I'd love a good Thundercats movie. Who wouldn't? Anyone who wouldn't is obviously some sort of fun-hating communist.

Well I thought a Terminator trilogy would be a given in this age of Hollywood. Anyone hear about the new Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicals tv series that's coming out? I'll definitely check it out. Its at least got that really hot chick who played River in Firefly. Man, she is soooo hot...

well...that's all and good...but I can't imagine a Terminator without Arnie...seeing as he won't be in it anymore...as far as I've known

Well the man's got a state to run. Besides, the skin on a Terminator doesn't have to come in the form of Ahnold

I can imagine any movie without Arnie...and I don't necessarily end up seeing them as bad movies when I do.

I have never heard of golden compass before I saw previews for the movie. It looked like a fairly generic kids movie (although the special effects looked good, but then again, what movie's effects DON'T look good nowadays).
However, its almost steampunk imagery entices me.

Thats what I'm worried about. It *does* look like a little kid's fantasy movie, but the book is teenage to adult. It basically talks about things like cutting away children's souls (only in the alternate universe, souls come in the form of a shapeshifting animal), original sin, tyranny of a dominate Church, etc. Very "adult" themes in my opinion. Yeah, I thought you'd like the steampunk It's pretty interesting, from the books you get the impressing they are at least somewhat advanced people, yet they go around in zepplins and boats. Plus there are bears in armor. POLAR bears. In armor.

I had also never heard of it until I heard about the movie. And then I finished reading The Two Towers for the fifth time the other night, and noticed that one of the books listed in the back as also being published by the same company that publishes Tolkien's books also publishes The Golden Compass, which made me think more highly of it just by it being associated to Tolkien's works, although I still have no idea what it's about. Although, polar bears in armor that are fighting does sound pretty damn cool.

The Golden Compass is topping my list of definite "to see" movies. I really love the fantasy stuff nowadays and definitely looks like my kind of movie. Hey, its also got both actors from Casino Royale!

Or even if the movie isn't original, why can't people make ones that just don't suck?
