After much research and considering both sides of the argument (which everyone who truely believes in thinking for themselves should do), I've decided not to champion either side at the moment (especially since i'm not an expert or have been a part of any major research project) and just call 9/11 what it is, a terrible disaster for everyone and it shouldn't be forgotten. But the fact of the matter is, after 5 years since then, our global relations has truely gone to sh*t and defucting the myths does nothing to improve the image of this terrible administration which definitely has a lot more than 9/11 conspiracies to worry about on their rap sheet (*cough*oil*racism*cough*homelandsecurity*cough*Iraq*homosexuality*rich vs. poor*cough*warmongers*cough*Osamanotcaught*)
My gawd, I can't imagine any more fronts they can screw up. Even without the 9/11 conspiracies there's still enough to make the government look bad... sigh.

You're seriously condemning the administration because one man was not caught? One out of six billion. This one man who has a vast an intricate terrorist faction, who is probably very intelligent (he went toe to toe with the greatest nation on earth and in a way, came out on top). Homeland security? Would YOU have thought of hijacking planes with plastic box cutters and then crashing them into important buildings, killing yourself? Since then, the nation has been on lockdown, with only a little ease recently. I'd say Homeland Security stepped up since the attacks.
But honestly, what am I arguing. Yeah, the administration has done its share of fuck-ups. Thats not what I was talking about. I have seen nothing that could convince me that 9/11 was an inside job, and plenty of reason that it really couldnt work.

Did I say just because of one man not being caught is the cause of disappointment?? I'm sure i made a list somewhere in that post.
Did u know that members of the Bin Laden family were allowed to leave the US after 9/11 happened and not a single one held for questioning, but yet we do racial profiling every day to middle easterners here and do our own terrorizing to innocent people who are our own citizens that had nothing to do with the attacks? Hows that for f*cked up homeland security. And we so attacked Iraq for the oil, they didn't have a single thing to do with 9/11. And did u know that the Bush's did business with the Bin Laden family in the past as well? Hell, we used Osama and his men as allies in a previous military conflict. There is definitely some gritty dirt to be found there. And then we go and attack a country that had nothing to do with 9/11. If that doesn't sound like someone chasing after their own interests and not that of the people's, then I dont know what is. Oh and then lets distract the people from real problems because homosexuals are threatening the fabric of our society. Thats right, homos are just as dangerous if not more than muslims. But damn, its not just the administration, its the people themselves as well. They dont realize they're being used as sheep for these tyrants causes and many more dont even know how to think for themselves. And as the gap between the rich and the poor increases, and if nothing is done about it, u just know there's gonna be another revolution in the future. Oh and did u guys hear about the recent bill about the support for more torture in interrogations? You know, because our torture is much better than what Saddam's torture was.
And I've heard enough possible lies from both sides of the fence that I can't help but to think in the least that there's something going down somewhere. But damn, one of the greatest attacks on american soil and we never caught the one responsible after 5 years even though we have the strongest and most advanced military in the world? There's bound to be something really messed up with that. Bin Laden isn't a genius, we just let him get away. And he isn't supposed to be just any other person amongst 6 Billion, he's supposed to be listed as the most wanted person in the world, at least for us. Of course the muslim world considers him a hero. And if we continue bullying other countryies we're just gonna make a dozen more Osamas and he'll be the least of our problems. Go USA...

Osama is not "just some guy out of 6 billion." He is a very wanted man mixed in amongst 5,999,999 other people on Earth, some of which are helping him and some of which look a lot like him as well.
Also, we don't question Bin Laden's family or hold them in the US and that's a bad thing? Yeah, because obviously any one of Osama's family members is just as evil, if not more evil, than Bin Laden himself. I mean, all of Hitler's family was a bunch of flaming, raving Nazi facists just like Adolf, right? Not. And people being ignorant and using racial profiling is not the government's fault. The government isn't forcing people into thinking that all middle-eastern looking people are waiting for their turn to bomb a building. Racial profiling is a creation of American ignorance and fear. It's why we put all of the Japanese living here into internment camps during WW2; people were afraid of the Japanese rising up in the suburbs and the cities and joining with their home-country.
And who can honestly say that Bin Laden isn't a genius? The man lives in less than favorable conditions, but that doesn't mean he's stupid. Even people without educations can figure out how to successfully hide from armies and government agents, especially if all of the person's cohorts would rather die than give up the fight and his country is full of desert and rock and caves.
And how are people supposed to think for themselves on these issues when the news is too busy telling everyone about the old lady who was mugged and broke her hip, or the baby who was abandoned behind a restaurant, or how the Yanks/Mets/Cowboys/Raiders/Cardinals/Nicks/Celtics/etc. are doing in their respective sports? Americans choose to be ignorant because it's just easier. It's much easier to follow Hollywood drama than the political and economical standing of any country.
I have to stop now. Psychonauts finished downloading and I'm loosing my attention span for ranting.

Discussion is one thing, but I wont tolerate direct attacks. Both posts were deleted, and I dont want to see it again.
Onward:
Yup. I was pointing out that at least on of the reasons stood on shaky ground. Even if the rest of the points turn out true, it doesnt make ALL of them true.
Sarah's got me covered here. I'll just throw in this: take a look at the vast majority of terrorists. A good number of them happen to look Arab. Yeah, theres Timothy McVeigh and a few others, but when you think terrorist, dont you think Middle East? So is it really a bad move to check these people (as well as ANYONE who looks suspicious).
Yup. Can you argue that overthrowing Saddam was a bad thing to do?
And? I can't predict the future.
I'd say it's a worthy issue. How does one define marriage? A man and woman? Two men or two women? Someone and an animal? Where exactly do you draw the line without offending someone? I dont know the answer, but good job bringing up something unrelated.
Do you expect that the rich should just give up their money? Yeah taxation might need to change, but thats not really gonna take a big hit out of rich people, unless you REALLY tax them hard, and thats not fair, now is it?
Its a tough issue, but I will say this. Saddam tourtured his own citizens for less than 'moral' reasons. We (I hope) are doing it for the greater good (ie stop terrorism), and I personally dont really hold any sympathy for someone who would kill innocents merely because they are infidels.
I'll say it again. He's just one man and he has a network of supporters. The US military is powerful, but we cant check every building of every city of every nation that might be housing him.
Yep.
So I guess we should just forgive and forget the deaths of American people and the destruction of a national icon.

Ah. I forgot something I wanted to mention about Bush doing "business" with the Bin Laden family. Didn't the government also sell weapons to two countries who were fighting each other at one point so that we didn't really have to choose sides? And hasn't the government handed out weapons to countries to dispatch of problems we couldn't openly handle without looking bad in front of all the other major countries? It was wrong for us to do any of those things, but it's done and can't be helped now. There's no point in blaming the government for giving them the weapons they use against us. They have the weapons; let's just deal with that.
Also, sorry for the post Tass. I was cranky from being woken up when I posted it. I felt bad later and hoped it would be deleted so, thanks.

No worries, it happens : )
Maybe we should all talk about something nicer. Like, robots or something.

Ach! I got Psychonauts, which sort of rhymes with robots if you want it to, and it's one of the greatest games I've ever played EVER! The graphics are toony and cute, but also very well done and excelently shaded. The story is great so far: psychic kid runs away from circus and his psychic-hating family to go to a camp for psychics to become an elite psychic soldier (psychonaut) and has only a few days to do so before his parents come to pick him up and take him back to the circus. It's also very hilarious at times. I have never laughed so hard while playing a video game before. There's one part where you are a Godzilla-sized monster in a city of small lungfish being controlled by something called "Kochara", and the lungfish resistence/news names you Goggalor because of the red goggles you wear. You hear the citizens shouting things like "He's immune to bullets! And love!" Although, the best quote so far is when Raz (the main chara aka you) is explaining to a girl named Lili that they are in the middle of an extreme psychic emergency, the only two people who can help them are gone, and they are the only two who are left to save everyone, and she suddenly shouts "Oh my God! Let's make-out!" An interesting handicap for Raz is that he literally cannot go into deep water. A small stream is fine, but anything like a lake is off-limits because of a gypsie curse that was put onto his family that says everyone in his family will die in water. When you touch deep water, Raz jumps into the air and a hand reaches from the surface of the water to grab him. For one boss fight when you're in a psychic bubble underwater, you can see the hands floating around the outside of the bubble just waiting for you to get too close to the edge. Really freaky. And yeah, I know this isn't the videogame thread but....nyah!

I like eating cereal with ice-cream Interesting. I may try this. I wasnt a big fan of Psychonauts, although I only played the demo. I didnt really like that style of graphics, I guess.

Cocoa Pebbles and Pops beat the heck out of mere sprinkles.
Psychonauts is a kind of game i would get into. Its weird and different and graphically unique with tons of humor. Maybe I'll get it for the heck of it.

Anyone who considers getting it should get it. Seriously. Will says that the creators said if it sells well enough on Steam, they'll make a sequel. I want a sequel!!! ;D

If thats not enough to convince you, its made by Tim Schafer. He made Day of the Tentacle, The Secret of Monkey Island, and Grim Fandango, among others. Day of the Tentacle is one of my favorite games ever. And what I have seen of Psychonauts, its good as well.
