I said it would just be a PORTION of a war. And, its easier to roleplay if the players are fighting against eachother. It also gives an element of teamwork and strategy if there are players on both sides, because sometimes its not fun to say,
Doggy shoots at 'Guard' with assault rifle. Guard gets hit in leg. Guard gets angry and punches doggy, who promptly shoots again.

Its a good idea to do an rpg about some kind of war, and if you want to limit posts, you can put it on a turn based system....thats what will is trying to do with the New World RPG (the one with the five countries). I think if you get enough people intersted, you can go for it. Personally, I dont think I"m going to keep out of this one though. A tad too much for me to handle right now...no more rp-ing for a while.

hey what about a vietnam war rpg.player devide into platoons or groups and there will be seperate stories for each of them also they will join some how.like making a playing board that updated every couple of days.each platoon or groups would be a game peice and as they moved they would move threw out the bored.kinda like risk mixed with medal of honor.ud pick ur weapons and what not then randomly positions would randomly be given out.so u could ether be a private a corpral or what not.there would be hit points and what not and eventualy poepl would die or what not.only problem would be it would take two or three people to maintain it other then that i like the idea

There was a WaD RPG (That basicvally means 'unrealeased') that followed that system almost exactly. It was called UC vs UEG... or something... to be honest I forget.
Anyway, it involved the players all being soldiers ina war taking place in the very near future. A large war is going on, between a united Earth, and Colonies which orbited it. PLayers were members of a squadren, and if they were on two different teams, they would know totally different stuff (there were two password-protected baords).

I'd be thrilled to play a rpg that involves warfare. Although I'm not too sure about playing one that pits members against each other. It may add to the story, but without a clear set of rules defining a charecters actions, and without a little bit of random luck (such as dice) things could get out of hand. For instance:
PVT Parts is out on guard duty smoking a cigarrete.
CPL Dumb ass of the opposing force quickly and efficiently kills the stupid private.
Were PVT Parts a players charecter, I'm sure there would be more than a little bit of hostility directed towards the player that controls the CPL.

*LOL* Just reread the last thread and it brought back a memory from when I was out at a firing rang. There was a captain out there from a different unit. His name was Captain Dick. Nothing to it until he gets his promotion. . .

Hmm, I almost forgot about this thread. Maybe we should put it back to use? Or do you think we dont need it since we've gone back to just creating new threads to present new rpgs?

I think it's kind of obsolete. We're creating new threads for the rpgs and they are being created, or the ideas are being created, at a pretty rapid rate. If we limited them to this thread, you'd find them overlapping.
