Palla's story was not only exactly like very other story she has written, but there's pretty much nothing to it. I don't know how you can compliment her for being 'such a great writer' when she didn't even write anything. Its three, non-descript paragraphs, with no context, no story, no nothing, except telling us a person is depressed and has to take medication. Seems like 'just another depressed teenage sob story' to me, but then again, all of her stuff does. I disagree. The first paragraph opens with a hint at the girl's past: a memory of orange soda that seems to be happy and bright. This nice memory is then compared with the medication--an interesting parallel. For the second paragraph, we leave the happy memory behind and see the situation at hand with the serious topic of the medication. The same medication is then contrasted with, instead of a happy memory, a sad half-memory. The main character tries to recall, but can't, making the reader want to hear more to understand what happened. The third paragraph elaborates on the situation, bringing into the description the physical circumstances of the girl (tears, wounds, etc.) as even more of a teaser to her past. It ends with a rather well put transition into the meat of the story. Granted, it sounds like a story out of Chicken Soup for the Soul, but that's because of the subject matter, not the writing. I totally agree with that, although, you're making assumptions as to where her story is heading.... And, guys, you do realize how hypocritical it is to say, 'I hate those people who think their life is so horrible because they had something bad happen to them' followed up with, 'I've had worse stuff happening to me since' whenever....? Bad stuff happens and, you're right, some people have trouble dealing with it. It's unfortunate, but you can't blame them for trying to deal with it through writing or seeking out the writings of people who've gone through similar situations. If you don't want to read about it--then, don't. But, if you read it and want to respond to it, then please do so objectively... I mean, not liking something is fine and dandy, but saying that something's bad because you don't like the entire genre is a little misleading. And, no one's complaining about my work!! Tell me how bad it is, please, I'm feeling left out!

Yes, he may.... But, writers get rejected by critics all the time. Have to get used to it sometime, right?

woa...you two really are made for each other... (@_@)
And I never said I "hate" people with problems, although Will did... I do not hate anymore. I may feel remorse for them, but I also believe in gettin up off your arse and doin somethin about it, which is what I really like to see in stories like these. And I dont not like the genre as a whole, I do recall finding some great stories in it, but the thing is, I see this genre growing at incridible rate and I'm reading negative stuff all the time now. I wonder if that says something about our society. I mean, I loved stories of guys deep in a rut and somehow managing to see the light and getting out of that jam, but even those I'm no longer seeing. Its like everyone hates life now! And all everyone wants to do is emphasize, emphasize, and emphasize their crap. Its no wonder they're all negative. Nobody sees the good things in life anymore.
Oh by the way, I posted that question of why everyone writes dark stuff in reaction to yours and alezandrane's stories put together.

Yo Will, I was thinkin about continueing to write Tanyu's story myself, just havent gotten time to go back to it. And It'll be another while til I read the revision you just posted up.

You...dont hate anymore? What do you just give up "hate" like a diet? Like "hmm I dont feel like hatin' anymore today, I think I will feel remorse and pity instead!" Just like that huh? Its not like "hate" is a word created by humans to be used by humans or anything...its not like it only means "strongly dislike"....or smililar...I personally feel that there is a huge difference between "strongly disliking" mushrooms and having "remorse" or "pity" for them....dont you agree?

Firstly, heather, that's what you've said about all your stories, actually. "It's based of myself". You always say that. You just changed everyone's name in past installments. (What was the name of that one story you used everyone's middle names?) And the fact still stands. Weather its based off you or not, its still a story of someone who should learn to handle their own problems. And no apologies if that sounds harsh. I think there are a lot of people out there who, all they need is a collective kick in the ass, or slap in the face. Some people just need to relize that they need to grow up. Now, the fact that I mentioned "worse stuff has happened to me" could be cirtainly taken hypocritically, if you want, but that's not how I meant it. I meant it to show that these people always think they're so bad off, and that there are people out there who have MUCH worse lives, yet just have to deal with it. It so... selfish. So buck up and be happy, Damn it. Also, I didn't critisize her work becuase it was of a genre that I didn't like. I don't do that, becuase trust me, there are a LOT of genres I don't like Notice how I tell her all the improvments I feel she could make. And besides, its a sucky genre, and if you like it, your stupid j/k PS, the reason I did not critisize your stuff is I didn't want my single post to become too long.
