yeah, im not really regretting scheduling AP courses, like i know theyre gonna help me in college and all, but i guess im just not looking forward to the workload, upon other things. This is a bit belated, but oh man, youre soooo gonna regret signing up for all those AP courses. I dropped Calculus (im an english major, who needs math ) and only have four at this point (SU english, BCC Spanish and Social Studies, and AP physics) but its still terrible. I suppose when I finish, Ill feel better about it, but right now, as the heat is turned up for exams and finals, its really weighing down. And heres more of a rant against the system. So im taking 4 AP classes, plus Gym, Creative Writing, and Economics. Obviously, with the workload, grades will probably be lower. We do, however, get a "grade weight" of ten percent added onto any advanced course. Unfortunantly, this doesnt even close to make up for how hard the classes are. Right now, Im holding a 93, which is pretty damn good (i would say) in view of my classes (i think im the only senior who has this many advanced courses, im only one off the possible 5). So im ranked 14th in the class, right? (number one guy, 1-13 are girls ) A good portion of the top ten (I'll go with 6) ARENT EVEN TAKING ADVANCED COURSES! Thats right my friends, these kids are taking your basic 12 grade curriculum: 2 half year englishes, economics, gym, and a social studies. And yet they are top ten. How can this be fair you ask? Well, its a tough question. Yeah, theyre taking basic courses and excelling, they should probably be rewarded. But what about those of us who took the extra class (or 5), and cant keep up a 98-99 average? The 10% helps, but it doesnt seem enough to really balance it. (I'm kind of an exception, ive had around a 93-94 my entire high school career, I just needed to work to keep it this year). But moving up to 20% would be a very drastic change. That makes an 80 into a 96. Which would give someone like me around a 108 or so . Maybe something like 15% is the answer. Or should I just realize that im getting college credit, while these others are merely completing high school? But its not fair, they dont deserve their high class rankings! Or more correct, people in my situation deserve a higher ranking. whew.

wow Tass...all I can come up with in my current state is...
!#$%
...seriously though, I guess in the end...it's all dependant on situation, I didn't take any AP courses...but here at the AI, those would've spared me General Education clases to an extent...thusly, I wish I took them- but in other places, I know from talking to others, that all the advanced classes they took meant all of nothing to where they were going; so the work they did became nearly meaningless...which sucked ass of course.
damn man...that's rough though (for you I mean) sheesh

oh yeah, get this too. my guidence counceller came up to me and told me that only 8 out of 135 juniors signed up for honors english next year.... so she was kinda lik e"well, your already taking AP courses so why dont we just bump ypu up to AP literature..." so there we have it, an AP english course... fun fun...
its funny though, our school system doesnt seem to have that problem... but then again, im not sure how the system works. i know our valedictorian and the next 20 below him have at least honors classes, most of them AP. i dont think anyone who is taking all CP courses is even high up there. go figure though. i guess ill ask my giudence counceller about that when i for my college stuff...
(exempting from the physics final.. w00t!)
hehe, im taking AP lit and i cant even spell guidence counceller.... weee

yeah ap courses are really rough...
in my honest opinion, they are harder then college courses. I'm in college, and my highschool courses really were harder, but that my be becase I had 8 classes to worry about total, whereas in college most people have 4, 5, or 6 to worry about. Thats a LOT less.

Also, Francis, that site rules. I heard the beginning of that song once, and I loved it. The only thing that sucks about it is the whole "I play Nintendo instead of Xbox." That makes me feel sad inside.
