics, do what you like.))

Wife- "After dinner, the men are welcome to join my husband outside for a pipe. The women, of course, will stay here with the children and talk of such things."

*The look on Jenneva's face says she would much rather be outside than stuck inside talking about...girly things. Glancing at Katt, she can tell the younger girl didn't hear anything. To Jenneva, Katt didn't seem like the type to like this stuff either.*

Jenneva- "That is a generous offer, but I am sure I myself will have to return to camp. Our group does have a long journey to begin."

*At mention of this, Jenneva looks around for Kal and Will.*

Jenneva- "Where are the others, anyway?"

Katt: well ill stay inside with the kids, thats fine by me. plus, i still have to get that little rascal back for lobbing a carrot at my head...

*she gives a playful glance to one of the children*

Will: "So, Hypothetically, if I DID touch that portal what would happen? How do you know where the portal goes? How do you control it? Do you need someone else to... act as an anchor for it?"

*As per usual, will gets so caught up in his curiosity he completly forgets he meant to ask kal about that sword.*

*Jenneva sighs*

"I'll help with the dishes."

Wife- "Wonderful. Of course you and your friends are welcome to stay for the night. The girls can sleep in the children's room and the men can sleep beside the fire."

*Tass pokes at his food, deep in thought, still wondering about his powers, his staff, and the coming visit with the Mages Council*

*After finishing his meal, he joins the Husband outdoors for a smoke*

Man: "Heh, I was a great hunter back in my prime. Once took out a zrinkath. Huge beasts, you know"

Tass: "Surely you dont hunt for sport?"

Man: "Of course not! The zrinkath's meat is the best this side of the continent"

*They continue talking for a while, then Tass makes his way to a room in the inn, and collapses ont eh bed, instantly asleep*

((It was specifically stated that, due to all of the people killed, there would be massive vacancies. That was the reason Tanyu agreed to come to the inn in the first place, I believe.

Sorry for so much "chat" and not enough action, but I cant RP untill dan posts. Which will happen more often now, by the way. His internet was down for a while, but its back now. Just to let you all know. So don't blame him.))
