(I joined this forum because I wanted to be involved in the role playing. Specifically, this RPG. It's not happening, and that saddens me. I'm going to try to boost it along, and at the same time unobtrusively introduce my character. To the game, not the party.)
--Fargo sat, bored and lonely, at the bar. He went through many glasses of water, basically living in the measly tavern. Being a mercenary, he'd normally have gotten plenty of jobs, money, and company. But this new guy, Ulgnad, was taking away all his customers.
"So that's how I did it. No problem in the end, I just knocked his noggin good and hard, and slung him out by his scaly tail!" came Ulgnad's voice from his croweded corner of the room. He was relating his latest job, where he had rooted out a terrible beast from a nobleman's home.
'What an idiot... Just because he's bigger...' thought Fargo. 'I've got to get out of here. Maybe I'll be an adventurer, but this is getting me nowhere fast. No, it's getting me nowhere really slowly.'
--He ordered another drink.

*Tanyu got rigorously tossed off the back of the dragon after doing some major damage to it. He flies through the air and ruggedly lands about 10 yards away, barely managing to land on his feet. The dragon dug its claws deep into Tanyu's shoulder when it threw him, luckily it was on his left side, but that leaves that arm almost unusable for the time being*
((ooc: Who else was attacking the dragon, besides Tass? Come on, lets get some action))

Dirk had tracked the dragon for days, long days. Long enough that he was tired, so tired. He desperately needed to close his eyes. It was only the sound and smell of battle that kept him awake, not alert, but awake.
The dragon had decimated a large portion of the forest, including Dirk's personal sancuary. He had barely managed to escape his home, and had only managed to save the alpha wolf of his personal pack. The alpha dire wolf that he now rode towards the battle.

The sheer number of casulties was staggering. Even half asleep Dirk was able to make out the twisted bodies of several evil creatures. It was a pity that he wasn't here to help to slay them. . . but he had bigger fish to fry now. Maybe not a fish, but deffinately one large lizard to kill.
He urged Blaze to move faster and hung on to him with his legs as he brought his bow into his hands. He pulled the bowstring taught and willed an arrow to be notched. As he did, a green glow filled the space between bow and string. An arrow appeared glowing with an eery glow.
"Let's slay us a dragon!"

Blaze, the dire wolf, moved expertly around the dead and dying bodies on the ground, stopping every so often to grab a mouthful of flesh. He knew what his rider wanted instinctively, and was eager to help. He made his way unobtrusively towards the dragon. Halfway from the woodline to the tower, a human scent caught his attention. He pointed his nose in the direction of the scent and howled, a long hair raising howl to awaken his friend.
Dirk heard the howl and scanned the area that Blaze faced. Seeing a human battling with a troll he laughed to himself. Interesting, perhaps the right arrow would help the situation. He willed the arrow currently in the bow to dissipate, and willed another to replace it.
Both man and troll seemed equally unaware of him, but that was about to change Dirk knew. He unleashed the glowing red arrow and watched as it made its way through the air to burrow in the troll's back. The arrow, and then the troll, burst into vibrant blue flames.
"I know you'd like to stay for the feast Blaze, but we have payback to deliver."

*After the brief skirmish with the mephits, Sho takes a quick breather, dusting off his shirt and cringing at the putrid stench coming off a bloodstain from the previous melee outside- he'd only just noticed it here*
Sho: "aww fer' crying out loud...damn...well anyway, if we're done here; i'd say we get a move along lady and gentleman"
I don't know why the idea just came to me now, but I should be able to trace the source of the energy driving this place...through feeling the very masonry that built it
With that, Sho kneeled and touched the ground with an open palm, he then closed his eyes and focused his breaths. He felt a surge of emotions and energies about the whole facility, each one ran a chill down his spine...as if he WAS the tower...and now synchronized with it, he could feel the heart of the tower...which is where the gateway should be...unless there was another looming power awaiting deeper within
Sho: "I got something!...I assume that your going for the rumored portal that lies here- well, I think I know where it is..."
((for those within the tower, I just thought I'd speed it along unless someone wants differently))

(arent dire creatures, like the size of a shed or something. theyre huge, right?)
"well, this floor is pretty much covered at least, not much left here. guess we have to go up. and with Sho knowing where the target is, we just have to find out how to get there. it seems the only way on is upward., lets find some stairs or something"
*with a brief search of the floor, the party found a cleverly concealed stairwell behind a large mahongany bookcase, with the help of Sho's guidence. At the end of the starcase was a set of think woodent doors.*
"Whatever is behind this door must be whats summoning these abominations. you guys think its some magical device or an evil wizardy kinda guy... anyone wanna tak bets?"
*Katt grasped the handles of the door and pulled, but they didnt bugde... locked. go figure...*
"psh, locked, go figure. lemme get this, just give me a sec."
*Katt pulled out a couple tools and started working at the big brass locks on the doors... With a couple of minutes of testing and prodding. the lock clicked opened.*
"heh, not a lock around thats been able too keep me out! so... uh.. who wants to go first?"

Erimel: May I humbly point out that I, being a mage, am not suited to go first... at all. Perhaps one of you should move in. I'll stay back and cast from the safety of the door.
