you know what all of you should watch and buy...the Looney Tunes Golden Collections! they may be very expensive (i've only bought the first...each one is a staggering $65 or more), but they're VERY VERY much worth it. The sets have awesome extras and have restored the quality of the cartoons to amazing lengths (the comparisons with the unrestored versions is outstanding!)
that was the true Golden Age of animation...those cartoons were brilliant
two thumbs recommendation!

Actually, I've been in a retro cartoon mood as well, although a slightly different flavor. I've been eyeing the original Gundam DVDs...

As a animation major, I definitely would love to check out that Golden collection of looney tunes. That would be fantastic research! And I love the Ultimate Showdowns. I saw the one with Godzilla, Indiana Jones, Batman, all the power-rangers, Chuck Norris, and Mr. Rogers! I guess if you don't know all the anime characters it's not as funny, but most of them are pretty universally known or at least easy to understand.  |

the Flash one is easier to understand since they're using the literal characters.
