Alys fell back to her brother's stride and watched Grazt survery the field. Jaakob didn't seem to notice the carnage until, ironically, he tripped on it. Thud. "Ow!... Eww!!" he boy squealed, scrambling up and back towards his sister, "Alys! Alys! A gobwin!" She hold the child loosely, staring at the disemboweled body he'd landed on, "Why don't you just... um... not look." Clinging to Alys, Jaakob begrudgingly followed her forward, leaning his head back and closing his eyes. It was only a few steps before he tripped her. She caught herself on the stick, but Jaakob crumpled unceremoniously to the ground. Alys sighed, "Come on, Jaakob," and lifted him to his feet as she kept walking towards Grazt.

Grazt roughly pulled a goblin's body in half, blood sprayed everywhere as he observed the armor. It should fit the boy, and fit pretty well. If not, well, there were a multitude of other goblins.
"Boy here armor. Wash first. Girl, gather equipment. Need food for us, for survivors."
Drask continued walking hurridly until he reached the battlefield, and was within yards of the trio.
"Excuse me, shouldn't we be looking for survivors?"

Alys flinched at the bloodshed, suddenly feeling a bit queasy. She breathed deeply and turned around, intending to do exactly what Grazt had asked when she saw the newcomer. Taking an instinctive step back, Alys stumbled on the corpse of a goblin and hurriedly caught herself, "Who... Who are you?" Jaakob was happily pawing the bloody armor, spitting on it and rubbing the saliva around to wash the leather. He didn't seem to notice, anything, yet.

"The name is Drask and if you were able to survive then ther must be other survivors left in the town as well. We need to hurry and save them before it's too late."
As he spoke Drask attempted to avoid letting the young girl see his eyes, he already knew she was spooked by the bloodshed around her. He didn't want to spook her further.
"Come, get that child out of here, he is too young to be surrounded with this, this, filth."
Gratz whirled around and stared at the newcomer. "Too young? Is good to see blood. Makes strong. No be coward. Make mad. Have stomache to fight.

Katt hid behind some rubble to watch again for a second, and what she saw at a second glance shocked her. he gave the armor to a little boy, who was acompanied by a little girl. what a strange group... but they were survivors... Katt emerged from the debris and made her way onto the battle feild*"Hail friends! My name is Katt, are you survivors of this carnage as well?"

Drask turned and looked at the figure who had spoken. "Good, another survivor. Yes, we're all survivors and we were just heading back into town to begin searching to see if there were any others. " He turned his back on the newcomer to glare, with unseeing eyes, at the half-orc. "If you're willing, I'd appreciate the help in searching through the rubble."

*Jalathas' seach had been fruitless as well, and thus he was suprised to hear the voices of people coming from outside the debris. Stepping away from the rock he'd been lifting in an attempt to free a warrior who he knew in his heart was already dead, he followed the voices to a small group of people, standing near the ruins.*
"Who goes there?" he calls, "Are you willing to lend a hand to help any who still live within these ruins?"

Before Alys had the time to respond, two more had approached the group. She quietly moved on, wandering around the battlefield and scavenging any useful items she could find. In her absence, Jaakob was decidedly more reserved, sitting quietly with his "new" armour in hand and watching the new people interact with the big, bright eyes of a child. ((Okay, well, no food and no sleep make Alys something, something.... .... ))

Grazt peered at the new stranger, he recalled seeing him on the battlefield, and he had fared pretty well. He must be a warrior, no matter how strange his weapons and armor. He pointed at the warrior and said, "You take two. I take rest. Search town survivors. After look for attack reason."
Drask, with nothing more than a thought sent the great owl back into the air. Its eyes peered down on the town looking for any signs of a survivor. . . .
The owl's eyes focused in on a small figure that appeared to be fighting to get it's feet underneath it. There was at least one more survivor! Drawing closer the owl, and thus Drask, was able to make out the figure of an elvin female, she appeared to be in bad shape.
"Do any of you know anything about the healing arts? I'm afraid we have another survivor, but she's in pretty bad shape."

*Katt didnt notice any correlation between this man and the owl that has been flying around. she was a bit confounded as to how this blind man could see such a thing, but Katt decided to ask questions later. just ahead, there was an elvin woman who seemed to be having quite a hard time standing on her own two feet. Katt ran ahead to help.*
"are you okay, m'lady? it seems your really hurt, let me help.."
*Katt casts a healing spell in attepmt to alleviate her wound*

"are you okay, m'lady? it seems your really hurt, let me help.."
The wound on Rynara's leg closed and the bleeding stopped. In moments only a small bruise remained.
"Th, thank you. Are, there more survivors? My brother is somewhere in the town, we have to find him. . . I have to find him. . ."

Rynara smiled at the woman and grabber her arm in an attempt to stand. She slowly rose to her feet and tried taking a few tentative steps.
"Then perhaps we can work together, you and I. I shall continue looking for my brother and you can look for clues along the way. Perhaps between the two of us we can find out what happened here."

"sounds like a good idea to me. but maybe we should chack with the rest of the surviors first. maybe some of them would be willing to help us as well. no to mention, making friends at a time like this can never be a bad idea..."
*Katt and Rynara make their way back to the group*

As a group the party begins searching for survivors and what they see discourages nearly everyone. Bodies are flung throughout the town, as if a tornado had touched down at its center. However, a tornado sometimes spares buildings.
Within three hours of begining the search of the town Rynara uncovers the body of her brother.
Of the party only the strange man with the owl sees anything wrong with the the figure lying dead before them.
"This isn't right, there are human footprints here, the elf is dead, and the human footprints walk out and away. If the building collapsing is what killed him, their shouldn't be footprints, the humans should have been crawling maybe, or definately leaving a blood trail of some kind."
Rynara's eyes burned brightly with rage, and in a moment of clarity it she knew. . . "My brother was murdered, and I'm going to find out who did it, and why. Those of you that want to follow, follow. The rest of you go about your business."
