If this were an anime, that might be funny. As it is.... One of these days I'm going to throw an anime party. Y'all can come over for the whole day and we'll watch anime...all day! That would be so much fun (for me anyway). Who would be interested?

Sounds fun. Any idea on the possible dates for it.

Um...well, it might not be for a while. It would obviously have to be on a weekend. I might only be off on Sundays for a looong time. I know that might be a problem for Al and Jen, but what about others that are interested?
The program(s) may include:
Cowboy Bebop (1 DVD, movie) Sailor Moon (Seasons 1-3, 5; movies) Record of Lodoss War (complete series) Trigun (complete series) Ah My Goddess! the Movie Pretear (1st DVD) Yu Yu Hakasho (2nd DVD) Angelic Layer (c.s.) Battle Angel Alita (complete series) Neon Genesis Evangelion (complete series, movie) Martian Successor Nadesco (complete series, movie) Escaflowne the Movie
As you can see, this list would take more than we have time for, but at least it leaves room for options.

.........
I may have only so many actual anime...but what I don't have in anime...I make up for in manga I prefer manga because it allows me study each frame- without using the TV, they're portable, and there are a handful of series that are ONLY in manga, or are better experienced in manga form. -don't get me wrong, there are plenty that are better enjoyed in anime form, and all this doesn't mean I don't like the animated format.
-my titles- *=completed Aqua Knight (3*) Big O (2) Cardcaptor Sakura (1) Chobits (8*) Cowboy Bebop (3*) Cowboy Bebop- Shooting Star (2*) Demon Diary (1) Doraemon (8) Dragon Ball (13) Dragon Ball Z (10) Evangelion (1) Fooly Cooly (2*) Gundam Wing (1) Kazan (3) King of Bandits: Jing (4) -favorite! Kung Fu Boy (2) Love Hina (12) Lupin III (1) Oh My Goddess (11) Ragnarok (5) Rayearth (2) Real Bout High School (2) Sailor V (1) Steam Detectives (4) -Shonen Jump first issue- includes first chapters of: Yu-Gi-Oh, One Piece, Dragon Ball Z, and Sandland.
now as for your plan... I don't really know- not to mention the necessary interest level to bring everyone in, and then there's the time issue...we'd a weekend and more for this...to really take our time and enjoy it anyway...
today's Anime Quote: "then what would you call that amazing human that can actually control his hands, his feet, and even his desire? surely this could be no ordinary human. Who else then, but...THE KING OF BANDITS!!!" -Jing, King of Bandits vs. the Gold Coin Spirit

((You mean why, right? )) Well, part of it is because I admire the art so much. At least, that of a few particular series (such as CLAMP with Chobits, Angelic Layer, etc.). Some are very funny (such as Excel Saga), some are moody/dark (X:1999, Battle Angel Alita), and others are romantic. Of course, these are not the only ones I like. It's like anyone else liking a particular show (Sopranos, Thundercats, anything really) or movie.

Thundercats can almost be classified as an anime...if you watch the credits closely: nearly half the names and more are either Korean (maybe) or Japanese (surely)...
