The night was silent and still, perhaps too silent, and too still. In the darkness the town of Ryndra slept peacefully. Unaware of the danger that was creeping forward towards it.

Drask loved the night and would walk often into the woods surrounding the small town. With his trusty owl flying overhead he was confident that nothing would surprise him. With a start, he realized he was far, far wrong. There was an army slithering through the woods towards the town. He had to get there, and get there fast to warn them. . . .

Syntara looked out at the forrest and could barely pick out the shape of a lone figure running hurridly towards the town. A small figure hovered up above him, a bird perhaps. Whatever the case it was unusual. He strained his eyes attempting to see what was causing the figure to run. . .
His eyes widened and a small cry escaped his lips. Just as he turned to began sounding a cry a hand on his shoulder whirled him around and a meaty fist flew into his jaw. . . .

((Oh, god... dragon's blood? Why do I get the feeling that I got my character screwed over when I made him a dragon's enemy?))
*Jalathas awakens in the inn, aware of a sudden feeling of danger. Strapping on his Yoroi and weapons, and leaving the inn, he sees the advancing army, and rushes back to town, calling the alarm.*
*An hour later, Jalathas stands in the path of the army, at the head of the town militia.*
Of course, the town is peaceful for decades, no trouble at all, then the night I arrive, an army attacks. A flippin' army! why does everything always happen to me?

The cry goes out, and the town slowly begins to awaken from deep, troubleless sleep. With the alarm comes a deep feeling of unease. This is a peaceful town. It is not set on a strategic piece of land, there are no natural resources to exploit other than the forrest, but forrests are almost everywhere.
The men of the town arm themselves with what little they have scaveged from the fields. Men armed with pitchforks and boys armed with wooden staffs. Against the army before them they do not stand a chance.

Drask ran frantically towards the town, as he approached he saw a solitary figure in front of him. A lone warrior standing against the army.
"Are you out of your mind? There must be thousands of 'em."
Not even bothering to get an answer he continued running into the town. There had to be a good hiding place somewhere.

Grazt woke up to shouts in the town.
"Goblins, orcs, wake up, defend yourselves!"
Well he'd been spoiling for a fight for days. He supposed this was his chance to spill some blood although he wasn't sure that he'd live through it. He slipped his armor on, prepared his weapons and meandered his way down towards the lone figure dressed for battle.

Rynara stretched out and tried to go back to sleep. Somewhere in in the world of dreams the town was crying out about goblins and orcs and an army devastating the town. Utter nonesense. Who would attack this place? The noice grew louder though, and through an open window the pieces of the horde could be seen.
"Well donkey balls and pig shit, I better go do my part."

((oh, thats cool, but no more double posting. I mean, i know each post you make has meaning and it aint exactly spam, but put it all in one post. There are only 15 posts to a page. And unless you're playing by yourself, I'd suggest leaving some room for the other players))

The main force of the army stopped and siege machines were brought to the front. Through squinted eyes a small recon force made up of goblins and snotlings could be seen creeping forward towards the town.
The recon force was halfway to the town when the first of the siege engines fired. Soon after the air was filled with boulders which flew with amazing accuracy into the town's streets. Women and children fled in terror, young boys gazed at their fathers in horror as buildings collapsed around them. The main force, or any force for that matter, had yet to attack and the casulities were already climbing.
The siege engines continued pummeling the town, as the skirmishers ran toward the rag-tag force awaiting their arrival.
Those waiting could easily make out banners bearing the symbol of a lone black dragon. . . .While the symbol normally would inspire terror, terror was already prevalent here.
Within moments of the sighting the battle began.
The goblins and snotlings run direcetly towards the waiting men and immedietly size up the opposition. Anyone that looks like a threat is to be taken on by no less than 3 to 1 odds. The rest of the men and boys, well, they'll be easy to defeat.
Jalathas, The two goblins that approach you do so at a full sprint, ahead of them is something smaller, and a shade darker in color. You're not entirely sure what it is. You do know that it is carrying a short sword and that it is shouting a war cry. The goblins are short and stout, caked in dirt that almost hides them in the dim early morning. Even if you couldn't see them, you could smell them. They smell of filth, and feces. When they draw close they unsheath short swords and advance. . . ((you have initiative))
Grazt watches the recon screen advance and is not surprised when 7 of those small creatures run directly towards him. The racket they make IS annoying, but he remains calm. When the snotlings approach they do so flanking the half-orc.
Rynara is just inside the town and watches the approach. There is not a whole lot that she can do, but she'll do her best to help.
((Katt, as you didn't post that you were outside waiting, I'm going to say that you are still inside but can make it out to the battle within one round if you so choose.))

((How should I write this?))
The descriptive: *Whirling on the small creatures, Jalathas brings his blades across in a dual slashing motion towards one of the goblins.*
"Die, you ugly scum!" he shouts.
Or the incredibly bland: I attack a goblin with my Tanto and Katana.
