((roleplay!))
Adam stared at the coupon the jester, Egakino, had given him. The tattoos on his finger tips flared a moment, and the coupon disintegrated. Adam hid this action from the jester. He didnt want to offend the poor man, but he certainly had no use for the slip of paper.
Before he could turn his attention back to the girl, a man in ripped robes stumbled from a close by alley, mumbling about bandits. Adam would have dismissed him, but the skulls on the robe and the cage made him uneasy. Something was. . . sinister. . . about them. The day just kept getting odder.
"Do not fear me, sir. I have no ill intentions, should you harbor none yourself."

Avroz mumbled shakily, "N-n-no, not at all. Quite the opposite in fact. I'm a healer. A pathetic one, granted, but I can take the pain away. Oh, and I can do this!" He put his hand to the cage at his waist. ""Verrange depayse umoor- More than it appears." At these words, the cage shook violently, then doubled in size. "Only temporary, sadly." Avroz frowned. "Nice to meet you sir. You seem to be quite a character." He gazed at Egakino momentarily. "Though I suppose everyone does, more or less." He looked around curiously. "Oh, my! What happened to these people!" Avroz knelt beside a Cardinal. "You-you handled these men?" His jaw dropped. "That was the terrible racket, wasn't it? Well, you put them in their places! Those Cardinals were nothing but trouble!"

((lol, what great acting. I can totally see the timid, coward-like mage from that text. And a smooth introduction into our story too. I dont remember that happening too often. Well done))
"See kids, apples aren't just for eating," Egakino was in the middle of juggling for two small children in the small patch of townsfolk when the newcomer in dark robes came tumbling into the picture. The break in concentration makes him lose control of the apples and they each end up falling onto his head to the amusement of the children. "Hehehe. Now off you little tykes go. And dont forget to show your parents those coupons! The Shining Mask Circus is always ready to put on a show!"
He notices that this newcomer's attire is rather "dark" to say the least, with all the little skull emblems and whatnot, but our Jester is not one to judge. If anything, he didn't seem to be threatening at all. He saw the little enlarging spell and it gave him a chuckle. The mage didn't seem to have much self-esteem either. "'Cardinals'. So that's what these fellas be then, eh? Um, doesn't ring a bell. But then again, I'm not from around here. Anyway, since we all seem to be gettin to be friends, my name's Egakino. Or otherwise known as... *dramatic pause* *spotlight* ... The Blue Jester!!" *pose* *fireworks* "Came up with that title myself! So what be your name, friend? Oh and just incase, too, have a coupon!"

"Oh, of course, introductions," still with a tint of worry in his eye, he picked up the last book and extended his shaking hand to Egakino as he told his name, "I am Avroz, of Teylie. I have few friends but those I do have call me Split. It really is a pleasure to meet you all." He tilted his head to the ground. "Too many gangs in this town. I would leave like that," Avroz put the books in his robes and snapped his fingers quickly, "If I knew the next town over was any safer. But the gangs just get stronger the farther South I go, and since that's where I was hoping to go, I'm afraid I'm trapped." He jumped as the cage shrank back to it's normal size and caught him off guard. "I'm not very courageous, you see. The thought of guns and swords and gangs terrify me. I'd take my books and a cozy dark alley over a gruesome death any day."

"You forgot to introduce me." Farce crawled along the wall of the alley and leaped, floating gently to the ground next to Avroz. "I told you you need to be more careful when you spy on people. Then again, you haven't ran back to the alley, so I take it these are friendly." She reached to the sheathed sword above her waste, drew the blade and used it for balance, leaning against it carefully. "I'm Fangs." She smiled, revealing long sharp canines.

Safra looked at the newcomers. "A black skull-adorned robe? An odd choice of dress for a healer. And a mysterious floating woman. How interesting..." She stared directly at them, a knowing look in her eye. "Your nickname, 'Split': How'd you get it?"

"Uh- I- I tend to- um..." Avroz put his hand to his chin and paused in thought, mumbling to himself just quietly enough to be inaudible. He looked back up and spoke. "I don't know how to say it... I have a tough time pulling myself together. People only see one part at a time. Sometimes I just split into two people. That's why I dress like this. My- greater half refuses to abandon the robes of the Dark Wizards, despite the fact that I am well done with bad magic. I don't like these robes, my own attire frightens me somewhat. It's dark." He turned his head to Farce. "We're no longer bad people, no, not us. I just want to stay out of trouble."

Nenet made a passing glance at each of the newcomers, but she had a sudden interest in the little girl who had more or less brought the group together.
"Girl," she said suddenly, ignoring the other people talking. "You say you threaten them." She motioned towards the unconscious gang members. "How?"
It was rather obvious by her expression that she had doubts that such a small person could threaten grown men to the point of attacking.

Still somewhat bewildered, Cirrus just gazed at the coupon from the wayward jester and slipped it in one of his belt pockets- it may just prove to be interesting inspiration.
Afterward, he looked back up to realize that a few more people have suddenly shown up in the square...two in particular took interest in the latest occurrence.
"Well..hey everyone, it's nice to meet all of y'all, but why don't we take this inside...all the standing is getting to me...there's a inn-bar thing right across from us. It seems like it might be worthwhile for all us to get to know each other a bit...that Cardinal gig was put down with a quite a good bit of gusto after all."
After being silent for that...Cirrus quieted down again, not sure whether his input was even due...

Gustav had been about to introduce himself when the two newcomers stumbled and glided onto the scene. He stared for a moment, listening to the introductions and wondering what the chances were of so many unusual people colliding so coincidentally. Of course, oddly coincidental things happened around him pretty frequently, he realised. He'd have to be more careful about his thoughts.
"I'm all for going inside. We can let these guys pick themselves up and shuffle out of town over a drink or two. I'm Gustav, by the way. Gustav Hindemith. And... well, I don't know what you'd call me. Lucky, we'll say. Interesting company at the least."

"Well, I- I," Avroz fumbled with his books beneath his arm, "Oh, why not? I haven't spoke to another person in ages! I guess as long as I have my cage I'm fine!" He was terrified of a public area where fights were prone to occur, normally he would have simply said his ados and made leave, but he felt Affel punching at his insides. "I really need a drink anyway." He glanced at Farce for only a moment, just long enough for her to read his "If we get into anything, you're bailing me out, right?" expression. Avroz, even with Farce and Affel, didn't think he could take a fight now. But only time will tell...

((That's a bit of character control there. I know you guys know eachother, but it's probably better if each player controls his or her own character to stop bad habits from forming.))
Safra turned back to speak to Nenet. "I threaten their power. If a little girl isn't afraid of them, maybe others will feel the same. Maybe someone will realize that the power in numbers that works for a gang could also work against them. They don't want people fighting back."

Nenet nodded at the girl. Her explanation made quite a bit of sense, but there was still something nagging her in the back of her mind.
"You have reason not to fear them?" she asked, thinking there would have to be a reason, otherwise the child would cower like the rest of the town.

"Perhaps I do. Perhaps I don't." she replied, "And perhaps we're being left behind as everyone else goes into that bar." She turned and began to follow as everyone entered, then stopped. "You're free to leave if you'd like. You seem like the kind of person who prefers being on her own."

((so sorry, my comp was messed up so she typed it for me. I had get it taken to a friend. We won't do it anymore)) The cage jerked Avroz toward the pub so that every third step was more of a stumble. "Hey," He said, holding it up, "I think I need a drink a bit more than you do today. And I'm not getting stuck with the hangover this time unless I'm the one doing the drinking." He chuckled under his breath. "You sly devil, you. You might get the hangover this time."
