"Nothing Changes/Just Rearranges." - It's On by KoRn
"All the logic in the world won't save you from your dreams." - Anonymous
"Love me or hate me; just spare me your indifference." - Someone
"A true friend will help you hide the bodies." - Amusing... Though poorly thought out....
"That's Where I Keep My Vagina" - Idea for the quote on a comedian's commercial T-shirt. It would include an arrow pointing either down (for women) or to the left (for men). This idea bumped "Up to the Left and Faster."
Okay, this has a funny quote at the end that isn't nearly as funny out of context.... It was overheard by a friend of mine at CONvergence, so it may or may not be a true story, but I don't doubt it... "So, I was going down on this beautiful girl and she told me to bite her... So I did... But, I drew blood... And, she orgasmed... And, gave me her number... But, I don't know if I should call or not..."
So, after that sexual stuff.... Some slightly more benign quotes... Almost entirely from Babylon 5! "I have seen the sea when it is stormy and wild; when it is quiet and serene; when it is dark and moody. And in all its moods, I see myself." - Martin Buxbaum
"You know, Londo never liked the Pak'ma'ra. I mean, they're stubborn, lazy, obnoxious, greedy--" "They kinda look like an octopussy that got run over by a truck." "That too, but .. one day Londo and I were walking past their quarters .. and we heard them .. singing." "Singing? They can sing?" "There's nothing about that in the literature." "Apparently it's something they only do certain times of the year as part of their religious ceremonies. You may not believe this, but .. it was the most beautiful sound I've ever heard. I couldn't make out the words, but I knew it was full of sadness and .. hope and wonder and .. terrible .. sense of loss. I looked at Londo and -- this is the amazing part -- there was a .. tear running down his face. I said: 'Londo, we should leave.' And 'This is upsetting you.' He just stood there and .. listened. And when it was over he turned to me and he said: 'There are 49 gods in our pantheon, Vir. To tell you the truth I never believed in any of them. But if only one of them exist, .. then god sings with that voice.'" - Vir, Sheridan and Franklin from Babylon 5
"Another of the benefits of being Emperor, or president, in your case, is not so much the people who are pleased to see you in office. It's the people who are furious that you're even alive, no less holding a position of power. Knowing that every day you succeed, they die a little more inside, makes the endeavor eminently satisfying." - Emperor Mollari to Sheridan in Babylon 5
"It's a cell. I've gotten used to them. Frankly, I've done some of my best writing in places like this. In here, you cannot run from yourself." - G'Kar from Babylon 5
"Well, that's the problem when you go from being a soldier to a politician. You have to sit and listen to people you would've shot six months earlier." - Sheridan from Babylon 5
"You picked a terrible moment in your social evolution to develop principles. Perhaps you can start with something simpler, the moral equivalent of the opposable thumb, for instance." - G'Kar to Londo in Babylon 5
"All life, every life. We're all born as molecules in the hearts of a billion stars, molecules that do not understand politics, policies and differences. In a billion years we, foolish molecules forget who we are and where we came from. Desperate acts of ego. We give ourselves names, fight over lines on maps. And pretend our light is better than everyone else's. The flame reminds us of the piece of those stars that live inside us. A spark that tells us: you should know better. The flame also reminds us that life is precious, as each flame is unique. When it goes out, it's gone forever. And there will never be another quite like it. So many candles will go out tonight. I wonder some days if we can see anything at all." - Delenn from Babylon 5

Who .. what are you?" "I've only recently begun to understand it myself. You know the Vorlons used telepaths as weapons during the Shadow War, but what no one stopped to consider was that in a war, you have a certain number of small weapons, a certain number of medium-sized weapons .. and one or two big ones .. the kind of weapons you drop when you're .. out of the small weapons and the medium weapons and you've got nothing left to use." "Someone like that would .. be the telepathic equivalent of a thermonuclear .. device, a .. a doomsday weapon." "Pleased to meet you, Mr. Garibaldi." - Garibaldi and Lyta

It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power. -Alan Cohen
The important thing is this: To be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could become. -Charles DuBois:
Courage, it would seem, is nothing less than the power to overcome danger, misfortune, fear, injustice, while continuing to affirm inwardly that life with all its sorrows is good; that everything is meaningful even if in a sense beyond our understanding; and that there is always tomorrow. -Dorothy Thompson
You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do. -Eleanor Roosevelt
I long to accomplish a great and noble tasks, but it is my chief duty to accomplish humble tasks as though they were great and noble. The world is moved along, not only by the mighty shoves of its heroes, but also by the aggregate of the tiny pushes of each honest worker. -Hellen Keller

Well, Hellen Keller is obviosly a commie.
"Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first, and the lesson after."
"The years teach much which the days never knew."
"The law isn't justice. It's a very imperfect mechanism. If you press exactly the right buttons and are also lucky, justice may show up in the answer. A mechanism is all the law was ever intended to be." I like that quote a lot...
"When you go into court you are putting your fate into the hands of twelve people who weren't smart enough to get out of jury duty."
"It is good to have an end to journey toward, but it is the journey that matters in the end."
"It is said an eastern monarch once charged his wise men to invent a sentence, to be ever in view, and which should be true and appropriate in all times and situations. They presented him with the words, 'And this, too, shall pass away.' How much it expresses! How chastening in the hour of pride! How consoling in the depths of affliction!"
"Today, if you are not confused, you are just not thinking clearly."
"And when man faces destiny, destiny ends and man comes into his own."
"The world needs anger. The world often continues to allow evil because it isn't angry enough."
"The doubt of an earnest, thoughtful, patient and laborious mind is worthy of respect. In such doubt may be found indeed more faith than in half the creeds."

"It is good to have an end to journey toward, but it is the journey that matters in the end." I know one that says that same thing: "The end is always important to know, but even moreso than that- is knowing and traveling the means to that end"

Anita Blake quotes (from Guilty Pleasures by Laurel K. Hamilton)....
Fear ran up my spine and into my throat. I fought an urge to draw my crucifix out of my shirt and drive him from my office. Somehow throwing a client out using a holy item seemed less than professional. - Anita
Geez, look into my eyes. You'd think the city's master vampire could be more original. - Anita
"If you fail me again, large or small, I will tear your throat out, and my children will bathe in a shower of your blood." Nicely graphic; a little melodramatic, but nicely graphic. - Nikolaos, Anita
Everyone has their weaknesses. Some people smoke. I collect stuffed penguins. If you won't tell, I won't. - Anita
I wondered if I had offended him. I wondered if I cared. - Anita
"I told her why we are here. I told her you wouldn't hurt Jack." "The coffin?" I smiled. I couldn't help it. He was a 'jack in the box.' - Phillip, Anita
If he stopped us with Phillip in his little fishnet shirt, all nicely scarred, would he be suspicious? Where are you going, miss? I'm sorry, officer, we have this illegal party to go to, and we're running late. - Anita
A young woman...was handing out pamphlets just inside the door. A guide to the service, I supposed. She smiled and said, "Welcome. Is this your first time?" I smiled back at her, pleasant, as if I wasn't carrying enough weponry to take out half the congregation. - a random woman at the Church of Eternal Life, Anita
Methinks we have a clue. Be still, my heart. - Anita
"I won't die, eaten alive," he said. He put a fresh clip in his gun. "I'll do you first if you want, or you can do it yourself." "Save your bullets, Edward." I lifted a can of gasoline in one hand. "What are you planning?" he asked. "I'm going to set the shed on fire." I splashed gasoline on the door. The smell was sharp and tugged at the back of my throat. "With us inside?" he asked. "Yes." "I'd rather shoot myself, if it's all the same to you." - Edward, Anita "I will cut out your heart." I was still smiling, I couldn't seem to stop. "Then I will burn it and scatter the ashes in the river. Do you understand me?" She swallowed audibly. Her health-club tan looked a little green. She nodded, staring at me like I was the bogey man. I think she believed I'd do it. Peachy keen. I hate to waste a really good threat. - Anita
"You smell of other people's blood, ma petite." I smiled at him, sweetly. "It was no one you knew." - Jean-Claude, Anita

Godamn, the only thing I hate more then japanabes and vegeterians is vampires. You have no idea "I do not fear computers. I fear the lack of them." Isaac Asimov "The computer is a moron." Peter F. Drucker "The real danger is not that computers will begin to think like men, but that men will begin to think like computers." Sydney J. Harris "Why shouldn't a PC work like a refrigerator or a toaster?" Walter Mossberg "Computers are useless. They can only give you answers." Samurai RPG wasn't japanabeism. And I don't hate the people. I hate what they do My sister (katt) used ot be a vegeterian, for example, I didn't hate her for it, but I wouldn't stop lecturing to her about it, either. Every day. Untill she stopped. In fact, I used to lecture about it on the board every day, too. As for vampires, thinking their 'cool' isn't bad, I guess, since everyone can choose what they like and don't like. But its people who take it too far and get either obsessed, or begin to believe things which obviosly aren't true, or who try to be something, do something, or other stuff like that which is totally... well... stupid. I used to use the word "Vampireabe" but it just didn't sound right. So now I just say I hate vampires.
