Only one of which was made by EA. And I know technically the money is still going to EA, but oh well. At least I am sending the message that C&C still has fans.

EA seems to be publishing Maxis now. Would you still buy Spore even if EA was publishing it? I'd buy Spore even if a class of first-graders was publishing it, I think. It looks too cool to ignore.

I've realized something. It's been about a year since I purchased a video game. I feel deprived, and must fix this problem at once. Only problem is, I don't know what to get. Neverwinter Nights 2 is the only thing that immediately comes to mind, and that's only because my friend mentioned it at lunch today. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Depends what kinds of games you like. My most recent purchases have been Psychonauts, Kingdom Hearts (first one), Lego Star Wars (the new one, and I got it for x-mas really), and they are all pretty cool. I love the Lego guys fighting and all that and they build lego pieces to help get further along. It's so dang cute!! ;D

I've been playing Oblivion, and the other day I bought the new Ghost Recon. Advanced Warfighters. It's been quite good thus far. There's not nearly as much briefing and such, I think because it's not actaully based on a novel, as there was in the original game(s). But it delivers in the squad coordination, realism, graphic, and overall goodness respects. Although I did walk up to one of my soldiers and shoot him in the face without killing him - your guys are harder to kill than the enemies.

I've already got Kingdom Hearts, and actually, KH2 was my last purchase. I don't have anything that could reasonably play Oblivion, but Psychonauts and Lego Star Wars are both viable options.

Psychonauts is so awesome, but it's one of those games that has a lot of tiny, tiny details that most developers don't bother with because...I dunno why. Like when you go into a person's mind you can find their "emotional baggage" which is literally a crying suitcase or duffel bag or hat box. Each person's mind is a unique and exciting dungeon type of place with pleanty of comedy and then some. You can't help but love the game. My favorite part so far (not verbatim): "Don't you get it? We're the only ones left who can save the world!"-Raz "Oh my gosh! Let's makeout!"-Lili

So. Hellgate: London subscription based multiplayer. I hate everything.

Goth. All the Psychonauts talk made me get my saved file off my laptop and play it on my new comp. First of all, holy crap, there are no more lagtastic framerates. All of the words match up with the mouths in the cut scenes. Also, it auto set to highest graphics I guess, because everything looks much, much sweeter than they did on the lappy. Other than that, I finished off Waterloo World and even beat Gloria's mind level as well. I feel so cool.

I just got out of that psycho milk man's mind, finally. I dont think i want to go back in there ever again... *twitch*... And for crying out loud! Dont ruin anything for me! I only just got to the insane asylum!
The PS2 version's graphics I can tell is lacking a bit, but they kept the personality and overall fun gameplay together, which i like. And I'm used to lower end graphics considering i've had to deal with that crap all through high school...

I love Boyd's mind! I love how the path is all twisty and turny, and who can resist those friggin hilarious G-men? "In time my husband will desire me less sexually, but he will always love my pie." Although the boss from that level is very...disturbing.

Seriously? That's not very Diablo-like at all. So, what, did Blizzard brainwash its employees to be cash whores before they let a lot of them go?

Meh... I felt Diablo II was very close to being an MMO anyway... it had the whole economy and trading and stuff, you know? But I was getting built up that Hellgate: London would be "Diablo reborn" and not "Diablo evolved"...
Oh well. To be honest, the gameplay always put me off a little anyway... and who knows, maybe it'll be an awesome MMO... right?
Probably not.
Also, Huxley has come back into the light, they have started releasing bits and pieces of new information, as well as many more videos of actual gameplay. I'll tell you, these people can't write fluff for shit, but the gameplay is looking "Passable" at this point. I'm eager to see how it turns out, but at this stage, it could really go either way. Another cool thing is that the humans are like the bad guy race, and they are also steampunk-inspired (Meanwhile their opponents are cyberpunk inspired). That alone makes me want to play. There is a goth race for me to kill, too.
I'm trying not to get my hopes up, as in all honesty, both Asian MMOs and Asian FPSs suck. But who knows, right? We all have to keep that naive little spark of hope, you know? Even someone as bitter and jaded as me.

I still hold that bit of hope for Hellgate. Maybe it will overthrow Warcraft, and then. . . I guess it wont be so bad trading on subscription fee for another. I guess. Ugh. At least I still have Steam.
EDIT: This from Shacknews: "Update: Since posting our original news item on the matter, Shacknews has been contacted by Electronic Arts, which is co-publishing the game along with Namco Bandai. EA noted that there has not in fact been any final decision made as to Hellgate: London's online pricing model, be it subscription-based or otherwise. We respect this situation, while maintaining that we have reported fairly on statements we received. A full interview is forthcoming."
