Kayla walked through the bazaar surveying everyone and everything. A wealthy merchant eyed her just long enough to realize her skin was green, and then disappeared into the crowd. Others did the same. Some things never changed Kayla thought to herself. True she was a freak, she realized that, but that didn't mean that everybody had to treat her that way. Hell, sometimes she even wished that they'd torment her rather than just going out of their way to ignore her. As she contemplated her place in life a shop keeper passed by her.
The shop keeper was large, even by human standards, well over six feet tall. With broad shoulders and well defined muscles. His money purse hung from his belt around his waist. As he walked he was constantly on the lookout for dangers that would present themeselves to him, or his money.
Kayla moved quickly, very quickly. Moving with the crowd she ducked in close to the shop keeper, with a deft movement she jabbed the man in the groin with her staff. As the man doubled over in pain she quickly grabbed his purse and disappeared into the crowd. . . .

Fargo walked slowly and deliberately, making it obvious he was in no hurry so that the wild throng about him would know to go around. He surveyed the crowd, watchful and careless. Then he heard a grunt very nearby.
Casually turning his head toward the sound, he saw a very large man doubled over on his knees, and a small person running away with a staff and a coin-purse, presumably belonging to the man. He instantly realised what must have happened, and kept walking. Helping this man would not help him. But he was intrigued by this thief. This very small thief.
He quickly changed course and kept the escaping miscreant in sight. Taking long strides to keep up without making his intentions obvious, he easily kept pace with the escapee. Maybe while I'm 'investigating' I'll get a share of that gold...

The weight of the purse was extraordinary, whatever was in it was assuradely not gold. Kayla wondered what it could possibly be. She quickly scanned the crowd around her before leaping into a small building. From the building she quickly made her way to the rooftop and began leaping from one to the next. She then shimmied down through her open window.
The purse was quickly emptied onto what passed for her bed. The pile of straw did little to hide the glittering object. Kayla stared entranced at the beautiful figurine, it was a beautiful human female carved out of jade. The figure stood just under nine inches in height and was covered in gems. Indeed, from her waist down a skirt was made from wonderfully worked diamonds. The figure's upper body was covered with rubies, and inlaid into the eye sockets were two identical gems that Kayla could not place. She's never seen, nor heard of these strange gems.
Her curiosity piqued she dedided to take a closer look at the strange eyes. As she moved closer the gems began glowing. . . .

As the chase sped up, Fargo was forced to make a more obvious effort to keep pace. The small bandit was moving quickly, and as he followed it through quick twists and turns, climbing and jumping, he finally got a break. The prey had stopped.
He watched as the miniscule figure emptied the contents of the small bag onto what he assumed was its bed, and was surprised. First by the fact that it was not gold at all, but some sort of figurine, though it was unclear from his distant vantage point. Second by the soon-glowing eyes of the small statue. His target leaned closer to the face of the gleaming figurine, and all of the myths of magic he'd ever heard came back to him in a quick flash. What else could explain this phenomenon?

Krysta rose up, awakened by a strong energy source nearby. "Initiating scan of the area." the huge ice golem said in a low, monotone voice as its main mody chunk, which also held its eyes, spun around. He analyzed everything in the room, until he discovered that the energy source was in a building nearby. "Disturbance found in Beta Quadrant." the golem continued, stomping forward, smashing through a wall and heading directly in Kayla's direction. "Initiating pursuit..."

The glowing eyes opened, that was more than enough for Kayla. She turned and began to run when she caught sight of a figure looking into her room. Somebody was watching her. . . .
Well damn she thought to herself, what do I do now? Do I take this, this thing and try to sell it to somebody. Do I run and hope that he leaves me be, or do I just sit here and contemplate my options?
She turned her back to the stranger and reapproached the figurine. The glowing eyes seemed to watch her every movement. As she reached for the figure, it clumsily stood to its feet.
"What would my master have me do?"
This couldn't be happening. What the hell was this thing?

The little rogue had spotted him. Unperturbed, Fargo continued to watch. The figure stood, and he stared open mouthed, not sure what to do. This delima was solved for him.
A loud crash was heard from below, and from his perch upon the building, he saw a golem, of what looked to be ice, crashing through walls and heading in his direction.

Krysta scanned around again, tracking the energy source. "Disturbance detected above." he said, then leaped up with a great leap, smashing through another wall and landing in the room Fargo was in. The massive golem looked upon the fleshling before him. "Unknown organism found." Krysta said in his usual low voice. "Initiating full scan.." His seven small eyes then emitted beams of light with which to analyze Fargo......

Kayla stared at the figure standing on her bed, "What, what are you?"
"I am your servant, I exsist to please you."
"If you exist to please me, bring me something to eat."
The figure scampered off of Kayla's bed and grew at an alarming rate. Before he reached the door, less than ten feet away, it had grown to five feet in height. When it reached the door, a human skin seemed to be pulled over his body, from the head down. It opened the door, and disappeared.

(Just to clear something up, I was on top of the building. But in it works.)
Fargo stared back at the massive beast of ice. It held his full attention, and he only waited for it's next move. It watched solemnly, summing him up and deciding what action to take... Inhuman thoughts.... What is this thing?

"Analysis complete." Krysta said as he stopped analyzing Fargo. "Tell me: do you know of a power source near here? My mission is to find it." the golem then said, obviously referring to Kayla's figurine and not knowing what just happened to it......

Kayla turned to redirect her attention to the figure who had been watching her. What had he seen, what had he heard? Her eyes grew wide as she looked upon an enormous figure standing next to the man. It seemed this day was full of surprises.

"Uhhh...," Fargo had a clear view of the pleading face of the tiny thief below and of the massive golem before him. He glanced from one to the other, not knowing what to say. If I tell this beast about the figure, at least it'll be out of my hair. But... If I don't tell it, maybe I'll have a chance to learn more about that thing...
"No, I don't have a clue. Sorry...," Fargo finally said after much internal debate. The looming figure stared ahead steadily, and Fargo was beginning to be unnerved.

Krysta immediately reacted as he felt the power source's presence again. "Familiar energy signature approaching." he said. "Preparing encounter mode." He then leapt out of the hole in the wall he entered through and blocked the way to Kayla's location, aware that the energy source had to go through him to reach Kayla now...

That didn't go as planned....
He leapt after the golem. After all, he wasn't going to get any more information by watching from the rooftop.
