Dirk looked up from where he had fallen and looked at what remained of the dragon, his next thought was for his companion. He fought to his feet and started looking frantically calling for Blaze. Just as he was about to give up hope, Blaze appeared next to him. His snout was dripping blood, and there was a bloody gash on one of his hind legs. These Dirk bandaged quickly and efficiently.
"Blaze stay here boy. Are you two okay?"
Without waiting for a response Dirk ran over to the dragon's corpse and started attempting to remove a claw.

"Well, thats a good idea . but anyway, it seems like this thing is the source of the problem, so all we have to do is destroy this thing without destroying outselfves, huh? that shouldnt be too hard, it looks pretty delicate." *Katt picked up a nearby tome and chucked it at the intricate machine, just to see what kinda damage it could do, but as Katt though, it wasnt going to be that easy. an invisable barrier sparked up and deflected the tome. it bounced off and made a thud as it hit the ground. the tile it landed on promply spurted out a jet of flame to incincerate the book. trapped indeed...*"okay... well shoot. this is going to be a little tougher then i thought. maybe we can get our mage to look into this? do you have any suggestions to remedy the situation? seem like a magical conundrum to me... i wanted a chance to loot the place anyway... hehe" ((figured id give jalathas another chance to post before we take the tower down, or destroy the machine or whatever. he said he wanted to do do something here.. i think))

*Sho in amusement, watched Katt toss the tome into the machine...with the same expected response*
Sho: "Well...if it's a shield, I can use my flame to burst through it- I did the same to get into Lordsmith's hold...The complication is...my flame can't really do much to inorganic objects...so, I'll make the door- but our mage friend will have do the damage..."
*Sho then turns over to the direction of the mage- and yells out in jest*
Sho: "Heya Mister Mage! how's that idea for ya!- That way, I get some more action, Katt gets to the loot the place...and you...well...yeah, you get whatever you want- and we all leave happy"
I should really get this guy's name
((well, is that all right?))

It took a little doing but finally the dragon's claw came off. Dirk let out a small yelp of pain as the claw dropped into his open hand drawing blood in the process. Damn, but those things were sharp. Finished taking his trophy he whistled for Blaze and then turned back to see what the other two men were doing.
"It's been a pleasure meeting you both."

*Tass looked over to Dirk*
"Likewise. I'm guessing you're a Ranger? We could have use for the extra support, if you'd join us"
*Tass realized that just himself and Tanyu probably made an odd couple alone*
"Oh, and there are more of us. Kaulth, a high mage and my master, Sho, a fighter like Tanyu here, Erimel, another mage. Katt and Will are westerners. Anyone you don't see here is in that tower, which is where Tanyu and I should be headed, after picking up Will"
*He motions to the nearby tower, then looks around*
"Where is Will, anyways?"

*Getting up off the ground, still groggy after being hit by lighting*
Tanyu: (@_@) "Did anyone catch the number of that freight train...?"
*The others wonder what a freight train is since this is suppost to be a medieval rpg*

((spam, spam, spam, cut it out man))
Dirk paused for a moment considering the offer. It might allow him to travel, to experience more of the world than he had seen thus far. To somebody who had seen very little of the world the offer was very, very tempting.
"I'll go along with you, at least unti you meet the rest of your friends. I don't want to be a burden on you all."

*shakes head to get rid of dizziness*
Tanyu: "Oh, you took out the dragon already, good job guys. Now come on, we gotta help the others inside that tower!"

"Come Blaze, we shall help these men and their allies. Gentlemen, perhaps it would be better if you entered first, I don't relish the thought of being thought a foe by your companions."

((all right, I really, really would like to see this game get back goin' so i'm just gonna do something...and see if any of you guys wanna help me jump start this baby from there))
*Sho's question toward the mage didn't seem to go answered...for a bit longer than he had desired. Although, he did seem to contemplating, which eased his mind a little. Nevertheless, time was running short; and options were beginning to diminish. The only thing going for the trio at this point, was that keeping this still kept them safe from the inconceivable amount of traps that lay all over the rustic observatory. The aura from the magic that powered the traps was only overridden by the ominous machine in the center...that radiated a force like no other. Sho, being the kind of guy he is...quite simply, got bored and antsy...unlike his usual disposition...where he'd just fall asleep standing; the aura held a tight grip around his heart as strong as a vice. Thusly, he did the first thing he could think of...he arched his back and focused the energies around him...converting the mass energies into a path, lunged forward and unleashed an azure flame that traveled like a javelin into the machine. It successfully pierced the shield...with a loud crack, the shield rippled from the puncture as steam rose from the strike...but the flame had dissipated among contacting the surface of the contraption*
Sho: "..."
Thought so...I can break the shield easy...but I can't do anything to that machine on my own...if there was something that could travel with my flame...maybe...but other than that...I can't move fast enough to travel through the break

*Katt was busying herself grabbing some extra trinkets and tomes she thought might be useful, either for spending money or to aid her and will in the labyrinth that the east seemed to them. She grabbed a tome ornately labeled "Bestiary," a journal of sorts, a shipping list, a set of alchemist tools, random gold nicknacks and other shiny odds and ends, a gem or two, a ring, and a very intriguing daggar. Katt would have kept of packing up her back pack, but then she realized that the other two were having a bit of trouble with the machine.*
"well, i suppose that we could try to break through the sheild, but something tells me that not much is going to get through it aside from you flame, Sho. In order to get it through, it would have to enter with your breath... which is a toughie. my guess it that this can be dismantled some how. i mean this mage guy had to get in there somehow to work on this thing, right? lemme just look a little... this guy seemed a bit of a technophile if hes found a way to create a portal to another demension with a tangible device..."
*Katt searched the room for a bit, and realized that all of the runes lead to one point in commont, the ones that glowed were all connected to a large desk in the corner, which is where Katt headed. Behind the slides and tomes of the large oak deak, was a starnge interface. Crystals glowed and vials bubbled, and all this energy led to the floor, which, in turn, made the runes on the floor glow.*
"hey guys... i think this is what were looking for, the powerhead to it all... this guys must have been quite a genius. i think hes found a way to link the magical with technological devices. hes creating a sheild with no mage present, these machines do it for him... seems a shame to dismantle it..."
*Katt reached her hand inside the device and pulled out the biggest crystal she could grab. the whole machine became unbalenced and and everythign began to stop. the whole whirr of the conservatory deadened, the runes dimmed, the bubbling and humming stopped and the whole tower was quiet...*

((Ok, I missed like, everything. So I'm gonna just say My character got separated, and try to meet up with the people from inside the Tower. I re-read a bit, but I'm still a bit lost. There was a dragon outside, but its dead. There was a portal/shield machine inside, but its dead too. So now everythings done?)) *Will wipes the mess from his bastard sword as he looks at the room he has just cleared.*
*He fell behind the group in the initial battles at the tower. He was separated eventually. After battling his way back toward the group, he found the tower unlocked and went inside, assuming that is where the group went.*
*He went inside and followed the trail of defeated monsters. It wasn't long, however, that Will's keen eyes noticed that the tower was not what it seemed.*"Katyrian Magitechnology..." *He said to himself softly, as he turned off his path through a door. Runes across the floor showed him the way.*"Magitechnology... the transfer of magical energies to technological devices." *Magitechnology was a terribly interesting subject to Will. Many years ago, when he had first heard of it, his interest in Magitechnology is what inspired him to continue adventuring instead of returning to his home. Magitechnology existed- or so he thought- only in one region of the world. A large island-nation on the northernmost shores of the Eastern Continent. Katyr.*
*Will shook his head. Back to the present. The path lead him off course, and he was far away from the portal, the others, or anything else of interest. He had cleared out the room he was standing in only to find it was a dead end. The runs lead to a desk against the far wall, and on the desk lay a number of devices, clearly of foreign design. He examined them, but he couldn't figure out any uses for them. One appeared to be a pistol, but it apparently lacked an important component. Most, Will couldn't even begin to figure out basic uses. He let them lay where they were.*
*Except for one- a small humanoid creation of some sort. It had discernible arms and legs, attached to a central body, but no head. It seemed to be a toy of some sort, a doll made of clockwork. When 'standing', it was about a foot tall.*
*Curious as to why a toy would be kept with magitechnological devices, he pocketed it, and moved on his way.*"The others must be in here somewhere..." ((Let me know whetever's wrong. I added in the whole peice about magitechnology and stuff becuase Katt had mentioned how the machine was magical and technological... and my post felt a bit short )

((lol, way to be, will. ditching the RPG long enough for moss to grow on a rolling stone and then jumping back in when something strikes your fancy. i guess the 'in-party' is going to be heading outside of the tower, now that the portal device is destroyed. everything is pretty much done, you missed all of the action!
it would be great if sho or erimel would react.... hinthint...))

((w00t))
*Tassatul stood up*
"Tanyu, I'm gonna go on ahead and see if the others need help. I'll see you in a few?"
*Without waiting for an answer, Tassatul turned and made his way toward the tower. He glanced over at the charred dragon corpse, and briefly considered ressurecting it as a familiar*
Too dangerous. . . if I lost control, we'd have to fight it again. . . I'll do the next best thing . . .
*Tass walked over the the corpse of the dragon. Placing his hands on the blackened skin in prepartation for the ritual, he realized that the dragon would not have lasted very long anyways. Undead could withstand massive amounts of what would normally be physical pain, but fire was effective enough to render them useless. This dragon was already burnt to a crisp
No matter, it can still be useful in a different way
*Tass's hands, placed upon the flesh of the dragon's stomach area, began to glow a greenish color. The tips of his fingers oozed wisps of green smoke, which spread about the dragon's body, covering it in a thin layer, but not affecting it physically*
If I can capture the soul before it. . .yes!
*The green smoke rose from the corpse, formed into 4 ghostly figures*
"Shades" Tasss spoke out loud, "To me"
*The shades floated to Tass and set into formation around him. Tass smiled at his new ability, and then went to the tower to find his friends*
