With an "l", even. EDIT: Holy 3-hour download, Batman! I guess I don't get to play until tomorrow...

No, there are no non-combat classes in the sense of SWG. I think I might be the only one who knows what you're talking about... Its like WoW in that there are proffesions. I havn't played the game but I've learned that much through research and talking to people... I don't think I'm wrong but I could be.

Ah, well. Still looks good. Maybe I'll even get to play it, if it ever finishes downloading. While I'm busy, this game is amusing, even with only the demo version: www.everybody-dies.com/WOULD YOU LIKE TO PLAY A GAME? Love to. How about Global Thermonuclear War? WOULDN'T YOU PREFER A GOOD GAME OF CHESS? Later. Right now lets play Global Thermonuclear War. FINE.

Ahhh, Defcon. The saddest game I've ever played. Multiplayer is also very popular at cass' college from what I understand.

I love it because I first heard about it literally the day after I first watched WarGames. Never noticed the free demo version until now.

I saw wargames first when I was a little kid. I couldn't really understand it, being a kid and all, but it had a talking computer and I loved it.
I saw it again when I was a little older and I grew to like the movie even more. Its one of my favorites now.
Anyway, I have some gaming news! But I'm not sure if it applies to everyone here. The guy behind Morrowind and Oblivion, has joined Big Huge Games (Who made Rise of Nations and also Rise of Legends), and they will be opening a console-RPG development studio.
Big Huge sucks at storytelling, but make solid gameplay desicions, and really have some creative minds (Its a difficult mix to describe, making sucky stories but having really creative minds... you have to play Rise of Legends to see what I'm talking about...). When I read the news the first thing I thought was "Rise of Legends RPG" but I doubt that'll be. Also, they're saying that the console RPGs will almost defiantly be ported to PC.
Here's hoping for a beautiful steampunk linear RPG, some years down the road...

oh hey, the guy who did the sound design and music for Rise of Legends visited my college. He gave an awesome presentation.

Its too bad ride of legends did so bad. It really could've started something wonderful. It was such an artistically original game. The music, the setting, the units, it was amazingly designed. It had poor online play, though, the campaign was tedious and poorly written, and the overall gameplay was a little shallow... plus it was hardly marketed, so few people heard about it...
Still. For me, the whole game was worth just being able to play Steam powered tanks and clockwork robots vs dragons and scorpion riders.

I bought FF6 advanced. Yay for me.
In other news, I'm so pre-ordering the LotR game. I mean it. I'm doing it for reals this time. The server I play on crashed for 15 minutes, and I went into WoW for that time to wait for LotR to come back up. I missed LotR so badlyy and kept thinking about all the specific things I missed. Man.
Also, the banner thing I mentioned earlier. I figured out what it is. It's a "summon" of sorts that the captins have that provides leadership bonuses to them and whatever fellowship they're in.
Also, I've joined a kinship (guild). It's a super cool one too because it's only for people who chose Rohan for their ancestry. ;D

I have no idea. All I know is that they changed some item names. Like "soft" potions are now "gold needles" and stuff like that. That and they either changed the music or it just sounds different coming out of DS light speakers than from computer speakers. Also, Cyan's "sword" technique thingy is now called "bushido", but that's so much cooler anyway. ;D

I did hear it got a new translation but... Only specific thing I heard was that in one part, they were originally beaten and tortured, but in the new one they're just held in a cell.

Actually, didn't Celes get the crap kicked out of her when she was found to be a traitor? I thought I remembered the guards beating her, but they didn't this time.

Oh yeah. It was nothing major. The one guard punched Celes twice while she was being held, before Locke rescues her.
The only other part I'm thinking is when Kefka poisons that city... but that's a major plot point, I don't think they could change that...
Well if that's the only censored part, well, that's stupid and dumb, but still worth playing I'd say... compared to other stuff in the game that's noting really (I mean, the genocide of Espers, for example) but I guess you're not supposed to punch girls.
